The crew were very organized and made the boarding process so simple and streamlined just asking for your name and then asking if you wanted a personal photo taken holding their lifesaving ring before getting on board the boat. The Captain knew exactly where to go to see the whales and at times shut down the engine and let us listen to the dolphins on the special underwater microphone . She kept the respectful distance away from the whales and never tried to get too close. We were out on the water for over 3 hours and saw loads of humpback whales, schools of playful dolphins, seals resting on some rocks, and some bald eagles. The crew members were very keen on imparting their wealth of marine knowledge and also pleasant and cheerful making us feel welcome. Coffee and hot chocolate were provided if you wanted any. Our favourite thing was that they emailed us an album of photos they took themselves enabling us to just relax and enjoy the trip and not worry about snapping photos on our cell phones as we don't have an advanced camera. The photos were great and we can share them with our friends and family. I love dolphins so seeing them in large numbers like this was the highlight of the boat trip itself for me. We were in the Ocean Majestic boat (not the Zodiac) which was comfortable and dry.

Thanks you so much for taking the time to leave a thoughtful review! We truly appreciate your feedback. It is great to hear that you found the check-in process smooth and simple. It sounds like you had some incredible, varied marine wildlife sightings! It's awesome that you got to see your favourite, the playful pacific dolphins! Our crew are just as passionate as you for these creatures, which goes along with respect and a sense of protection. We care deeply about ensuring all these species are here to stay. Lovely of you to share your photo package with your friends and family. Once again, thanks so much for joining us, we hope to sail away with you again someday!

We were on the larger Ocean Magestic (not the Zodiac) and it was a good call. The ship was crewed entirely by friendly, competent, knowledgeable women (the captain actually parallel parked the ship when we came back in. I alone gave her a standing ovation). We saw California sealions basking and swimming, several humpback whales spewing, arching and displaying their tails (and our crew knew their names and how to identify them) but overall, my favorite part was the synchronized swimming of acrobatic and friendly dolphins alongside the boat. Several came close to the boat, curious and playful. The weather was beautiful, hot beverages were complimentary (and delicious) and the amount of people onboard was perfect. I wish I could give more stars.

A bit late in writing this review but wanted to take the time to give props to Prince of Whales for an amazing half day Zodiac Tour we did with them out of Telegraph Cove in September. We had an afternoon tour with Captain Chris and it simply exceeded all of our expectations. We found our first Humpback almost immediately after leaving the harbour, and from then on it just flowed as we sailed from one whale to another working our way all the way across Queen Charlotte Strait over to the mainland, where we were greeted by a superpod of over 100 dolphins that joined our zodiac and frolicked alongside the RHIB for almost 20 mins. The grand finale was coming across a humpback surge feeding in a bay on the way back to the Cove. No Orcas this time out, but mother nature but on a great show nonetheless, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout on our trip, well spaced out due to COVID 19 sporting our mask bandanas throughout. A great day, grateful to the team at Prince of Whales for making it happen.

We didn’t have high expectations as we had originally wanted to book a zodiac tour. Our expectations were blown out of the water.
Every minute was filled with whales (especially orcas) which we loved!! The captain was very good at making sure both sides of the boat saw the whales. This is the perfect trip for the whole family and not a bumpy ride at all.
Would highly recommend to anyone who loves whales… we will definitely be back!

We were surprised and delighted to see two Humpback whales as well as Orca, Dall's porpoise, Dolphin and Stella's Sea lions. The whole crew of the boat worked together to make the experience truly magical. I had not expected to see some many different animals so close to the Cove. Sharon and her colleagues worked very hard to make sure we had a good time and learnt about the history of the area and the animals that inhabit it. I would recommend bringing warm clothing as once the boat gets going it get quite chilly even on a warm day.

Hello HaydnM2013,
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience! We are so glad that you got to encounter humpbacks, orcas, porpoise, and sea lions!! Great recommendation about dressing warm, it does get about 10 degrees Celsius colder on the water - which can be misleading on a really hot day. Thank you for coming out and your kind words about the crew! We hope you see you again in the future!

