Founded in 1984, Xiamen Airlines (MF) is China's first privately owned airline. It is owned, in part, by China Southern Airlines (CZ). Xiamen Airlines is headquartered in Xiamen, Fujian Province, and operates from hubs at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN), Fuzhou Changle International Airport (FOC) and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH). The carrier is part of the SkyTeam alliance and flies to about 70 destinations. The majority of these are domestic destinations, but the airline also flies to 13 countries in Asia, Oceania and Europe.

So bad experience. We requested three seats together due to young kids 3months in advance. They confirmed our request then the flight was rescheduled and the seats were gone without notifying us. So annoying and frustrating that they couldn’t arrange different seats together so we had to pay extra at check in to sit together. And they refused to refund anything after we contacted them for several times. Extremely disappointing.…

Booked flights on their website which wasn't the easiest but price was ok. Melb to Xiamen return and Xiamen to Taipei return $1200. Seats average as I lost connection to my buttocks after 4 hours. Food barely ok, cabin was way too hot,booked window seat but they dim cabin and windows even though it is middle of the day so couldnt see out of window anyway, Airlines that do this on midday flights really annoy me. Inflight entertainment very ordinary for non-Chinese.Cabin crew not the friendliest staff but efficient. We did not enjoy checking in woman coughing up and spitting into bin at Xiamen whilst checking us in though. Meal on flight back to Melb was inedible for all 4 of us and we were hungry. Love the "you are under surveillance "announcements on plane makes you feel so special. Get the feeling non-Chinese not their target customer. Flights left and arrived pretty well as scheduled. Sadly I will look elswhere in future as I was hoping for a better experience.…

The worst company to fly with. They can’t speak English and only worry about people who are from China. I got a seat next to a baby and his father and he peed on the seat. It smelled bad and the father changed his diaper next to me. I asked for a different seat and they said i could sit at the back next to the toilet.. They didn’t speak English to me. They also took my powerbank because it was too big but they didnt show me the rules in english only in Chinese. They treated me very bad and i would never fly with them again. Oh and they also only have a burger king at the airport..when i got my backpack at the airport in amsterdam, it had damage as well.…

DO NOT book with Xiamen Airline. Customer service is the WORST. Xiamen cancelled my flight 2 weeks before travel and prices went up $600 for me to book with another airline. I later booked another flight with Xiamen Airlines and when I got to the airport they wouldn't ticket me because their system shows older reservations. I wanted time and money flying to LAX to not be able to get on my flight. I tried to get a refund for my $900 and still have not been successful. Do not book with Xiamen Airlines.…
