Terrible Customer Service

Based on my recent conversation with their AU Customer Service I wouldnt book any flight with these bozos. I rang to enquire about the current bonus side trip program and not one person in the Customer Service area knew anything about it. The second issue was that I could simply not understand what they were saying as their use of the English language is atrocious. This is a call centre for AU customers and they cannot pronounce the words whilst speaking at 400 words per minute. All they were interested in doing was referring me back to their website which was not functioning correctly in any event and they had no support service or assistance for it. If this poor level of quality and service extends throughout the organisation I can't trust their ability to fly comfortably or even safely.

An Airline That Does Not Care for Passengers

Penang - JakartaSoutheast Asia

Malaysian Airlines is an awful airlines. They simply do not care. Today (20 March 2025), we were flying from Penang to Jakarta and connecting in KL. Our flight from Penang got delayed and when we got to KL, we only had 45 minutes before departure of the Jakarta-bound flight. The lines at the immigration counters were long. And lo and behold, no MH staff was there to assist. Batik Air ironically had a staff assisting Batik passengers. We had to ask each and every passenger ahead of us at the immigration line to let us through if possible as our flight to Jakarta was only a few minutes before take off. Good hearted passengers allowed us through. When we got to the boarding gate, I asked the MH staff why no staff was there at the immigration to assist. They said, they cannot do anything as immigration is by the government. But of course, we all know that immigration is by the government. But in all airports around the world and for other airlines, they assist passengers through immigration specially connecting passengers. Imagine. MH simply does not care. If you miss your flight because of their first flight getting delayed, it would be up to you to fend for yourself. I would not wonder if this airline closes close shop soon. Not only is their safety record being questioned now, their service simpy sucks. And this is happening while Malaysia is the chair of ASEAN when there would be numerous meetings across Malaysia.

Awful airline & dishonest

Awful airline. Delayed by 11 hours getting to Heathrow as saigon to Kuala Lumpur flight was over an hour taking off so misses our connecting flight to London. We were put in a hotel but such poor communication from the airline made this an ordeal. Oh and if you expect any compensation from them await the lies and denial stating "operational issues' so you will get nothing. Seriously, book with any other carrier as Malaysia Airways are truly awful. Never again will I fly with them.

felt unsafe and uncared for

We were seated next to a passenger who as soon as we were seated was sniffing, sneezing and coughing. We were so concerned we put on FFP2 masks and reported his actions to staff. They spoke to him and issued a mask which he refused to wear. We spoke to the staff again, having challenged the passenger, pointing out that they had announced that their primary responsibility was to keep passengers safe. This they did not do as they took no further action saying the plane was full and therefore we could not be moved. We did not feel safe! We reported this event to the airline, but having investigated this for three weeks have done nothing. We will never use this airline again as their staff were unable to deal adequately with this situation.
