Overview

Experience Scotland’s dramatic landscapes with this two-day tour in the Highlands, including an overnight stay in the town of Fort William. Skip the hassle of a rental car and enjoy round-trip transportation from Edinburgh. Itinerary highlights include Doune Castle, Loch Ness, and the Commando Memorial. Learn about Scottish history from a local guide during this small-group tour.

What to Expect
Day 1
Leaving Edinburgh, we travel to Glasgow to pick up further passengers and head north to Stirling, catching a glimpse of its famous and majestic castle. We will stop here to visit the Wallace Monument (optional extra). The monument is a towering stone testimonial to the Scottish legend William Wallace, and contains his 5ft 6in (1.7m) sword.

Next we pass Doune Castle, location for the film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', and also the setting for the 'Outlander' TV series. We continue north, via Tyndrum, and through the atmospheric Rannoch Moor to Glencoe, site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald Clan, and also featured in the James Bond film 'Skyfall'. In Summer months, we continue to the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter films, for a photo stop, before checking in to our accommodation in the Highland town of Fort William.

Day 2

After breakfast we head north into the Great Glen and enjoy a photo stop at Glen Garry. We then make our next stop of the day at the majestic Eilean Donan Castle (optional extra), with time to explore the Castle and its beautiful setting. Our journey continues with a stop for lunch at the famous Loch Ness at the lochside village of Fort Augustus. Spend time here Nessie-hunting and relax with fantastic views over the loch. We then stop at the Commando Memorial at Ben Nevis on our way back to Edinburgh.

Fantastic Tour

Martin is the man. Historical, knowledgeable, humerus. He had everything a tour guy needs. The journey was pleasant and beautiful, us cab members took it upon ourselves to announce restroom breaks. Which lead to less time dilly dallying and more time sight seeing.

Thank Kyler E
