Highly recommend. We are seasoned Aruba travelers. We booked and paid for the Champagne brunch snorkel trip online. Confirmation info and ticket was emailed. You meet in front of the Pelican pier at the Octopus stand at 8:45. They have it to a science. The crew rolls in and unloads the supplies to the catamaran/Octopus and the skid boat drops off the person with her phone checks everyone in. By that time, 14 at a time embarks on the Squid boat and takes you over to the Octopus x two for our cruise meaning aprox. 28 people onboard. We sailed at 9:00. The Pelican tours next door on the pier had 2 trip tours at a time going with lines and lines of people. If you want a smaller crowd of people, Octopus is the perfect choice. They popped one bottle of champagne...(that was heard) and gave a round of souvenir plastic glasses of Champagne punch. After that they offered rum and vodka etc. Muffins and chicken salad roll bites and bagel pesto Italian ham bites next. The first snorkel stop was 45 minutes. We were lucky because there was a huge school of fish. Next stop was the ship wreck for 30 minutes. Lunch was a sandwich and fruit. Again lucky because we saw a sea turtle swim by. The captain and crew were very personable. There is no way this trip will disappoint.

My husband and I have taken the afternoon sailing/snorkeling cruise many times over the years and we’ve always enjoyed it. This year we booked the afternoon sail but they a few days prior to let us know that there were not enough persons booked so they switched us to the brunch cruise which was fine. Although we do still prefer the afternoon sail over the brunch sail. But, we just go with the flow on vacation😊. Our captain was Ray and his co-captain I believe her name was Gina. They did a great job. Ray is the son of the original owner, Jethro so it was great talking with his son. We have always enjoyed this boat because of it’s smaller size and non crowded atmosphere. Please keep in mind that this is generally not one of those crazy or wild party type cruises which is why we choose this cruise. We don’t even snorkel but we just enjoy the ride and being out on the water. I believe that there were only about 8 passengers total on this particular morning so we were definitely taken care of very well. The cocktails were plentiful and the brunch items were nice. Although, I was still really wanting my favorite Gouda cheese sandwich that Jethro always provided. They were simple but always so tasty! We will definitely be back again!

I’ve been back to Aruba more than 20 times, since living there as an expat kid at the Lago refinery. This was the best of the many snorkel/sail trips I’ve done!! Easy booking on line & fast check in. Janine had mimosas waiting for us as we boarded. Pieter the captain got the sails up right away, and off we went to Malmok for our first snorkel. The snorkel gear was top notch and we felt very safe. Manuel kept the drinks flowing, as well as some lovely muffins and canapés enroute to our first stop. The catamaran has lots of shade areas, as well as sunny comfy seats at the stern, and a rope hammock area at the bow. There were 12 of us on board, as opposed to 30+ on the other boats. The crew were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Great music selection too!! More snacks and drinks after our snorkel. Our second stop was at the Antillia, a scuttled WW2 freighter, that’s a very popular dive/snorkel site. Afterwards we had delicious sandwiches and bevies, on our sail back to the pier. We left and arrived back at the pier on time, sailed not motored, and thoroughly enjoyed our morning!! Highly recommend the Octopus for your Aruba adventure!

The crew on the boat was sick, which made me feel all types of disgusting. They were sneezing, coughing while serving food and drinks. The boat is a smaller catamaran which is nice so it feels more personalized, but overall it wasn’t the best. The drinks were made down under in a room so you don’t really know exactly what they are putting in them. They put the drinks in a cute cup, but mine had lipstick on it from another person. So clearly they don’t clean the cups. The food consists of: blueberry muffin, mini chicken salad wrap, pesto bread with tomato, a cold cut sandwich and a fruit skewer. Not exactly a filling brunch.
The best part was the snorkeling. The first area is very close to the shoreline of Aruba so basically if you had your own snorkel equipment you could snorkel and get there for free. The other spot was the shipwreck, which was very cool. Overall, I wouldn’t do this again.

We booked the early trip (leaving at 9) and I guess that was too early for most because our trip only had 13 people which sweetened the experience even more. There are two snorkeling stops. The first is just off the coast near the lighthouse. Lots of fish to see. We even saw an octopus at this spot. Beverages are severed on the way to all stops with endless refills. Food is severed in small portions throughout the trip. The way they spread it out makes it perfect with the last two servings being a sandwich and fruit. The second snorkel stop is a shipwreck. This was awesome to see. There are tons of fish and two resident sea turtles which we saw. Rocke and the Captain were fantastic hosts. Accommodating to everyone’s needs and kept us with a drink in hand when not swimming.

