What to Expect
In addition to sandy-white beaches, Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula contains some of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites. Most tours only focus on one attraction at a time, but this unique combo visit will allow you to tick off two archaeological parks in a single day. Plus, groups are limited to only 10 people, so you’ll be guaranteed an intimate excursion. You’ll enjoy comfortable hotel pickup from Playa del Carmen, where you’ll settle back for a scenic drive to Chichen Itza. Get ready for an in-depth guided tour through the Maya ruins, which includes well-preserved attractions, such as the Temple of the Jaguar and the Ball Court, which once hosted deadly athletic tournaments. You’ll have time to explore relics at your own pace before heading to a local cenote, considered sacred by the Mayas, for a refreshing, one-of-a-kind swim. After a savory buffet lunch, you’ll head to Ek Balam, where another informative guided tour awaits. Explore intact Maya monuments, as you learn about the advanced civilization and wander the ancient grounds. Your trip ends with hotel drop-off, so you’ll only have to focus on the sights.

This was a very, very good tour. Our tour guide, Ulysses, was very knowledgeable and very personable. He kept everyone informed in both English and Spanish. He made the tour very interesting. Chichen Itza is a very large area so expect a lot of walking. But the history we

Whilst we had a really enjoyable day and would recommend a day trip to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam to everyone! I would say to be wary booking these tours with Viator as we specifically booked a package that detailed 'small group tour limited to 10', which logically we read to

Response from Francisco V, Owner at Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, and Hubiku Cenote Combo Tour
Responded 26 Sep 2019
We are pleased to know that you were happy with the visit to Chichen-Itza, Cenote Hubiku and Ek Balam, just as you were satisfied with the information provided by your guide. To give a better experience to our customers, each guide takes a small group of up to 10 people to make the visit to the tourist area more personalized and satisfactory, we understand the reason why you booked with us, so that your trip was more pleasant, with few pick-ups and thus be able to be back earlier in your hotel. Likewise, the arrival time in Chichen-Itza is between 9:00 am and 9:30 am to be among the first to arrive to the archaeological site and thus avoid the crowds and the central hours of the day where the heat intensifies. On the other hand, we know that hiking is both cultural as well as fun and that is why we try to keep our clients as comfortable as possible, during the trip and during the visit. We know that the vans that we use in all our tours have a factory design, so for some it can be comfortable and in some other occasions it can be uncomfortable for some. We are sorry to hear that your husband had an awkward situation during the trip because he is 6'3 and verifying the route data of the day of your excursion; the van that was used has a space of up to 18 seats, so the vehicle was not in full capacity since there were only 13 people and there was plenty of space. We offer an apology for any inconvenience you have had during the tour, your feedback helps us to improve and thus be able to provide a better experience and satisfaction to all our customers. Hoping you are well, we are at your disposal for future tours in Riviera Maya and any information or questions we are here to help. Best regards
