Good overview of the highlands and Loch Ness.
The tour operators couldn’t have been more efficient or professional. Our tour guide and driver was knowledgeable and fun and made the experience memorable. The only negative is that the bus was a bit tight and the long day of travel could get uncomfortable. Frequent stops definitely helped ease that however. Overall a very worthwhile adventure.

      Well worth a visit
Shara was a wonderful guide and Chatsworth was well worth a visit. Rabbies really manage to get a lot in such a short space of time. Only a day, couldn't recommend enough. The house itself was something else, fantastic day there. It was quite a wet day but it didn't affect us too much and actually kind of added to the atmosphere of the the whole grounds. Definitely give it a go.

Rabbis Day Trip from Glasgow to West Highlands
I very much enjoyed the day trip from Glasgow to the west highlands. My guide, Jeff C from the Glasgow branch, kept everything going at just the right pace. The information he shared was interesting but he did not overload me with information. The tour itself was a very good choice to do. I would not have had nearly as good of a time or seen half the things I did if I'd tried to hire a car myself. I got lots of wonderful photos and we stopped in so many places. I highly recommend this as a solo traveler.

      A great day excursion
A beautiful and mellow day trip from Edinburgh with our guide/driver Leo. The castle was definitely the highlight of the day- wonderful view, a 50 min tour of the castle that acts as an overview so you can explore the areas of your interest further on your own. I enjoyed the history and myths Leo shared with us while being an excellent driver as well.

      Fantastic Highlands Tour
My aunt and I had the best time on our tour, even if there was some rain involved! Our guide, Ross, was EXCELLENT- very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. He knew where to take us to follow the good weather and light for photos. I would 100% love to go on another tour with him!

      Island Paradise for Whisky Lovers
The tour was first class! Our guide, driver, mentor and leader - Billy knew everything there is to know about whisky and Scotland! Each day was interspersed with jokes, historical information visits to historical sites and whiskies galore! Whether you're a whisky aficionado or a complete novice this tour has something for everyone! This was a great opportunity to taste some rare and exquisite whiskies, to learn more about the traditional methods of production and to have a great time experiencing all that the Isle of Islay has to offer. Billy was attentive to the needs of the group and even amended the itinerary to include our favourite distillery!

      Islay Private Adventure
Five of us went on a wonderful private tour of Islay, Scotland. We spent 3 nights/4 days focused on whisky, history, and good food. The trip went extremely smoothly. The process of organizing our tour was made easy via email/phone and we were provided numerous options to customize. We even asked about some options that weren't mentioned and Rabbies made all of the arrangements. Our guide Stewart was amazing he had tons of historical and contemporary knowledge about everywhere we went and even places we didn't go to. He also was able to fit in additional sights and events along the way which was a bonus. Stewart took great care of us from start to finish and was the biggest differentiating factor in enjoying our trip. There were a few hiccups in our trip outside of the control of really anyone and the team worked in the background to make them not noticeable to us at all. Five guys from US would give Stewart and Rabbies 5 out of 5 stars any day.

Wonderful bus trip around the Highlands
It was a wonderful day seeing so much of Scotland. The views are breathtaking even in slightly grey murky conditions. Our driver Al was a real delight, knowledgeable, interesting and very funny. Stops were regular and there was plenty of time at Loch Ness to eat and then enjoy the trip on the boat. The day is long but very very enjoyable as we would never have done so much in twelve hours in our car. Being a smaller bus was a lot easier than a normal fifty seater as you could engage with other travellers and the driver. Have to give it 5 out of 5

Culturally rich tour with humor and history
We loved our guide Jim Scot! He was knowledgeable, funny, warm and friendly. Despite some disgruntled American tourists who were angry because they themselves kept the whole bus waiting (and promised to make a poor review), we had a lovely time. Jim Scot gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from the Dane and the fake Dane for his fantastic tour guide skills! Thank you!!

      Unexpected good
We went from Aberdeen to "North East Coastal Trail - 1 day tour" - me and my wife. The guide name was Chris (sorry if I made mistake in spelling). We did not expect such a good quality: - comfortable Mercedes van - excellent time management - all departures/arrivals in time - good stories/legends all along the way, all questions answered - HSSE notices, warnings about potential hazards - all done perfectly - friendly atmosphere - advices about restaurants, menu, prices etc. I will book a next tour with this company Victor and Svetlana (Russia)

Let me start by saying that the tour guide, Ally, was very entertaining and did the best he could given the lack of material (destinations) to work with. This is not a critique of him or Rabbies Tours, there just was nothing to do in any of the places we stopped-- the seaside town, St Andrews, and Fife. And we were in St Andrews for 3 hours! After eating lunch in a pub and walking the grounds of the cathedral, we were so bored we shopped in H&M until it was time to leave. Seriously, we could have done that in Edinburgh or even at home.

We're really sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy this itinerary. St Andrews is a very popular destination and with the Cathedral, Castle, West Sands Beach, Old Course, British Golf museum and more, there is plenty to see and do. We offer around 2.5 hours here so that our passengers have time to visit a few of these sites as well as have lunch. Generally speaking, this works well and receives positive feedback. We're glad that Ally impressed and entertained you but it does sound as though this wasn't quite the right tour for you and we're sorry you didn't enjoy it. Thanks for the feedback, Kind Regards, Aimee

Our driver was an extremely pleasant man with a great taste of humor. However, this is as far as it goes..the bus was going a little too fast and the acoustics was extremely poor and the inside of the bus was too noisy (I suppose, their fleet is outdated, hence the noise) and we ended up not listening to a single thing the driver was saying. My impression was that the company is producing mass tourism tours without attention to detail and treat people as naive tourists, instead of mindful travellers.

