Highlights
Secure your entry in advance to The Slide at the Arcelor Mittal Orbit
Go on a tunnel slide ride around Sir Anish Kapoor’s Olympic sculpture
Two viewing decks reveal views of top London landmarks, including The Shard
Enjoy the thrill of traveling down a 583-foot (178-meter) slide
What to expect
On the day of your exhilarating experience, make your own way to The Slide, located approximately 15 minutes walk from Stratford underground station. As you approach the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture, designed by revered architect Sir Arnish Kapoor, gaze at the frenetic tangle of red cables. Opt either to take the stairs or a high-speed elevator to the first of two viewing platforms, from which you’ll enjoy panoramic views of London’s iconic skyline. Use interactive screens to locate landmarks including The Shard, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Canary Wharf, and gain an alternative perspective of London by looking through two shape-shifting mirrors. Then, once you’ve summoned your courage, don a protective helmet, receive a short safety briefing, and prepare to plummet down the world’s tallest, longest, and fastest slide.  Travel through light and dark sections at speeds of up to 15 mph, wind around the sculpture 12 times in a tight corkscrew, and experience gentle curves and thrilling drops. At the bottom, enjoy Stratford’s innovative Olympic Park at your leisure.

Good fun for the big kid in you!
Jun 2021
Visited in June 2021.
Something completely different and great fun for adults who want to do something a little crazy.
Great site, everything around the area still looks new , clean and fresh and views from the top are great.
Slide was fun, only minor gripe was that you book tickets online, then have to queue again to get a paper ticket as others have mentioned. Seems a little pointless.

Something different
We had a fun time today at Stratford. The slide is quick, but highly enjoyable with unexpected turns and plunges into darkness. The staff are very friendly.
The view is good

Great experience
Jul 2021
Great fun going down the slide, excellent staff, covid rules adhered to and the staff made sure everyone followed the rules too. Great photos to buy at the end if you want for a reasonable price. Only down side was if you buy your ticket on line you still have to queue up to exchange to paper ticket, most strange!!. Also they tell you you need a token for the locker which costs £1, but to get the refund you have to re-join the queue to get you £1 back!!

Fun but a bit disorganised
Jul 2021
Going down the slide was a really fun experience and when we went there it wasn't a very busy day luckily. Seems a bit silly that you need to queue to have a guy write you a ticket by hand when you have an online ticket.

I think the staff could have been clearer about the fact that you can first go down the slide and then go and see the viewing deck which is on a different floor. We thought we'd only get to go up once and so wanted to take our phones with us, only to be turned back and told we can go back up after the slide. The staff is very helpful on the ground floor but they give too much detail without being consistent. The staff by the slide was very clear which I guess is the most important thing, you can ignore the rest of the staff mostly.

Don’t accept cash! Even though they tell you to bring £1 coin for the locker!
Jul 2021 • Couples
We was a bit worried when we got there as I looked on my emails for the ticket and we had had an email saying the slide may be closed (received the email 50 minutes prior which I hadn’t checked my emails being out and about sight seeing in London). However, the slide was open and fine. The most frustrating thing was in the email we received with our tickets it specifically says to bring £1 for the locker to leave belongings in, yet they refuse to accept the coin and make you pay on your card even though cash is legal tender and they specifically tell you to bring £1 coin for the lockers! There was a long wait for the slide, but it was fun when you was on it.

Waste of time.
Second time we booked and still got turned away as the weather changed and they have to test the slide. Utterly pointless. Kept us waiting over an hour for that. At least second time we can get a refund and never waste our time again.

Make sure you have time to wait
May 2021
We booked online for an 11:30 am ride but we’re waiting in a queue for an hour before we even got in. When you are time pressured to fit in different attractions this is not ideal and spoils the enjoyment.

Seems a bit ridiculous to book online and to then have to queue for a paper ticket when the online ticket contains a barcode. There is only 1 window at the booking office and 1 member of staff so no wonder there is a queue and there is no record of bookings to enable quick turnaround.

The height of stupidity
May 2021
Where do we start? The biggest single thing would be to avoid sending people who have already booked online into a one hour queue, staffed by one person only. I have NEVER had to do anything like this before when I have already booked the tickets online. In total, we had to queue for over TWO HOURS -one hour downstairs and then another hour upstairs - for a 40 second experience. It was not worth it from any viewpoint.

Everyone was sent into the same queue to get their 'tickets' even though everyone was under the impression they already had printed them off from the internet before.

Ignore the positive reviews from this - it is not worth the wait even for prisoners on death row.

Keeping everything Covid safe is usually totally worth any inconvenience but I have genuinely never seen anything like this. The whole thing was an absolute disaster. We nearly missed our West Ham stadium tour as a result.

I cannot believe that the same experience I did a couple of years ago had become such a disaster - avoid this experience at all costs - it will send your blood pressure higher than the height of the ride. Even a child in a wheelchair was forced to stay in a queue for just as long.

The staff were all mainly friendly and smiley but it is the system which is ludicrous.

Arcelor Mittal - you got the award for the worst single thing we did this Bank Holiday weekend...
