Overview
"Ghyll" is the Lakeland word for a mountain stream; scrambling in one is an exhilarating activity for groups young and old. You will climb up spectacular waterfalls, jump in to deep bubbling plunge pools, crawl through tunnels and slide down water polished rock chutes. A full-on wet and wild adventure for everyone! Ghyll Scrambling, gorge walking or canyoning as its sometimes known as is one of the most popular activities in the area. There is no denying it, it ours too. Our main Ghyll scrambling venue is based 10 minutes outside Keswick in the Newlands valley. However, depending on water levels, the group ability and aspirations we may use other venues across the Lake District.

Very well organised trek by The Adventure Element with an excellent local team. I always felt in safe hands during the whole trek but Ben at Adventure Element made sure we were pushing boundaries and always open to new experiences. The trek was the experience of a lifetime and I

Just come back from a 3-day winter skills course with The Adventure Element. Wow, now I know how to use my boots (!) on the hill, crampons, ice axe and a grounding in rope skills. The course also covered navigation, weather and avalanche risk assessment - extremely good value,

Thank you Dr Ben. A lovely review and much appreciated. It was a real pleasure working with yourself and the rest of the group. To have such responsive and fun clients is a real bonus and makes our work so much more enjoyable. We are looking forward to spending more time in the mountains with you on our trail to Morocco. Hopefully, you'll be able to write an equally glowing review! ;0) Thanks Ben
