What to expect
  • Travel independently to the start point in central London. Sit back into your comfortable seat, and have your camera ready for your panoramic tour of top London sights. Journey around the landmark-packed heart of the city, and enjoy great views of such famous monuments as Lord Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey, the latter the setting of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011. See the massive dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral, and snap photos of Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and newer city icons such as the London Eye. Afterward, continue by bus to Buckingham Palace: the official London residence of Britain’s royals since the 19th century. Walk with your guide to the entrance of the palace, a site that’s only open to the public for two months each year. Then, bid your guide goodbye and enter independently as guides are not permitted to accompany you inside. Show your prebooked ticket, and set off on an audio-guided tour of Queen Elizabeth II’s opulent State Rooms. Admire the glittering chandeliers, sumptuous furnishings and other priceless treasures from the famous Royal Collection, and drink in the rarified atmosphere of the history-stepped rooms and halls. Your experience ends when you exit Buckingham Palace, leaving you free to continue exploring London independently or to make your own way back to your hotel.

Derek the guide and Jermaine the driver were absolutely amazing start to finish. Derek is so lovely and knowledgeable and you can totally tell his heart is into this tour from start to finish. Loads of photos taken that you would never just stumble across locations. We also went on Jack the ripper tour same evening with Derek as our guide...amazing bloke! Thanks so much.

Excellent tour. Gavin our guide was exceptional. He made a drama of the whole experience. His knowledge of London and delivery of it was incredible, entertaining, and most enjoyable for the whole family.
This is a great way to get a taste of all the main attractions in central London in a couple of hours. Included was a trip up the Thames giving an alternative view at all the attractions.
The changing of the guard as a spectacle was fantastic and enriched by Gavin’s commentary not only for ourselves in his group but for all in earshot.
Thanks for a wonderful day today.

Disappointed. Poorly organized. I will choose the others his tour next time for sure.

First, the meeting place is inside the coach station sharing one gate with 7 different tours. Boarding is a chaos, if you don't pay attention to the announcement in the noisy background, you will have no idea when to board. Secondly, we sat on the upstairs front, the tour guide only speak at the back with one tiny speaker, the engine noise is so loud and the window shakes make you impossible to hear what he said. Thirdly, after the boat tour, the group split into 3 and they all going to different places. Before leaving the bus, the tour guide start asking for tips already. We join the Buckingham tour, they just kick us off the bus so the other group can move on. So we need to stand on the street to wait for the Buckingham tickets. then you are on your own. If this is what you want, then join this tour.

The perfect way to see the highlights of London
My friend and I recently took part of this tour and have nothing negative to say. Even in the rain, the bus tour was a blast and the Thames River cruise (30min) was a pleasant addition which gave us a different perspective of London. The tour was well organized, and the staff (Steve, Kevin and Katrina) were incredibly helpful. Extra credit goes to the animator, Steve, for sharing his vast knowledge of London and adding a comical twist to the tour! We recommend this tour hands down. Just don’t forget your rain jacket/umbrella!

Great Alternative to Hop On/Hop Off Tours In London
Aug 2018 • Friends
We were a group of 6 who, honestly, primarily selected the tour so we could tour Buckingham Palace (it was sold out on other venues). We were pleasantly surprised! While the queuing to board the bus was a bit chaotic, we soon forgot that as our tour guide (who sounded a lot like Tim Wonnacott) told us about many London landmarks with great theatre and enthusiasm. We took the tour on Monday and were treated to being able to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace (check dates this happens, as it is not every day). The boat tour on the Thames was a high point for me - very comfortable and informative. The tour guide and assistant did a good job managing schedule demands brought on by unscheduled road closures - though we had to hurry a bit at the Tower of London. The tour guide communicated well what we needed to do to get around with a very positive attitude (i.e., their directions were clear). All-in-all I would recommend this to someone wanting to see the major landmarks plus the self-guided tour of Buckingham Palace. One note: two patrons became upset when they did not get their same seats after touring the Tower of London. Seats were not assigned and I do not think that once you sit in a seat that you should expect to be seated there again. We also ended up waiting for one recalcitrant individual who got lost during the changing of the guard. The guides were polite and worked to repatriate that person with the bus (I might have been tempted to leave that person as she ignored the guide and went off to see part of the changing of the guard she was told not to; as a result she got lost). A lovely tour!
One bit of advice - you will be done with your Buckingham Palace tour around 2:30 pm. Plan ahead on what you will do with the rest of your day if you are only there for a day (as we were). If you make your way to Victoria Station you will find food for a quick bite near the station. We wanted to see Westminster Abbey but it closed at 3:30 - we ended up taking the tube over to the British Museum and had a wonderful hour and a half there before it closed.
