This was a cool side trip. Because the road to Denali was washed out, the Parks bus couldn't get all the way in, so we opted for this jeep tour. We had 6 couples, and they gave each of us an enclosed jeep, with a guide in there jeep at the front and back of the column. We communicated via CB. Our guides Joe & Anna were excellent, and once the group got comfortable talking on the CB's, it was fun. We drove inland, saw moose, porcupines, caribou, and excellent views of Denali. Our weather was perfect. It's very dusty once you leave the main highway. If it's raining or really cloudy, wouldn't suggest this tour. Otherwise- go for it!

Denali Jeep excursion is a must when visiting Denali National Park and Preserve! We did the 7:30am tour on 7/30/22 and it exceeded our expectations. Patrick and Anna were awesome!!! My husband and I throughly enjoyed listening to Patrick talk about everything the knowledge just blew me away. Both Anna and Patrick were extremely helpful with answering all the questions asked and taking pictures of who ever asked. It’s also wonderful to drive the Denali Hwy in something that’s not ours… This Excursion is a must I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!!

My mom and I too the Denali Jeep excursion on June 13, 2022. When we first got to the facility (which is across the street from the Princess Denali Wilderness Lodge) we were met with so many friendly faces and we got such a warm welcome. We told them we were there for the excursion and they promptly got us checked in (after a minor scare, but the AWESOME staff found us a jeez and got us going!) The tour was absolutely incredible, the views from the highway were to die for, the weather was incredible, and the Jeeps were all very clean and well kept. Our tour guides, Kaylee and Tommy, were both very fun and knowledgeable.
Kaylee was the tour guide that drove us to pick up the Jeeps (she was also on the Jeep drive) she was so kind and very knowledgeable about Denali and the highway we got to drive. She told my mom and I we would find a moose on the drive (and she pulled through like the AMAZING human she is!). She gave so much great information on the drive and laughed at all my mom and I’s corny jokes. Kaylee is defiantly a rockstar!
Tommy drove the lead jeep on our excursion. He had some amazing stories from his time in Alaska as well as having some incredible knowledge and facts about the area. During the tour Tommy was very engaging with everyone and made us feel so comfortable while we were out on the highway.
In all this was an amazing experience and a core memory for me that I will never forget! Thank you so much Kaylee and Tommy for making the Jeep excursion a night I will never forget! You both totally made our vacation amazing!

The skies had a low ceiling the day we took this tour so we couldn't see Denali or the other mountain ranges that run beside the tour route. Also didn't see any wild animals. Didn't matter. Our guide Jeff was so knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the journey. We did eventually see a few glaciers when the sky lifted for a bit. Everyone is connected with CB radios which adds to the entertainment factor. The Jeeps are in excellent condition and everyone has a different color vehicle. If you're in the Denali National Park area, highly recommend spending a half day taking this trip!

“The guides were good, the stops were guide, the views were great.” That’s what the teenagers said. Makes it a win! Five in our family stuffed in a Jeep, “Red Lobster” and we had a great time. Tommy and Kylie were a lot of fun and kept the evening moving along. Time flew by and we were fortunate to be in a group of Jeeps that all contributed to conversation on the CB’s as we drove along. Saw moose and porcupine along the way. Stopped to observe the golden eagles. Recommend! Worth mentioning that they offered us a second Jeep (since more Jeeps were available - but we declined)!

Driving the Jeep was an easy way to see the landscape. It was a little cloudy the day we went out but our tour guide did everything in his power to make the trip the best. We stopped at photo opportunities and picked wild blueberries. The guide also shared his pictures of previous days when it was clear, with the group. All through the drive the guide was commentating on local history and wild life.

Day was overcast with a little sun and light showers. This was offset by a tour guide that was determined to make the best of it. Fun to drive a Jeep on a road full of potholes , rocks and mud. There were 3 vehicles in this group. Took turns taking the lead on the way back. Plenty of stops for pics when the sun peeked out. Plenty of snacks and water. Tour guide was excellent. Gave us very helpful tips of immediate area attractions.

We rode the train into Denali so we decided to rent a Jeep for 4 hours to be able to tour independently. This rental was the best experience. The process was fast, thorough and friendly. The shuttle driver was prompt and made sure we understood how it would work. Our kiddo forgot her iPad case in the shuttle and on the day we were departing (we didn’t notice it was missing until the day we were leaving) one of the employees used her personal car to drive to a different property it was mistakenly returned to. They really went above and beyond and I can’t thank them enough for going the extra mile for us. Highly recommend this company!

Great way to explore the outer park. My family took a quick trip on the Alaskan train and had no transportation and was a great alternative to see some of the park with hotel pickup. Kendra was great at helping facilitate the excursion. Keaton did a well as the guide. Saw a moose on the side of the road and took some great family pictures. Highly recommend the excursion.

A well run jeep tour where you get to see gorgeous scenery. Unfortunately, we only saw one moose that was quite far away. We did see another close up during our van ride back to the lodge! Tommy and Kylee were great tour guides and provided a really fun tour on a beautiful Alaska evening.

Is it better to go in a jeep tour evening or morning in late August?
How far do you go into the park? Are you allowed to go farther than they allow tourists driving their cars? Thanks. Josh

We were at Denali Princess Lodge, but it was part of our cruise pkg, so I don't know the cost. I did see many other places one could stay.

Yes they stop along the way at the best picture spots. Also, they have a bathroom break at a campground about halfway through. You also get snacks along the journey.
