- dkym7800Waist of time if not a fanThe tour guide know his material however he wanderers off out of the subject many times, the tour is for people who know the old movies , the guide Michael was too fast walking and not considering people on the tour, i was bored many times he need to fins a way to attract your attention, he lost many of our groups and he is checking who was here or not If your nor true fan of the books and the original show skip it
- briantY6259KG00007 Walking TourKonstantine did a great job and was very knowledgeable! I will go back and watch the movies we discussed and look for the sites we saw in London.
- matthewhA7074QJ00Brilliant tour, loved it!Spent the afternoon on the gangster tour with Vas Blackwood. I went with my wife and grown up kids, and we had a large group that were all lovely people. Vas is obviously well know from tv and films and proved to be every bit the star that he is. Very funny, humble, engaging and captivating. Learnt loads, laughed more and loved every second. Will definitely go again and highly recommended.
- angeladulwich00A must doRussell was a brilliant guide he was fun and interacted with the group. A fantastic way to spend a day and meet paddington. Would recommend this as a must do.
- michellepO9003NA00Loved it!The tour guide was great! We learned so much about London history as well. Would recommend to any HP fan.
- Sheryl G00A wonderful tourJonathan was a wonderful tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. I really want to rewatch the bbc Sherlock series as well as check out the older movies he mentioned. The tour was so complete and we got to see some places we wouldn’t have otherwise.
- emilywB3589GR00Perfect Tour for Paddington FansGreat tour, really informative and interesting. Our guide Owen was very engaging and kept our attention throughout. The tour was a good length of time. Perfect for fans of Paddington!
- Coastal3315528529600Good funMy 9 year old granddaughter loved the Harry Potter tour & her enthusiasm was matched by our lovely guide Dani . It was also a great chance to see hidden parts of London . The walk was just long enough, 2Hours . Be aware you also use the tube so an extra cost .
- dbf6100Fun way to learn and get some exerciseWe enjoyed the information, trivia and facts that were well presented by Michael. He obviously loved Sherlock Holmes and his enthusiasm for the topic was evident. I gave 4 stars because he seemed a bit inpatient and walked too fast for some older individuals in our group. Overall a fun experience.
- K6102ACemilyc00FantasticWe went on the Emmerdale tour and it was fantastic. Bev the tour guide was excellent and very informative 👏
- 533timmg00A bit of a mixed bagWe did a couple of different tours from different companies on our stay in London. Comparing all the guides and the tours this was more on the weak side. While the guide seemed very knowledgable and had interesting information about every Sherlock aspect and media to offer, it felt very routine-like and unpersonal. He didn't really interact with the group. Apart from that he walked rather fast. While we could keep up with him we definitely lost some people midway which he did not seem to mind.
- 504anacristinas00Walking in the footsteps of A.C Doyle and his illustrious characterDespite a (not unusual British) shower (which only added to the atmosphere, I enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes tour guided by Michael very much! I have been a SH fan for a very long time and the tour added some very interesting facts both about the life of Arthur Conan Doyle, the various places in London connected to him or to his character, the movies made after the stories (I got some lovely ideas to watch in the future!) and British life in the Victorian era in general! Very insightful, inspiring and ... funny!
- kevinrR6161HC0000Heaven for Fans of the Worlds Most Famous Secret AgentWe had a fantastic time on our James Bond Film Location Tour. Our guide Ian was brilliant and full of knowledge and factoids regarding the film locations and how Eon productions use film magic and imagination to make the locations come o life. We also liked the mixture of being driven on the coach and walking around London to get to the film site locations. We got to see many locations used from OHMSS to No Time To Die. I think our favourite was seeing, The Royal College of Arms, Q's House and The Lazenby Lampposts. If you're looking to spend a fun day out on a Sunday then we highly recommend this tour.
- D9329JWpeterh00A must if You Only Live Once - James is the only one who lives Twice. Our guide Jerimiah was amazing, the perfect person for a tour of a fictional character, light hearted but an authority on James Bond. Getting to see the locations of a number of filming sights was brilliant
- 552chesterj00Enjoyable experienceIt's fun to see the filming spot in person. Our guide, Benny is absolutely wonderful. He is cute, humourous, knowledgeable and passionate about Harry Potter, which definitely makes this tour more enjoyable.

My wife, a fan of the show, was pleased with our experience. We had plentiful time in the village to take photos, buy souvenirs, meet some locals, and even have a sausage roll from a local eatery recommended by our guide. At Highclere, there was also plentiful time to see the inside, walk the grounds, and have tea and scones. There are some nice souvenirs in their gift shop. My wife really liked that our guide and driver, Fiona and Steve, were obviously dedicated to giving us the best experience possible.

This was one of the highlight tours of my trip! Although the drive is long, you are able to stop half way at a huge rest area that was more like a mall! It had clean restrooms and a food court with a variety of foods. You can pick up a sandwich and chips there or wait and grab something at the cafe in Downton. Our visit was very rainy so we weren’t able to visit the grounds as much, making the shelter from the rain in the cafe nice. What to expect:
Leave on the bus, stop at rest area, tour the city of Brampton for ab an hour. The tour guide did a great job showing us where different scenes were filmed and how they transformed buildings, light posts, signs, benches, etc. After that we journeyed on to Highclere. The line was relatively short to tour the castle. I would definitely get in line for that first and then explore the remainder of cool things afterwards. Again, even with the rain this was one of my favorite tours of our trip!

