The busiest airport in the Caribbean when measured by passenger traffic, Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) is located three miles southeast of the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan. In 2014, 8.6 million passengers flew into and out of the airport, which has two runways and two terminals. More than 20 airlines operate at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, which is also known as Isla Verde International Airport. These include American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and JetBlue Airways, which has designated the airport as a focus city. The airport also serves as a major gateway to other Caribbean islands.
