Easy way to see the city
We were visiting for the day during a trip to Edinburgh. We wanted to see Glasgow and this was the perfect was to do it on a cold day.

    Not very informative.
We usually love these tours but this one missed the mark completely. The narration was very, very limited compared to other similar tours. We learned very little. Glasgow is, putting it kindly, a rapidly changing city and the sense of history and understanding a decent guide provides was just not there. We got off at stop 12 and, after spending the day in the West End, ended up getting the subway back into the centre rather than finishing the tour. Cheap but still felt like a waste of time and money.

    My first hop-on-hop-off tour experience.
The buses were on time and ran long enough to get me to see all I wanted to see. Booking for two days is one pound more than for just one day, so worthwhile if you don't want to cram it all into one day. The whole trip takes 1.5 hours, and there's information played out over plug-in headphones (available or bring your own) on the bus. We had a choice of two tracks to listen to - the standard tour, which was informative and good, and the "music tour" which seemed to have a lot of gaps and wasn't as complete as you might expect or wish it to be. Oh well. It was convenient and better for the tourist than cramming onto public transit and trying to figure out the route you need to get to where you want to go. This is easier: plan your sightseeing based on the route of the bus, and get off and back on when you need it.

    City tour of Glasgow
This tour was great, very interesting and entertaining saw a lot of Glasgow. My son whose 1st language is German found the German commentary was of the highest quality. We both found the music that played between the commentary be super. Both agree would do this tour again.

    Difficult to judge
Went on this tour when many of the indoor attractions were on lockdown. Commentary was peppered with at this stop issue the fantastic X and it’s free to get in ...unfortunately it’s closed because of covid Driver and tour guide super friendly and the guide did her best with what she had to work with but perhaps tone down the mention of the motorways! - I’m sure Glasgow has more to offer Maybe best to Hold on going on the tour till things open up More

    An excellent tour!
We booked the tour for 2 days to give us plenty of time to explore the places along the route. We visited the People’s Palace on the first day and then got back on and stayed on for the complete circuit. The commentary is interesting and informative. The next day we visited the Riverside Museum and Kelvingrove. A great way to find out about this wonderful city.

    Best way to Travel
This was a great way to visit the sights. It was relatively rainy the day we used this service and it made it possible to see much more. Glasgow is not a huge city but it is big enough if you don't want to walk in the rain. This made stops at some great tourist spots as well as some not so touristy spots.

Great tours whatever the weather, whatever the season
Great to see the sights of Glasgow, we hopped on and off all over the city, so easy to do, the map supplied is so helpful to help you decide where and what to see, have done this tour many times in all weathers and all seasons, and this time of year a great way to see the lights at Christmas time

Great way to see the city
To get your bearings and figure out what you might want to see, the city sightseeing tour is an excellent way of doing that. Cheaper by a mile to get a two day ticket, £16 for a day ticket, £17 for a two day ticket, you get hop on and off as often as you like. There are twenty one stops on the tour all stopping near to a major attraction. The buses run every thirty minutes, so you're never waiting long. The only thing that disappointed me was that the commentary was pre recorded by Neil Oliver (Scottish TV personality), I'd rather have the spontaneous Glasgae patter of the driver or a local guide !! Great way to get about though !!!

Glasgow has so much history that most of us don't know about
Take this tour if you go to Glasgow. The route helps you to appreciate street after street of the wonderful old architecture that I had no idea is in Glasgow. It also locates many of the important 'go to' places worth seeing. The tour is 'hop on hop off', so you will be able to choose locations to visit. All the museums in Glasgow are free to visit. So enjoy. The tour lets about 45mins and I am not a tour-type, but this was very enjoyable. If you do in a different season to Summer, you may wish to ensure you are wearing warmer clothing as it can be cold if the only seats left are in the open-top section.

A great way to get an overview of Glasgow
We had never visited the City before so chose to get an overview of the City on the open top sightseeing bus. £15 concession for 2 days A dry cool day but it had rained earlier so it could have done with someone to dry the seats before the tour started. The only reason I did not give it an excellent rating We did a full tour to get our bearings and then stopped off at the Riverside and Kelivingrove museum before using the bus to the stop nearest our hotel. We stayed longer at the Riverside museum only getting a brief view of the Kelvingrove museum which is a magnificent building. Worth every penny we spent on the ticket

    Wonderful trip spoiled by overcrowding
The first bus of the day I truly enjoyed a round trip and the commentary by Neil Oliver. The driver was welcoming and the scenery spectacular. When I stopped off to sightsee, however, the next bus was just stuffed full and people were pushing all over me. After the second stop to sightsee, I took the subway back to the hotel rather than face the unwashed crowds on the bus... pity.

