Our family of 6 adults enjoys a good outdoor adventure, so we were thrilled with our experience on this tour with Paul.

We were picked up from our hotel and were provided with transport throughout the day (which can be half the battle in Vancouver). Paul took us through our hike in the Lynn Valley and provided us with a lot of colorful and informative commentary that we thoroughly enjoyed. We learned a great deal from him and really enjoyed his time with us.

The lunch stop was one of our favorites on the whole trip, a gem outside of the city near the Pitt Meadows where the biking portion of the tour took place. We were invited to order what we wanted from the menu and the bill was taken care of. It was a beautiful summer day so we ate outside with a gorgeous view, but there are plenty of accommodations inside as well.

The biking portion of the tour may be one of my favorites to date. The path was very easy and open. The flat land and widespread horizons allowed our 10-person group to spread out at our leisure and take our own paces. It was a beautiful and rewarding ride through a farmland area we may never have known about in a city known for its urban and mountain areas.

Myself, my partner, brother and his girlfriend went on the 1 day tour with Paul and we loved it! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone in Vancouver, Paul is full of knowledge about the area and has very carefully selected ideal routes for the tours. We began with a hike then cycling and Paul also provided a delicious lunch. We will definitely do another tour with Paul when we are in Vancouver again. Give this a go if your in Vancouver, we had so much fun and got some great exercise. 5*'s for a really nice guide, Paul offers the whe package with a fantastic service, and great personality to compliment the whole experience.

I booked my parents on this tour to show them what BC has to offer aside from the city of Vancouver, and I sure am glad I did. Because we were picked up right from our hotel, we had all the energy required for the hike in Lynn Canyon which was beautiful but not too difficult, and the tranquil bike ride in the vastness of Pitt Meadows where we saw the gorgeous scenery that us city folks have never seen before. It'd be a shame to come to Vancouver and not explore the great outdoors!

Furthermore, Paul was an amazing guide who was extremely knowledgeable of the environment and the species of trees/wildlife we encountered. He was the cherry on top to an amazing tour, as he truly was a kind and genuine gentleman!

I have nothing but positive memories from this trip, and I highly suggest any visitor to Vancouver to check this tour out - you will see more of BC in this 6.5 hours than you could have hoped for!

If you plan only one activity for your Vancouver trip, THIS IS IT. The entire experience was fantastic. We hiked and saw beautiful trees, greenery, and waterfalls. Paul, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the trees, plant and animal life and shared without it feeling "too educational". The countryside where we rode our bikes was absolutely STUNNING. But, what made our day 10/10 was the tour guide. Yes, the landscape is beautiful, but Paul's knowledge, passion, organization and laid-back friendliness is what made this tour above and beyond for us. 110% recommend. We plan to do the tour again our next time in town.

Paul from Into the Wild tours picked us up from our Downtown Hotel in his van, and we joined 8 -9 other travellers for some time out of Vancouver.
We visited two main locations (Lynn Canyon and Pitt Meadows), where we did a 5 km walk at the former and about a 20Km cycle at the latter. It was a well-paced day with informative commentary, and a ‘paddock to plate’ lunch that was most delicious.
The tour started by travelling over the Lions Gate Bridge and northward to Lynn Canyon . This regional park was established early in the 20th Century, and we joined others on a walk through the park over a sturdy suspension bridge above the Lynn Canyon river and onto 30foot pool (a freshwater pool that you can see right to the bottom). We heard about the different tree species (particularly the Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir and Western Hemlock and their life cycles.
Coupled with stories on how the First Americans used these and other resources of the forest, it made for an interesting 1-2 hours as we walked along well made paths and stairs within the Lynn Canyon Park.
We also heard about bears (black and brown/grizzly) and how they interact with humans. The area has a few black bears (who are relatively harmless) and sometimes can be seen on the trails.
After arriving back at the van, we travelled to Pitt Meadows to the east of Vancouver, and stopped at a store that sold local produce at reasonable prices. There we had an enjoyable lunch and a rest.
A little way down the road we pulled over beside a river and got kitted up with our 24 speed comfort bikes. These were in the back of the van and Paul set them up for us as we chose our helmets. Then off we went alongside the river and through the farmlands. The trail was sealed for some of the way and gravel for other parts. The bikes were suited to the terrain and trail and easy to ride. Paul provided commentary along the way as we enjoyed the fresh air and farmland against the mountain backdrop. We passed blueberry, cranberry, corn and other crops as well as spying evidence of horses and black bears along the path. We turned back towards the van when we got to an equestrian centre (which was having and event) and cycled through farms and along irrigation channels, arriving at the van feeling well exercised and invigorated.
Paul then brought us back to our hotels via Gas Town and some short cuts (to avoid traffic that was starting to build). A most enjoyable day out.

