Me and my family had the pleasure of exploring Hiroshima with Masa as our tour guide, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Masa had extensive knowledge of the area's history, culture, and hidden gems! Every stop along the tour was very engaging and informative— no matter if we were visiting historical landmarks or listening to heart-wrenching anecdotes, Masa's enthusiasm and expertise were evident, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for my family. Beyond the planned itinerary, Masa was also accommodating to our interests and spontaneous questions, making the experience with the story she shared of the A-bombed girl and recommendations worthwhile. Her professionalism and warmth made the tour feel like exploring with a knowledgeable friend rather than a typical guide— In general, my family and I had a wonderful time in Hiroshima.

          Yuka is a great guide
Yuka was a great guide - easy to understand, very nice and had a lot of knowledge. She was great with the kids (3 and 9) and understanding their tempo and interest.

From planning the tour up to the actual activity, Yoshi was a big help in getting to know Nagasaki city. We went to Mt. Inasa, Peace Park, Ground Zero, Spectacles Bridge, and 26 Martyrs - we covered a lot in an afternoon

Great snapshot into all the amazing things that Osaka has to offer!
We were in Osaka for a short time and this tour was the perfect way to see this amazing place. Harry was so accommodating, attentive and most friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to others, we throughly enjoyed ourselves.

Amazing tour and guide in kyoto
The tour was a great experience. Really glad we booked a tour with out guide, Kazu. We saved so much time due to him knowing how to navigate the city. He was also very knowledgeable about each of the locations we booked and really added to each location we went to! We ended up having some extra time after our tour itinerary so Kazu guided us to some extra places afterwards! Would definitely recommend booking if you want to explore kyoto!

Excellent day in Kyoto with Masaki-san
This tour of Kyoto was excellent. Masaki-san offered excellent communication as soon as we booked our trip and worked with us planning the perfect itinerary for our day in Kyoto. He was always prompt and polite in all communication leading up to the trip. He picked us up from our hotel right on time and we had a full day of sightseeing. He is very knowledgeable and it was great to get a locals perspective throughout the day. He was very accommodating when we needed to stop for the restroom, to have a drink or reapply sunscreen. He planned a lovely ramen lunch midday after asking what types of food we wanted. Per his suggestion, we used a combination of subway and taxis to get around the city, and this was a very efficient way to travel in terms of timing. We even had some extra time leftover to add an additional unplanned stop, which was a pleasant surprise. Masaki kept us moving right along without feeling rushed. Overall, we had an excellent time on this tour and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a friend or family!

          Great experience
Excellent guide and tour. Thank you so much. We highly recommend this tour for a first time visit to Osaka. It gave us some history and a sense of how the city works. We also were able to get valuable tips for our next stop in Japan.

          Great time touring with Chizuko!
Thank you Chizuko for your detailed planning! You have amazingly planned out our itinerary accordingly to our request and helped us book dinner reservations. Your recommendation for omakase sushi course is spot on. We love it! Even though it was a hot day we enjoyed our tour to Dazaifu and to Nazoin.

Fascinating and friendly intro to Kanazawa
The tour was a blast. Our guide Hiroko was amazing! She emailed before the tour to get an idea of what kinds of things we wanted to see and then made a very efficient plan to maximize our time together. Kanazawa is fascinating and beautiful, and Hiroko showed us her deep knowledge of the city’s art, culture, and history. She was warm, friendly, and engaging for the entire walk.

          Great tour guide for Tokyo!
We had a wonderful half-day tour of three shrines/temples in Kyoto. Shu was a great guide, very knowledgeable of the city, the history of the places we visited, and how to make the most of the time we had for the tour. Shu took really good care of us, going above and beyond being a guide and helping us with transportation, plans for future sightseeing, and more. We recommend Shu as a guide to anyone visiting Kyoto, and this TripAdvisor channel for booking tours!

