Alitalia (AZ) is the national airline of Italy. Headquartered in Rome, the airline's main hub is at the city's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO); secondary hubs are located at Milan Linate Airport (LIN) and Milan–Malpensa Airport (MXP). The airline, which is part of the SkyTeam alliance, flies to about 100 destinations, including airports within Italy, across Europe, and in Africa, Asia, North America and South America. Alitalia offers four classes of service depending on the route and aircraft. These are Classica (Economy Class), Classica Plus (Economy Plus), Ottima (short- and medium-haul Business Class) and Magnifica (long-haul Business Class).

This is THE worst airway company that I have seen. 1) first the flight was delayed nearly two hours. 2) we missed the connection flight. 3) they did not let us check in online, so we were about to miss the second connection flight (scheduled at a later time) 4) OFCOURSE they lost our baggage. 5) on our way to Rome, they CANCELED our return flight. We will miss the wedding of our best friend. The staff is incredibly rude, not helpful at all. DO NOT choose this company for your travels in Italy. I hope they suffer the consequences of their actions and I will post this review EVERYWHERE.…

the most heinous airline. I called to ask multiple questions about skipping a leg and they said it was fine - then said they would cancel my return flight because they want more $. That said, all of the other reviews speak for themselves. do NOT use this airline

Our baggage was delayed 3 days and ITA Airways said they would reimburse clothes/toiletries purchased during that period. In fact they are required to do so by international law (Montreal Convention) and European regulation. 8 months later I still have no resolution. NEVER count on ITA Airways to do the right thing…even if they said would and are required by law.…

The luggage was lost, and we were forced to buy clothes and toiletries. We were legally entitled to the refund of those items but Alitalia erroneously closed the case that we submitted. We then entered in an endless number of phone calls spending literally at least 20 hours; every time reexplaining the case and receiving the assurance that someone would have called us back and solve the issued. It never happened. After 8 months Alitalia did not refund us. Worst experience ever…

If application have 0 stars, I would give zero, we flew Rome to Washington DC, line was huge they only have 3 workers, food was horrible and they broke 3 of our language, DC airport I filed those languages, they said we will pay you just get new languages, I got just 2 language and sent receipt to them, no answer almost 2 months, if you don't want headache and stress don't file Italian Airlines even if you get good deal, worst Airlines…