We really enjoyed our hiking and biking tour with Paul. He organized a very professional trip . The hiking was at a really really beautiful location with a fantastic suspension bridge and the bike part of the trip was really well planned loop on a bike trail or very quiet back roads. Lunch was excellent too. It was wonderful to see the beauty just outside the city. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who likes a more active experience

Bring a camera ~ After being picked up right on time from downtown .. Had a Very Fun day walking on the trails of Lynn Canyon through a wonderful forest with rushing streams below, with Paul, our informative and fun guide, and 2 friends from Vancouver and 6 others from Montreal, San Diego, France and England - a great group - A Great way for visitors, and locals alike, to experience, learn about the fantastic surrounding area of Vancouver and enjoy easy exercise in the outdoors .We then headed to Pitt Meadows for a delish picnic lunch before hopping on our bikes (very good bikes) for an easy hour and 3/4 ride along the dykes bordering on cranberry and pumpkin fields, - a wonderful time of year to be there - though it was an overcast day and the surrounding mountain range wasn't visible, Paul gave us a Fabulous day ~ I highly recommend Into The Wild

Myself and two buddies were on a 3-day vacation and had decided we'd like to do some biking and hiking. I contacted Paul and made reservations. Paul picked us up at our hotel and we were off. The first part of the day consisted of hiking through Lynn Canyon. It was raining when we got to the canyon, but continued. Paul offered ponchos to those who needed them. The rain was light and actually added to the ambiance of this beautiful rain forest. Paul's knowledge of biology, botany, and local native culture is extensive. He shares his knowledge in a very conversational way, not as a "prescribed text". The highlight is probably the suspension bridge. The bridge is very stable and comfortable. The scenery is gorgeous. The hike was about 3 miles and there was a section that consisted of climbing some 160 steps. This is not a show stopper and anyone of average physical ability should be able to handle it. There is no rush, so just take your time and enjoy the scenery.

After the hike, Paul drove us to Pitt Meadows where we had a great lunch consisting of sandwiches with fresh deli meet and vegetables. Really hit the spot! After lunch we drove new bicycles and were off. I'd not ridden a bicycle since I got my driver's license some 45 years ago! Needless to say, I had a bit of a problem getting used to all the gears (24 total as I recall!). My friend suggested I stay in 6 or 7, which is what I did. The ride was about 10 miles and what on grassy area, pavement, and gravel. The gravel was soft and, for me, a bit difficult to navigate, but again, not a show stopper.

Scenery along the way was beautiful, but somewhat hindered due to the overcast conditions. We did see plenty of bear "evidence", but did not see any bears.

Paul did a good job keeping the "herd" together, as some of us were more proficient at biking than others! We stopped along the way for photo ops and to learn about the area.

Paul is totally committed to not only his job, but in educating visitors about this incredibly beautiful country.

I look forward to more trips with Paul.

We are extremely happy with the private tour Paul ran for our family reunion. He was able to accommodate our group running from age 6 all the way up to the late 70s. Fifteen minutes in, Paul felt like an old friend. We really enjoyed seeing the major sites by bike.

Overall, the equipment was good. The only downside is that the seats were very hard and a bit uncomfortable for a longer tour.

Highly recommended!
