Itinerary
Make your way to the Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center, located just a few minutes' drive from downtown Nassau. Your admission ticket is good for opening hours, between 9am and 5pm daily. The center was created by Jamaican horticulturist Hedley Edwards, who later brought the famous Caribbean flamingos from the southern Bahamas as a contrast to the abundant greenery.

Explore the 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of verdant plant life and tropical gardens at your own pace. Take a break on a limestone bench hidden in a secluded corner, cross a footbridge as a kingfisher wades below and snap photos of the informal gardens. Watch the Bahamian ducks and swans paddle around the pond as freshwater turtles sun themselves on the rocks. While walking the Gardens, friendly and informed staff will answer questions while you explore.

Light refreshments are available at the canteen, and there is a gift shop featuring garden- and nature-themed souvenirs.

Your ticket includes admission to the 'Flamingo Experience', occurring at 10:30am, 2pm and 4pm daily and featuring the Bahamas' National Bird, the Caribbean Flamingo.

Pathetic, Dirty and a WASTE of Money

On a Disney cruise and this looked like a nice relaxing way to spend a few hours. I was wrong. Did they like kill and eat all the animals?? Cages empty, cages dirty, park dirty. The lame bird show was the only small highlight -...More

City Tour and Ardasta Gardens

Our family was not all that impressed with the Gardens/zoo. There are only a handful of animals: pigs, a raccoon, iguana, flamingos, monkeys, birds, snakes, and turtles. The tour guide wanted the group to stay together.More

I've been to Nassau several times and have not really been a fan - until this trip! I bought tickets for the zoo prior to our cruise stop on Viator and took a cab to the zoo when we arrived. I was with 2 teen...More

Fun experience!

We were a little hesitant because we had been told it was a little run down. It isn't an amazing zoo but there are plenty of animals and gardens to see. BUT the highlight was walking right along side the flamingos and watching their show....More
