100% Must Thing To Do In Belfast.

If you love or fascinated by Titanic or the movie or anything related to it then you must come here. I've been to a number of exhibitions on Titanic, but this place trumps it all. Absolutely amazing. The detailed info on Titanic history, the ride, and the interactive visuals were top notch. You can't beat it! Oh, SS Nomadic is cool too :)

Enjoyed our visit staff extremely helpful. We were overloaded with information but we could pick and choose what we read ... Films of the shipwreck was amazing. We visited the SS Nomadic and the two guides were helpful and entertaining. (Thank you Paul) It is a day out rather than half a day.

Titanic experience
Oct 2021 • Friends
Very good modern museum with interactive exhibits and a “ride” through !!
Sadly, the end is inevitable and well portrayed. Everyone leaves in thoughtful mode.
Sadly the one cafe open was very below modern standards. Poor choice and poor quality.
The staff, however, were delightful!

Not what I hoped for.

Feel rather let down. Was hoping to get more of a feel about being aboard the Titanic. Very small section recreating a couple of rooms which I enjoyed but felt more of the building could have been devoted to inside the actual ship in all its grandeur. Lots of information to read about Belfast and the shipyards at the time of the Titanic’s construction but wouldn’t call in a Titanic Experience,.

I visited Titanic Belfast when it first opened but couldn't remember too much about it so went again this weekend, and I was impressed. For £19.50 it's a great way to spend a few hours (and you do need a few hours).

The exterior of the building is impressive, being exactly the same height as the Titanic. It doesn't look big enough to hold what's inside, which is one of the great things about the exhibition - you go through so many different sections in so many different formats, it feels like you really get your money's worth.

The exhibition starts with the history of Belfast and Ireland, then it moves onto the Harland and Wolff shipyard and the White Star Line, before finally getting to Titanic. It was great to understand everything in context, as it gives you much more appreciation for just how significant Titanic was in its day.

Particular highlights of the exhibition include the ride taking you through the shipyard in its heyday, the surround-screen taking you up through all of Titanic's decks, the recreations of all the different classes of accommodation, and the small cinema showing the debris field of the wreck. There's lots of attention to detail, such as the path markings on the floor changing design as you progress through time.

Tickets to Titanic Belfast also include entrance to SS Nomadic in the dry dock outside, the tender which shipped passengers from Cherbourg dock to Titanic (and the last remaining White Star Line ship). I found the Nomadic surprisingly interesting as well, with lots to read and see inside - especially the difference between first and second class, even on a small tender. It was humbling to think I was standing where famous passengers such as John Jacob Astor stood before they boarded Titanic and then lost their lives four days later.

For the price, Titanic Belfast is a bargain and a great experience - I highly recommend it.

Imaginative and engaging
I’m generally not a big fan of museums but I loved this one. The pictures are cleverly done and the sounds and atmosphere in the different sections are imaginative and hold your attention. There are lots of interactive things to do. Highlights for me included a chance to tap out a morse code message having heard how that worked, the ride through the Shipbuilding yard and the personal stories of the passengers. The timed tickets meant it didn’t get too crowded which was a huge plus and really added to the enjoyment. We were on an organised tour for the day so had just under 2 hours which was about right for me but way too short for my partner who wants to go again and reckons she needs 5 hours to do it all!
Also a huge thanks to the museum for letting her use a buggy to get around. After an arduous morning she was struggling to walk and this made all the difference to her visit.

Well worth a visit.
Beautiful building, museum is very interesting taking you through the journey of the belfast shipyards through to the sinking of the titanic. Lots of interactive parts, allow yourself a few hours to do the museum and SS Nomadic. Price a little bit steep IMO and would have been nice to have some actual artefacts from the titanic itself.

Wonderful time journey
Sep 2021
The fascinating story of Titanic was unfolding as you moved step by step through the museum, from the building, hard work, to the tragic end. There is a lot of information and I would recommend 2 hours+ The most interesting was the second part, top floor looking through the big glass wall over the dock with the outlines of the ship, that gave an idea of its size. Some great views over part of the city too! We loved seeing the replica of first class cabin and in the same section, an original framed letter on the wall from a girl passenger to her grandma that is a bit of inspiration behind the character of Rose from the movie. Towards the end is a huge (also framed on wall) plan/profile of the ship that was touched by every single survivor in post disaster investigation.
Our favourite part though was without a doubt the tour with Rob!!! In all tours we ever took, never ever we had such wonderful and knowledgeable guide! This clearly wasn't only a job to him, but lifetime of passion and research. All done outside and close proximity to the building, he took us to what looked like insignificant spots we would normally just walk by, but played very important role in the Titanic story, plus some very interesting and touching stories of passengers and workers. He could answer literally any question asked!!! If you get Rob as your guide, count yourself very lucky!
We found this a fantastic experience all in all and thoroughly recommend!
