    Highly recommend!
Richard is a great tour guide. We learned much about the town of St Andrews, and the game of golf (Our golfing men will forever hate the sheep for their invention of a bunker). ;)

    Highly recommended Tour
Richard’s extensive knowledge and wit made the tour very enjoyable. As history buffs we were fascinated by all that St. Andrew’s has to offer - past present and future. Thank you Richard for a memorable experience!

    Very informative and fun
Whether it was the season or the weather, this turned out to be a solo tour, which was amazing. Richard has a wealth of knowledge, not only for the history and intricacies of golf, but how its history intertwined with Saint Andrews cathedral. Enjoyed hearing about St. Andrews University and caught the graduation procession. When the rain started pelting down, had a coffee in the delightful Niblets restaurant and finished off the tour on the Old course. Great day and tour guide. Wealth of information, I only wish I could remember more of it!

History and Ghosts of St. Andrews
A friend and I joined Richard for a ghost tour of St. Andrews last week and we had a wonderful time. It was just the two of us on the tour with Richard and it was great to hear his deep knowledge of the city's history and its paranormal residents. Really made me look at St. Andrews in a different way and I'm grateful I was able to take this tour on my trip to Scotland. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore a unique perspective of St. Andrews!

St. Andrews City and Golf Tour
What a great tour! Nice, slightly upbeat walk-through of St. Andrews, ending up at the infamous Swilcan Bridge! Richard's knowledge of the game of golf as well as the city sites makes this more than just a sightseeing walk. You will hear great stories about the city, university, cathedral, and the origins of the game of golf. The highlight for any golfer, of course, is stepping onto the famed Old and Ancient and having a photo taken standing on the historic Swilcan! A must-tour if you are visiting Scotland.

    St Andrews from an expert!
Very informative tour of the townsite and lots of history. Not just golf history. Weather is variable so bring an umbrella.

    Long and soggy
We took this tour after a train ride from Edinburgh while on a cruise. The tour was full of great information but the weather was rainy and cold. Our primary challenge was that we did not have the address of where the tour started! I tried emailing and calling but to little avail. By the time we got assistance and hoofed it over to the start point, the tour got off to a late start. I did appreciate the group waiting for us, but better, clearer information would have been more helpful. The tour was dampened by the rain which was pretty miserable. I thought the tour was for 2 hours. At that point we had to leave to catch our train back to Edinburgh, so we missed most of the tour content covering the golf course itself.

Wonderful tour of a delightful spot.
Thorough walking tour of St. Andrews. We really enjoyed all the places we saw. It was not quite as go,f Oreo Ted as expected, but was still delightful. I would definitely recommend taking this tour of delightful St. Andrews.

Excellent history of St. Andrews and golf
We scheduled our tour because the two adults and the two teens (age 14 & 16) love golf and its history. This walking tour definitely fulfilled that goal as it included how golf started @ St. Andrews and also how the university there was influenced. There were a lot of pictures taken by our grandsons and they both say their favorite part of our holiday was this tour. The only thing disappointing for them was the fact that the shops closed at 6 and the tour finished at 6:15 pm. This might be mentioned so individuals can shop before the start of the 4 pm tour.

Richard is an excellent guide. Listening to him sharing the history of old St Andrews and adding his stories of past and present players made for an unforgettable experience. Will definitely recommend the tour, even to non golfers

My wife and myself joined Richard today for our tour of the Old course. Despite neither of us being fanatical golfers, we both found the tour very informative and kept us interested with our guides inside stories and knowledge. 1hr was just right and we finished off with drinks in the hotel bar looking over the 17th. ( much needed as was very cold despite being blue skys :) )

Well, maybe I was expecting too much based on the previous reviews that I had read. Richard did provide an interesting bit of information as we went along.... but a fair amount of it was trivial and there was too little "golf" in the golf history tour. I was slightly disappointed because it was obvious that he has a lot of interesting information to pass along - if you ask him specific questions.

My family had a wonderful day with Richard at St. Andrews. He was knowledgeable, to the point, and could read his audience. He answered questions and was engaging. We got the pictures that we wanted and created great memories. An hour tour is just the perfect amount of time needed as we were left to explore on our own.

This was a great quick tour! Richard covered a lot of golf history & St Andrews golf history all while moving us around part of the course and he took everyone’s photos at key places. Nice fun stories & facts along with the history. After tour…. Having a pint at The Jiggers topped it all off.

Richard was very friendly and knowledgeable with a clear, strong voice for wandering outside in a group. He conveys a love for the history of the town and the game of golf. It’s so much more than just a walk around the course with a few facts thrown in. Really appreciated having pictures taken of us in front of the sign for the Old Course, and of course, the iconic bridge. He also gave some great tips about additional activities and the best places to go for souvenirs.

Richard gave our family the absolute best experience at The Old Course. He was genuinely a wealth of knowledge and was welcoming of all our questions. He also directed us to the location of one of our most enjoyable moments, the driving range of St Andrews Golf Club. Thanks Richard for a great day!

What a great overview of golf, history and the old course itself. Richard was a fantastic host, willing to share his experiences and answer our questions. A perk was his photography skills and offerings to take iconic photos on the tour.