We cover key sites that tourists are interested in seeing, but the guide should bring their own perspective to the tour, to make for a more unique and authentic experience. If you were unable to hear the commentary, then we can appreciate that your impression of the tour was negatively affected and we are sorry about this. The commentary is a key part of the tour and it should be audible from all seats. We can't identify your booking from the review, so please do contact us at feedback@rabbies.com so that we can follow up on your experience.

Amazing! This tour is a must if you’re visiting Scotland. Our tour guide “Stevie” was fantastic! The group I travelled with all loved him, from the beautiful playlist, to his jokes and funny stories to the history and knowledge of each location - Stevie was just great. I would recommend this tour to anyone, not just fans of golf.

We enjoyed our experience, although the weather wasn't really pleasant: four seasons in an hour. We found a nice bakery in the village of Anstruther (our first stop) just in front of the harbour, and also spent great time in St Andrews, being particularly happy for having 3 hours there. Our guide Grant did a fantastic job, told us many stories from Scotland's past and present, and also shared some entertaining facts from his life. Cudos to Grant! We're kinda fans of Rabbies: it was our third time with the company and we'd never miss an opportunity to book another tour.

My husband and I took this tour with Eric on 19th October 2022. It was absolutely captivating going through the Scottish countryside and the Kingdom of Fife. Despite the cold and "driech" weather it was beautiful and the scenery was pleasant. Our tour guide Eric was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and I personally really enjoyed his facts regarding the Scottish agriculture and farming. He expertly navigated the several diversions due to road construction and remained patient and courteous despite minor setbacks. Our experience in St Andrew's was excellent and we were provided ample opportunity to explore this historic town. Would highly recommend Rabbies and this tour again and highly recommend Eric's guidance on the tour.

Jim and Penny were great guides. Funny stories, interesting history, lots of good chats. This was a nice tour. Not too much time in the bus. The little town of Anstruther was picturesque. We were there on a Sunday in the winter so much was closed and there wasn't much to do except walk around and see the town. We didn't spend a long time there, so it was nice. Some folks on our bus visited the museum and said it was great.

St Andrews is beautiful. The 3 hours there was a good amount of time. We bought an extra ticket to the cathedral and really didn't need to since the majority of it is open to the public. Save your money and just walk around the grounds for free! The extra money we paid did get us into a tall tower with amazing views, so we really enjoyed that. The museum was meh. We explored all the streets and closes and courtyards around the town and found some absolutely beautiful spots. Definitely get off the 3 main roads and explore. It's worth it.

And finally, the last town was mostly closed up on a Sunday afternoon, so there wasn't much to do. It was very picturesque and also very small so we walked around and took pictures, but still had time to kill.

All in all, a very pleasant and educational trip.

An enjoyable getaway to some locales not too far from Edinburgh. Our guide, Stephen, is a history lover who gave us lots of background information to help us understand the places we were visiting. When he wasn't talking, he alternated between playing Scottish music (both traditional and modern) and giving us quiet "chill-out" time. He was a genial host who did his best to accommodate the various interests of our group and let us know all our options.

The first stop, at Anstruther, was a brief one. I had just enough time to stroll up and down the main street snapping photos and buy a few edible souvenirs in a little gift shop. At the main stop, St. Andrews, Stephen gave an overview of the town's layout before first dropping off the golf enthusiasts at the far end of town and then backtracking to drop off those who wished to visit the castle ruins at the other end. In retrospect, I wished I had spent less time touring the ruins and more time exploring the streets, alleys, and closes of this lovely town. I will simply have to come back and see everything I missed! At the day's final stop, Falkland, I skipped the palace and just wandered around the village. It was really charming, but alas, few of the shops, tearooms, etc. were open.

This was a great trip & I was pleased I’d chosen Rabbies. Pre-trip comms were responsive & the tour well organised at every stage. The meeting point, at the bus station in the middle of the city, was convenient, & staff efficient at directing people to the correct transportation. This tour has a maximum of 16 people & the mini bus was in good order with large viewing windows & seatbelts. Our driver/guide Leo was chatty & fun & I enjoyed the music he played when not speaking. The first stop is a 10 minute loo & photo opportunity at the Queensferry Crossing/Forth Road Bridge, & then onto the lovely seaside town of Ansruther. We had 30 minutes there, which was time enough for a wander & a drink. The highlight for most is St Andrews, & after driving across the Old Course, we were allocated 3 hours free time in this beautiful city. Following that, we travelled to the quaint, chocolate box village of Falkland, best known for its Palace, a former Royal Hunting Lodge frequented by Mary Queen of Scots. Unfortunately, being February, it was closed, as were many other shops, so the 45 minutes allocated there was probably a bit too long (though odd pubs & cafes were open). We then returned to the bus station in Edinburgh, around 6pm.
Overall then, a well organised excursion, allowing you to see a variety of Scottish attractions within a day.

We booked this trip and traveled on July 1. Our guide was Graham, and he was excellent. The small group setting made getting in and around very easy. You could’ve not done this tour on a big bus. The fishing villages were quaint, and we were able to explore one of them on foot. If you do this, make sure to stop in the café at the fisheries museum and try the homemade shortbread. Excellent! The 2 1/2 hours at Saint Andrews was perfect for a walk around town a quick lunch and of course a stroll on the old course. All in all, Graham provided the group with historical information and a few laughs. He is a very personable guide and attentive to the groups needs. Thank you!

Well paced tour. Alistair provided a very good tour experience. He was entertaining, informative and kept things on time but we never felt rushed. The writeup for the tour doesn't do it justice. This was a nice mix of things from Anstruther Harbour (fishing village), to St Andrews (golf and castle ruins) plus Falkland palace (royal history). St Andrews got the most time with a walk about on your own and lunch. Once again Rabbie's came though with a fine tour. Probably 4.5 stars rather than 4.