Took a spur of the moment day trip to Glasgow. Our plan was to take a bus tour and see many of the sights. We chose the City Sightseeing bus tour as our experience in many cities has been that this provides a great way to see the main historical points in a city. We got on the bus in George Square which was perfect as we had travelled by train.
Overall our primary goal was accomplished as we did see the sights and stopped off where we wanted to but our overall experience was definitely not a positive one. The bus was often more than 30 minutes to pick up and worse than that was frustratingly freezing cold as NO heat was provided. Being wet from standing waiting in the rain and freezing cold did not make us happy customers!!! Inexplicable and frankly unacceptable to have no heat for customers and staff on your buses!!

Wonderful tour. The fact that you get to learn so much about all the important and significant places of Glasgow in a matter of few hours with the help of such amazing tour guides and audio recordings is amazing. The tour guides are obviously knowledgeable but also seem extremely passionate about the city and you get the feeling strongly that they want you to learn and understand and see every bit of what they are telling you. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting glasgow. We were stopping in Glasgow only for a day on our trip to the Highlands and this tour was worth the money spent.

I definitely recommend the HOHO bus if you have an hour to kill in Glasgow. It was well worth the cost to get a tour of the entire city, hearing the history from a good live guide. I saw so many interesting buildings and areas. (We had a short time here on a cruise ship for the day (docked in Greenock) - we did it on our own and fit in the Necropolis, Glasgow Cathedral, St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art, Provand's Lordship, the HOHO bus, lunch at George Square and Rick Steves "Glasgow Walk" from his book.)

Really good tour, if you are staying more than 2 days I would recommend that you buy a 2 day ticket straight away as it is better value.
Some buses you need headphones and some have a live running commentary both are just as good.
Do the whole tour first and then choose where you want to explore.
2 seniors will cost £32 for the two days. Not bad value

Using this bus is a great way to see the city of Glasgow and to visit what appeals to you. We found this convenient, inexpensive and very informative. The cost for a second day with the pass is only a pound more and well worth it.

The drivers are excellent and polite and willing to help you and recommend sites that are close to the stops.

This is a great way to get the lay of the land! Our first time in Scotland so this tour offered a wonderful overview of the areas we wanted to focus and were interested in. Goes through the city centre, river sites, West end if you wanted to visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Glasgow Uni, Glasgow green, People’s palace, etc. The starting point is at George’s Square. I bought a 2 day pass so we could explore leisurely. At each stop is the bus schedule of when the next bus comes so you can keep track. An affordable way to get around the city!

As with every place we visit … it is a mandatory requirement to do the Hop On / Hop Off bus. This is the best way to see the city. We did the full tour without exiting the bus … until we arrived back at our first stop. The commentary is always great … it gives you a really good feel of the city and the history behind a lot of buildings, parks and venues. Priceless. We learn more doing these tours than if we were to just wander the city on our own.

Planned on doing a city sightseeing bus as have visited the city loads over the years, however the bus driver that pulled up with an empty bus was the rudest, most unhelpful driver we have ever met. Having used these buses in different cities around Europe we were surprised by the attitude of the driver. Appreciate he may not accept cash , but he could have assisted on where we could buy tickets or we could book online. No assistance was given so we decided not to use the service following this interaction. I do hope all your drivers don’t have this attitude as a lot of business will be lost.

Once we finally got on a tour it was great. Informative and enabled us to see the main sights of Glasgow we wanted to on our day trip there.

There were two of us plus an 18month old and our boxer dog (who travels really well on buses).

We had checked online before going to to the pavement stop about dogs and it implied that no matter what size of dog, they were allowed on as long as they were not on the seats. It did also say at drivers discretion.

During our ticket purchase with one gentlemen rob the pavement team, another member of staff came over and stated that we could have tickets because our dog was too big, basically saying that only lap dogs are allowed on. The original seller advised us to go to another stop and get on at another stop where that particular member of staff wasn’t. So that’s what we did, we jumped on and paid the driver directly who loved our dog and gave her fuss and we enjoyed the tour back to stop 1 with out issue and got off and enjoyed the city. We then went back to stop 1 to complete the tour - the same member of staff who disallowed us earlier was there and said “somebody sold you a ticket?” To which we obviously said yes and we were then allowed on, the driver of the second bus was fine.

So please can you either re clarify your policy on dogs being allowed to lap dogs only, or train your pavement teams on what your current policy is? Leaving it up to individual ticket sellers discretion doesn’t really work that well on a hop on/hop off tour and can see in some situations leaving somebody stranded.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are so glad you enjoyed the tour and sincerely apologise for the trouble you experienced getting your dogs on board. Our official policy states that friendly dogs are allowed onboard so we are currently investigating this issue with our staff to make sure this does not happen in future. Excellent value for money. There's a bit of an issue with various roadwork projects and detours, but that's not the Bus Tour's fault. We took the tour the first day and were fortunate to have a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide to provide the passengers with various tidbits of gossip and useful information about the city of Glasgow.

Buying the 2nd day option was an excellent idea because it allowed us to go back to various places that caught our attention the first day when we did the entire 1.hr round trip in one go.