This could have been a fantastic tour however there were too many issues that detracted. First of all, the mini bus was in horrible condition and very unclean. Even though we arrived early before everyone else we were stuck in the back of the bus where evidently the shocks were completely worn out. Then our guide must have been having a bad day as he seamed completely out of control of the timing of the tour stops and events, gave incomplete or unclear directions to the tour participants, and frankly seamed very unsure of his knowledge of the tour subject, although at times he did seam to know what he was talking about. His attempt at humor and his waiting 10 minutes past the start time for participants that never showed, were examples of things that could be addressed differently going forward.

This was such a great experience. Our tour guide Emma R. was friendly and knowledgeable. She played Downton Abbey episodes for us on the trip out and the 1st Downton Abbey movie on the way back to London. Seeing Highclere Castle for the first time as you come up the drive is pretty special. You can't take photos inside which is the only downside. Otherwise it was well worth the money! The trip into Bampton was fun too, great to see the buildings/homes that were used in filming.

The Small Group Downton Abbey and village tour from London was one of the highlights of our trip to London! Our guide, Chris, was very engaging and very knowledgeable, sharing many interesting details of the filming of the show and also the area, the history of the. castle and its current residents. Highclere Castle was exactly as I had pictured! So beautiful! And I also enjoyed the tour of Bampton village! It was interesting to see it as it looks today as compared with how it appeared in the show. If you are fan of the show, don't miss the opportunity to take this tour!

This tour was well organized and our guide, Emma, was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Our small group was on a full-size bus which was comfortable. Our only suggestion would be that the guide have a microphone on the the bus as it was hard to hear her commentary from our seats.
We enjoyed the tour of Bampton village, seeing the filming locations for the show. Highclere Caste was great to see - photography inside would be nice although we realize this is a castle policy, not one of the tour company.
We visited on the record hot day, so our time at Highclere was somewhat too long as it was too hot to spend much time wandering around the grounds. On a cooler day, this would have been nice to do!
We would definitely recommend this tour!

This was a wonderful tour and as fans of the show, it was great to see the house, the village and the grounds.
As an added bonus the food for sale was reasonably priced and good too. The meat pastry was excellent!
Our only complaint (hence the 4 out of 5) is there could/should be more Downton Abbey references for those of us that are fans of the show more than fans of history.
Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to any fans of the show and movies.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience on Brit Movie Tours' tour to Downton Abbey yesterday. Our guide, Stewart, was extremely knowledgeable and funny...he added to the experience immeasurably. Seeing Highclere Castle (aka Downton Abbey) was a dream come true for both of us, and we loved seeing the rooms in person that we've seen so many times on TV. We also enjoyed visiting Bampton, the village in Downton Abbey. We were really glad that we chose the small group tour rather than a large one. Highly recommended!

For any Downton Abbey fan this is a must do! Our tour guide was fun, knowledgeable, and gave you enough time and space to experience it all. Her flip book of the scenes in the show showing us where we were and what we were seeing was great! Highclere Castle is just stunning! I truly wish they'd let us take photos inside. We never felt rushed in our visit. A small group tour like this is the way to go.

What a fantastic day! On a picture perfect day visit to Highclere Castle, this trip did not disappoint. The journey by coach was smooth and easy. Stewart was a great witty guide who pointed out things along the way and was very knowledgeable about Highclere and the Downton Abbey show. He showed the different filming locations and how the production used the Castle to bring the story to life. We explored the house and grounds and had time for drinks, just relaxing and taking it all in. It was an intimate small group and much fun,

My mom uses a walker. It fold up relatively flat. Would she be able to bring this along to assist her with walking around?

If I remember correctly the mini bus we take to Highclere Castle has room on it for a folded up walker. The only thing I'm not sure about is once you get to the castle. I know they had wheelchairs you can borrow to get around the first floor. But there is no elevator to get to the 2nd floor. So that could be an issue. The grounds are mostly gravel paths and grass so that could be something to consider as well.

Hi, when will 2021 dates be available to book?

Highclere is mainly open the summer months, seems to be always closed on Sunday’s. You can check their website as it is very informative. Seeing 2020 will help a little but I would guess 2021 will not be posted till early 2021.

Can children go?
Ibsrnc
Louisville, KY13 contributions
I think it depends on the age and their behavior. Don’t get me wrong, children will be children, and that’s okay. But Highclere is filled with antiques and precious objects. There’s no sitting, climbing , or touching. There is plenty of outdoor space to run and jump and get rid of excess energy. So, it really does depend on the age and ability of children to walk through, look and be still for a time till the outside is available.
I’ll be staying in Newbury, very close to Highclere Castle. Are there any tours that don’t require me starting in London?

Our tour definitely left from London, which I think is generally desirable for most people. I don't recall our tour guide mentioning any versions of the tour leaving from anywhere else. We went from London to Bampton then to Highclere Castle.