          Osaka and Dotonbori
Maya contacted us prior to meeting us assuring us she would be there waiting once we disembarked. True to her word she was there on time. We decided to do this visit on foot using public transport as we only had four hours and the traffic is pretty bad. She was very friendly and patient with some of our slower walkers and navigated the subway and trains like an expert. She was extremely knowledgeable and made our Osaka Castle visit very enjoyable and memorable. We then visited the Dotonbori district for a bit of lunch and a visit to a hidden away shrine before heading back. Maya was a pleasure to be with and would highly recommend her

Our guide, Hiro Chikata, suggested an itinerary beforehand which we liked, also advising us it was subject to change as we might wish. Hiro was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our many questions. He also knew the transportation systems very well so we were able to maximize our coverage and time. After visiting the Tsukiji Outer Market we proceeded to the Imperial Palace where Hiro knew foreign ambassadors would be arriving by horse drawn carriage to present their credentials to the Emperor and we were able to witness the rare event which had only been announced the previous evening due to security protocols. We also went Asakusa to visit the Shrine and take in the view of the area from the top of the Asakusa Tourist Information Center. Hiro then took us to lunch at a wonderful small sushi restuarant after which we proceeded to Shibuya and the Meiji Jingu Shrine. We then walked down Omotesando Street and through a shopping mall there before parting ways. Hiro actually stayed longer than he was scheduled to and made sure we got back on the correct subway line before leaving us. We never would have experienced and learned about what we did had we done it on our own. We highly recommend Hiro if you want an excellent tour of Tokyo

Delighted to learn that you are satisfied with the Tokyo Full-Day Tour of JGA. You were very lucky to grab an opportunity to see the first horse-drawn credentials dedication ceremony this autumn held in the Imperial Palace. Since the Sushi Bar we went to has only 8 chairs, I have invited very limited guests only. It has well preserved the Edo nigiri tradition. HIRO

My 17 year old son, in Tokyo for two weeks of language school, joined me for a full day private tour with Eriko. Eriko was prompt, organized, approachable and friendly. We let her pick the itinerary and weren’t disappointed as we went from Buddhist shrine, to anime district, to Shinto shrine to a fabulous lunch in a hip shopping district. Eriko shared history with facts - while checking in to adjust her depth of details to our personal liking. Eriko was also willing to share a bit about her own life in Japan when we asked. This made for more interesting conversation about Japanese culture and history. Thank you Eriko and JGA for making our day tour in Tokyo awesome. I am looking forward to the next guides we plan to meet in Nara and Kyoto.

We booked our private full day tour for 0930 the day after we arrived to get an early overview of Tokyo and, as first timers to Japan, learn how to use the Tokyo subway and see some of the major sights early in our stay.
Andy was a great guide and wonderfully patient as we were pretty tired.

He was in touch as soon as we booked the tour before our arrival and met all our sightseeing requests, provided a detailed itinerary prior, met us at our hotel, took snaps during the tour and forwarded them a few hours later.

He gave us an excellent cultural overview and lots of tips to make our holiday ahead much easier in Japan.

It's a great tour, but if you're just after an early orientation on your first day in Tokyo to learn the ropes, we'd recommend taking the half day tour, or take the full day tour on your second day. But the full day tour was fantastic and we slept very well that night.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Unfortunately, the weather was not good, and it rained at the last minute, but I'm glad it didn't turn out to be too bad and we were able to enjoy the tour. Tokyo's subways don't have many escalators or elevators, making changing between subways a chore. sorry. I agree with your opinion because the tour the day after arriving in Japan is very tiring. I had guests who came to Japan early in the morning and then went on tours, which were very surprising. If you have a chance to come to Japan again, I hope you can enjoy the tour at your leisure two days after your arrival. Andy

We booked the full day tour on the second day in Tokyo to learn and see as much as possible about this fascinating City. Seky our guide met us at our hotel at 9am. Seky was excellent and brought us to many of the sites while explaining their history and cultural significance. The six hour tour was exactly what we’d hoped for and could not recommend this enough especially if you’re lucky enough to have Seky as your guide.