It was a nice sunny calm day, while at Telegraph Cove, we decided at the last minute to do this whale watching trip.
Health & safety were addressed first; both Covid-19 precautions & safety on the water. The boat was at half capacity, we were outside & everyone wore masks at all times.
Our naturalist, Sharon, explained how & where they look for whales.
Captain Chris, did a great job getting us to the whales & respecting a safe distance.
We saw lots of whales; both resident & transient orcas, more humpbacks than we could count, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises, and lots of different birds.
Sharon explained the difference between the 2 groups of orcas.
With the catalogue of whales, she was able to identify the orcas we were watching. and tell us about their family units.
She answered our questions & was as excited as we were at seeing all the wildlife.
It was both educational and wildly entertaining!
A wonderful experience.

We had an amazing breathtaking whale watching trip this Saturday at Telegraph Cove. We went on the Cruiser because we are traveling with the 2-year old. I thought the experience won’t be as great as with the Zodiac, but I Was wrong - It was wonderful! We saw two packs of orcas who were meeting each other for the first time. We were blessed to see them socializing and playing. They were so close and were showing us all their beauty. The captain stopped just right in time so that everyone can have a good view of them. Our guides were very professional and answered all the questions. Later on we saw two humpback whales that showed us their tails and gave us a farewell sound. We also saw a sea lion hunting salmon and beating off hungry seagulls, bald eagles and their nests, seals, and some dolphins. This whale watching tour is a paradise for someone who likes the wildlife.
I’ve been told by many people that the Prince of Whales is the best company to go with for the best whale watching experience. Now I can confirm it with 100% confidence.

Had the most amazing day on the water today! The ocean was so calm! We started off with a showing of humpbacks, then found a cute little pod of orcas. They were having a blast playing! One was even doing something funny by popping straight up in the water and smacking his dorsal fin sideways on the water. The crew was extremely knowledgeable and gave very detailed information when they recognized one of the whales. I highly recommend taking this tour!

We’d never really been interested in taking a whale watching excursion before and since we’ve been back we haven’t stopped raving about the experience! Friends recommended if we were to whale watch that we MUST do it in Telegraph Cove, and they weren’t wrong!
We had hoped to get out on one of the zodiacs however as the weather was pretty rainy and windy we ended up on the larger boat- which was just perfect for the conditions. We saw porpoises, stellar sealions, humpback whales and so many orcas. Every direction you looked there were whales. The captain Chris did an excellent job maneuvering the boat to ensure everyone had equal viewing opportunities.
Sharon was our top deck marine naturalist and was absolutely fantastic! Her knowledge and passion for what she does made it all that much more worthwhile! The boats lower capacity and company’s COVID policies made it feel very safe.
We’ll be sure to come back and take another tour. Sharon, wishing you and your crew bountiful days filled with all kinds of wonderful marine creatures. Thanks for such an awesome adventure!

We were fortunate to see many humpback whales surfacing at a distance. Also saw a large school of white sided dolphins that swam very close to the boat. Unfortunately, we did not see any Orcas on this trip. We were planning to take the larger vessel but when we and a group of thirty, or so, individuals were ready to board, they said the vessel was inoperative because of battery, or alternator problems. The other large vessel, used as a backup, was also inoperable per the captain. Very disappointed group of individuals as Telegraph Cove is a fairly remote location and many individuals were under time constraints or not interested in waiting for the zodiac opportunity. To the staff's credit, and after a lengthy wait, we were able to suit up and take out a zodiac for the event. Would have given the excursion four stars but believe a company should be better prepared for unknown contingencies .

SharkDiver123,
Thanks for sailing with us, and for your review. We truly appreciate any feedback. It sounds like on your scheduled trip there was a sudden mechanical issue with the designated boat. In Telegraph Cove, that is our only operational larger vessel at this time of year, as you joined shortly before closing for the season. We understand that sudden obstacles causing changes to plans can cause stress, especially while travelling. We did everything in our power to get you out on a tour that day, which was successful in sighting whales. For those who were unable to reschedule we provided a full refund. By definition, it is quite difficult to prepare for "unknown contingencies". Emergencies do arise and we prioritize the safety of our guests and crew over anything else. It sounds like you had some great sightings- the pod of Pacific white-sided dolphins riding the waves with you sounds super awesome. Should you consider sailing with us again, we hope we can provide a five-star experience next time.

Hi Flyer!
When I was there last month, they had both but I went out twice and that was on the larger boat both times. The latter can carry about 60 but there were only about 25 of us on board when I was there. I'm not sure of their criteria for using the zodiac - I love both for different reasons!
