Overview
Explore some of The Da Vinci Code’s real-life mysteries with this guided tour through the Scottish borderlands. Learn about the mystery of Rosslyn Chapel, the Holy Grail, and Melrose Abbey. Listen to your guide’s commentary bring historical figures such as Robert the Bruce, the Knights Templar, and the Cistercian Monks to life. On the way, enjoy the scenery as someone else handles the driving.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and group in central Edinburgh to begin your adventure. Enjoy the scenery from your luxury minivan as you travel to your first stop: Scott’s View.

Have your camera ready for views over the Eildon Hills and the Tweed Valley, including the Roman ruins. Move on to the town of Melrose, situated on the River Tweed. Take a walking tour to learn about the English invasion and stop by Melrose Abbey, where the heart of Robert the Bruce is buried. Hear about the abbey’s founding in the 12th century, and its connection to the Knights Templar and the Cistercians. Enjoy free time to explore or purchase your own lunch.

Next, it’s on to the 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel, which featured prominently in The Da Vinci Code. Your guide will help decode the provocative symbolism in the chapel’s stonework.

Return to Edinburgh for drop-off back at Waverley Bridge.

Tour guide was more of a Bus Driver

Our driver was a last minute stand-in....he was more of a bus driver than an informative tour guide. Availability of Toilets was a bit few and far between Melrose Abbey and the Rosslyn Chapel were very much worth seeing. The stairway climb to the top...More

You would have to ask the vendor because we walked to the meeting site and it is near the train station. It is a great tour but check the return time so your not late getting back to the ship.