Seizo Kaminto and my husband corresponded in email many months ahead of time, till Seizo came up with a very well-planned itinerary taking trains and subways around Tokyo. We landed early at Haneda, he’s been early as well and introduced himself and gave us an overview of the day’s plans. Plans had to change slightly because our young son got very tired walking and we keep requesting to sip cold drinks in cafes due to the July summer heat. We did not anticipate it would be very, very hot. The trains and subways seem complicated for us to take on our own, we could not have figured out how to get around without his help. He was extremely helpful and he patiently explained to us the train stops and how it connects to the next train line. We were able to see the outside of the Imperial Palace, the historic Asakusa and the entrance to the Meiji Shrine… all while explaining Japan’s wonderful history and even extra (making it more fun and relevant to us!). It was important for us to see the Pokemon Cafe, the Anime District, and the Happy Pancake. Seizo gladly and patiently granted our wish despite, moved from store to store to find the specific toys my son was looking for. He is just excellent! We are very lucky to have Seizo as our guide.

It was my pleasure to guide you in Tokyo including Pokemon Cafe and Akihabara and I was very relieved that your son could buy the specific toys he was looking for. I wish you and your family the very best for the future. Best Regards Seizo Kamiuto

My guide Nobuo Kokure was extremely knowledgeable about all of the locations visited from Imperial Palace to Temples, Shrines, markets and shopping streets. His english was excellent and he had a wonderful and welcoming demeanour. I would thouroughly recommend this tour as it can be adapted to suit your own requirements. I have visited Japan many times before but it was amazing to go to places i hadn’t seen before. I have only ever used the Yamanote line which does a giant loop of the city and had never ventured into the Metro subways but with Nobuo’s help I now feel confident to use the Metro solo. Great tour!!

Hakura was simply the best tour guide we have encountered during our two-month Asia visit, which included Việt Nam and Cambodia. She speaks English like an American (she is married to one) and is extremely knowledgeable and well organized. She suggested a great one-day itinerary for us and guided my wife and me (two 70-something Chicagoans) expertly through the mysteries of Tokyo public transit. We loved every minute of her tour, especially a dining experience at a restaurant frequented by locals. We only wish we had scheduled more tour days with Haruka — she’s that good. Hiring Hakura was one of the best decisions of our trip.

We were a family of four adults completing our tour of the region with a two day first time stopover in Tokyo. Booking a private tour with a licensed guide - Andy was the best thing we could have done to get a sense of the beauty and history of Tokyo. Andy had planned out our day to hit the highlights we wanted to see and he added a few of his favourites to our day that really made it very special, the lights on the trees at one of the gardens (sorry, I don't have the name, see picture). I highly recommend a guided tour when visiting Tokyo, and with so much to see, we will do another guided tour next time we are back.

Thank you for your very nice review. Yes, it was the best time to enjoy Autumn Leaves in Tokyo. We enjoyed them at the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, and Rikugien Park where we enjoyed the illuminated trees. It was a very warm and wonderful time to spend with your close family. Please come again in early April when the cherry blossom trees are beautiful. Andy

We had an amazing two days with our flexible and knowledgeable guide Kazu Hakata. He had excellent communication before the trip and also organised a tea ceremony for us. He changed the itinerary around the typhoon so that we were indoors during the very rainy parts. Kazu could answer our many questions from life in modern Japan and the many historical aspects to this beautiful city. Highly recommend.

Thank you very much for your kind message. Even during typhoon day, we could manage to visit many places without disturbed much. We saw Shinto Marriage Ceremony at Meiji shrine, enjoyed retro area, and very calm Rikugi en park. We think we were very lucky. Hope you will return again to Japan and explore new charmes. Thank you. KAZU

A wonderful day spent with an exceptional tour guide. I have been fortunate enough to have done a decent amount of travelling, but I have never had an experience like the one with Kazuo! 2 weeks in advance of the booking he started gathering information to create an itinerary with recommended stops and food! He answered all of our questions and ensured we were well prepared before we arrived. On the tour day he was excellent at navigating the crowds and ensuring our time was well spent - he also takes great pictures! Thank you for a wonderful day Kazuo! If you get him as your guide consider yourself very lucky 😊

Thank you very much for the good review of my guide service. Since you were so kind, respectful and considerate from the beginning of our correspondence, I could be enthusiastic about preparing your itinerary and guiding on the tour date. I was also surprised that you and your wife quickly mastered the use of chopsticks at a ramen restaurant. I appreciate you giving a word of prize as to my photo taking technique. You may enjoy exploring Japan not only in Tokyo but also in other major cities. Please have a wonderful day! Kazuo