I had high expectations for this excursion but unfortunately it did not live up to it. The pictures made it seem like it was going to be a small group of people lounging on a Catamaran sipping champagne. The reality was a very crowded not very nice Catamaran that only went to 2 snorkeling spots. The first spot Malmok was very pretty but didn’t have a lot of marine life to see. The second spot was the Antilla shipwreck which was extremely crowded with other boat tours so we had to wait to get into the water. Once we finally did get in the water we only had about 10 minutes to snorkel before we had to get back on the boat. I would have liked to explored more of the wreck but we were only allowed to snorkel in a very small area and again not much marine life. The Mimosas weren’t very good. You could tell that it wasn’t real orange juice, more like Tang and cheap champagne. The food was just ok nothing spectacular. And lastly, I went on this excursion solo and the staff did not attempt to talk to me the entire trip so I felt very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this excursion.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations on our Champagne Brunch trip. The number of people on board our catamaran is different every day. We can accommodate up to 45 people but we cap off at 34 people. Sometimes we have 10 people on board and sometimes 34. Our snorkel trips always go to 2 snorkel spots as is mentioned on our website. Depending on the available buoys we sometimes have to wait until one is available. The waiting time shouldn't be taken of the snorkeling time. We will discus this with our crew. Usually we stay 30-45 minutes at a snorkel spot. We do nut use Tang for our Mimosas. We indeed do not use Fresh Orange juice, please bear in mind we do not mention this on our website. We use Orange juice obtained from juice concentrate. Our crew should have talked to everyone on boarding, regarding if you joined us solo or with a group. In our next meeting we definitely will mention this to our crew. Hopefully we can welcome you on board next time you are in Aruba!

Spent a perfect first morning in Aruba snorkeling and sipping champagne. While we passed a few other boats on the water offering a similar excursion, they looked packed full of passengers - we were so thankful to be with Octopus, where they limited the number of passengers so we had more space. Not only did it feel so much safer, but the experience was more intimate and personal, which we really enjoyed. The food was good, the drinks were flowing, and the snorkeling was fabulous! Of all the companies out there offering a trip like this one, I highly recommend going with Octopus!

Octopus Aruba offered the perfect morning excursion for anyone looking to experience Aruba’s pristine waters. I expected to catch plenty of views of the coast, but I was blown away by the views down below. Our trip started with fresh mimosas which really set the mood prior to our first stop ( just off shore ) where we were issued our snorkel gear and a short safety lesson. The water was only about 8 feet deep which was perfect for first time snorkelers including our son, who was able to join us in the cutest little life jacket provided by Octopus. I was nervous about having a toddler out in open water but the seas we calm and our captain and his deck hand kept a very watchful eye over all of us which was reassuring. Our second stop was just a bit further out from sure where we were able to visit an actual WWII shipwreck! The reef that sprang up around it was incredible, complete with schools of fish and sea turtles that swam right up to us. The wreck was about 60 feet down and we could see clear through to the bottom. Truly breathtaking. With so much swimming you’re bound to work up an appetite which Octopus was fully prepared for. Lots of snacks, sandwiches and fresh water were provided to keep us fully fueled for action. The entire outing lasted just under 3 hours. Just long enough to do everything without feeling rushed, and still leaving plenty of room to do other things during the day. Definitely glad we had the chance and everyone should add Octopus Aruba to their bucket list for the ideal Aruban getaway.

10/10 would recommend this experience to anyone who love sun, water, snorkeling, or booze! This was a beautiful day and a great experience! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They were responsive to our needs and questions and very knowledgeable about everything. You can also ask them for anything you need throughout the cruise, even if that particular food has already been passed around. The food was good: we got blueberry muffins (the BEST I've ever had, no lie), a tuna wrap, bagel with smoked salmon, fruit kabob, and maybe one more small dish. We got to see a lot of fish, particularly in the 2nd spot. They provide all of the equipment and it's very easy to use/do. Even the music was nice and festive and definitely contributed to the vibe/experience. GO ON THIS CRUISE! It was awesome!!!
My only knock was that the price, in my opinion, was a bit high for the experience. The brunch items are more like appetizers or heavy snacks and it wasn't the most filling meal. Additionally, I personally am not a drinker, so it's not as if I benefited from free drinks. They do have non-alcoholic options, however, so if you would like to go but don't drink, don't let that hold you back!
Heads up: one of the snorkeling spots (the sunken SS Antilla) has a very strong current. If you're not a strong swimmer it may be difficult to get your bearings to be able to snorkel and see the wildlife.

Thank you so much for taking the time out to leave such a nice review! Our crew aims to give every guest high quality service and make sure everyone is having a wonderful time on their adventure with us. Our two snorkel stops represent a small piece of Aruban History and Aruban Beauty and we aim to make sure that our guests can get a little taste of everything our island has to offer :) Aruba is one of the windward islands of the Caribbean, the wind is something we cannot control. The wind influences the current at sea as well. We have days with strong currents and days where the water is so clear you can see the ship wreck on board the catamaran. Life jackets and floaters can be provided by our crew. Looking forward to seeing you on the Octopus again in the near future!
