Puerto Vallarta Cooking Class: Market Shopping, Lesson and Tastings
From US$85.00
Overview
Feast upon the explosive flavors of Mexican cuisine during a 5-hour cooking class in Puerto Vallarta.  Shop in a vibrant market for colorful produce; visit a traditional tortilla factory; and learn of regional culinary customs with a knowledgeable guide. Gain insight into customary cooking techniques with a local master chef, discovering recipes like fish ceviche, and taste tantalizing samples of tequila on this insightful and interactive culinary tour.
What to Expect
Greet your knowledgeable guide at the atmospheric Galerias Vallarta Shopping Mall and climb aboard a comfortable minivan to journey to a bustling outdoor market. Converse with vendors as you peruse stalls laden with exotic produce and unfamiliar fruits.
Next, visit a local tortilla factory to purchase the dough needed for fresh tortillas. With bags bursting with fresh produce, journey to the house of the master chef to begin your culinary class. Depending on which day of the week it is, learn to make a delicious and distinct main course inspired by the gastronomic traditions of the region; regularly features dishes include salsa de molcajete (a smooth sauce of fresh and fiery chiles), tacos and fresh fish ceviche. If you cook mole poblano, learn about the 27-ingredient combination that composes this spectacular sauce.
Conclude your cooking with tequila and mescal tasting session before sitting down to dine on the fruits of your labour. Converse with your companions and the chef as you enjoy the true taste of Mexico. Relax during the return journey to the tour’s original departure point.

Enrique, our guide/chef/host took us to the market and taught us how to choose the best fresh fish and shellfish then it was a short drive to his home to prepare a very delicious 4 course meal. A really great day and good value.More
