BY FAR the most amazing tour experience we've ever had! My husband and I had one week in Scotland and with only a short amount of time we thought booking a guided weekend tour would be perfect. The 2-day tour was the best decision and best experience. Stephen was a FANTASTIC story-teller and guide. His energy was hard to beat and answered any questions we had when they came up. I'm still amazed that we got to see and experience so much in such a short amount of time. We loved every stop and hope to come back again one day. If you're debating on booking The Hairy Coo, debate no further!

Jim was a great guide (he was filling in for a guide who had Covid so not one of their normal guides). Full of stories and history about the areas we drove through and stopped at. Wish there had been more time at St. Andrew's but when you have so many stops there can't be.

Bus broke down on our way home and we were about 7 hrs late getting into Edinburgh. A hassle, yes, but we were safe. Not sure if it something an inspection would have caught or not.

A huge thank you to the bus driver from another company who picked us up and drove us an hour and then (another) Jim from Hairy Coo who drove up from Edinburgh to take us the last 2 hrs.

Great experience! Ryan was the most cheerful, captivating and extremely knowledgeable guide and a good driver. Pity the microphone didn’t work and lost some information as it was quite a torture. Please mend it.
The landscape and Loch Ness boat trip was a must. I’m very glad and i’ll join another one soon

We just returned back from our 2 day trip to the Highlands of Scotland covering St. Andrews to Inverness and back again. We loved the tour itinerary and the guide. He was funny, personable, and made sure to stop frequently for quick breaks. The stops were well-thought-out, had enough time at each place, and the scenery was breathtaking. I especially loved the walk in the woods to the waterfall; how stunningly beautiful. I was not thrilled with the bed and breakfast choice that the tour company booked for us. We felt the room to be extremely warm and the beds hard as rocks; the breakfast, however, was good. Also, follow the guide's recommendations for food at each stop. The whiskey ice cream in Pitlochry is a must try and dinner at the Mustard Seed in Inverness was delicious, with local game & vegetables. If you are looking for a tour of the Highlands combining history, literature, and film locations, this is the tour for you!

*for families with young children: we took our 7 year old son on this tour, who is an excellent traveler, and he loved it. However, if your children do not like riding on a bus for a few hours at a time or can handle walking in the woods, then this tour may be too much IMHO.

Visiting Scotland has been on my bucket list forever! I finally made the trip from Australia and so glad I did. I looked around through quite a few tour companies and so glad we picked Hairy Coo! Michael our guide was amazing and went above and beyond to accomodate everyone on the tour. He even invited us to eat with him, and made recommendations if we chose otherwise. He was very knowledgeable, funny and gave us such great insights into Scotland. This tour was the highlight of our trip. Thanks Michael and hairy coo 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺

This two day tour was just the right length of time. The tour guide, Brizo, was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the history and the peoples of the areas visited.

The tour left on time and the pace of the tour was not rushed and allowed us to take pictures and listen to the detailed explanations of the areas visited. I really loved the visit to the Culloden battleground and was very impressed by Brizo's knowledge of the conditions that led to the battle and how it was executed with all the different personalities involved. Of course, Loch Ness was a great visit since everyone have been reading or hearing about it. The boat tour on great. Brizo got us there early so that there were not a lot of people on the boat. This allowed us to roam freely on the boat and listen to the captain explain about Loch Ness.

I would recommend bringing an umbrella since it was always raining on and off. Brizo dropped us of on time at the end of the tour. This is a tour that I would highly recommend.

I loved this tour! I went with 6 of my friends over the course of two days. We had a blast. We saw so many interesting and historic things! Our guide Brizo was the best he made us all laugh 'till our stomachs hurt! We are still laughing at his jokes and we will be for years to come. We all are already talking about going on another tour with the Hairy Coo a little down the road from now!

Brizo was the best tour guide I have ever had! He kept us entertained on the drives with captivating stories about Scottish history, intriduced us to modern and classic Scottish music, pointed out interesting sites, answered our questions, told us hilarious stories, gave us pointers on local places to eat and see, and even took our group picture. He is kind, funny, and helpful. The tour is very comprehensive and a wonderful way to see the highlands. Scotland is a beautiful country and I hope to come back and explore more! I recommend Hairy Coo tours for individuals, families, groups of friends, and couples.
