- Q5368ASallisonb0 contributionsGlasgow on a BicycleReviews: We loved our Gallus Pedals bike tour in Glasgow! Conor was a great tour guide. His background in theater showed through in his enthusiasm and his story telling techniques of Glasgow’s rich history. It was a scenic ride along the River Clyde— crossing over the many types of bridges that span the river. Biking through the Kelvinggrove Park and taking in a beautiful quad area of University of Glasgow were lovely. Highlight was taking in a festival and going over the new swinging bridge on its opening day.Written 8 September 2024

- G1729UUjamesd0 contributionsThe only way to see Glasgow.Glasgow is a big city. A city that a walking tour would struggle to cover, and if it did, it would be a tour that most would struggle to walk. The emergence of e-Bike tours makes this possible and Gallus Pedals made it both possible and a great day out. They have carved out a beautiful route around the surprisingly cycle-able city, taking in all the sights, hidden gems, architecture, and history. Let's be honest, no one spends weeks in Glasgow when visiting Scotland, so if you have a day or so in the city, I definitely recommend Gallus Pedals. You can see the city in a day, catch a show in the evening, and off to the Highlands. Our tour guide Martin was not only an awesome guide - super knowledgeable, fun, and enthusiastic - he was also one of those guys you hope you bump into again. I wish Gallus all the best and hope the business keeps booming.Written 30 August 2024
- 507carmeld0 contributionsGlasgow on e-bike +distilleryWhat a fantastic experience to travel through Glasgow on an e-bike with a guide showing and explaining the significance of all the sites was absolutely incredible and then to top it off with whiskey tasting - sensational thank you Connor, thank you Gallus Peddle- an awesome experience!!Written 26 August 2024
- R8961HJbethm0 contributionsWhat a great tour despite the rain!I was in a small group of people, but I was solo. Because I tweaked my knee, somehow, the week before I traveled and it was hurting after two days of walking around the city, I reluctantly reached out, at the last minute, to upgrade to an e-bike and Martin came through. Our tour guide was Conor who good-naturedly led us on our expedition through the dreich (he taught us this word) weather and presented us with information in a knowledgeable and entertaining way. Then, when I left my water bottle behind, Conor went above and beyond to bring it to me at my hotel. I highly recommend Gallus Pedals if you're in Glasgow and looking for a bike tour in the city. I'd I've to do it again... when it's a bit drier.Written 25 August 2024

- suzannecH4983MB0 contributionsWonderful bike tour in GlasgowMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our bike tour with Connor. We covered a lot of territory and Connor was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. The tour was about 3 hours long. Even though the weather was cold and drizzly it was SOOO worth it because we saw some amazing sites, architecture, parks, street art, and so much more! Don’t miss this amazing bike tour! Thanks so much to Connor😄Written 2 July 2024
- joannef7150 contributionsE-bike tour is E-Z and lots of fun!I have been lucky enough to travel widely and in doing so have taken many, many tours but never by electric bike. This tour, led by Martin, was one of the best I’ve ever taken, and being on a bike added to the fun, breadth and scope, and the feeling of being a part of the city that a walking or bus tour never have. The e-bike was easy to operate after a quick lesson, In terms of the amount of physical energy you need to exert, I would describe it as low to moderate, and you can adjust settings to exert more or less energy. You didn’t need any experience with e-bikes. I didn’t have any. Nor did my two daughters and spouse. The route itself was well planned and moved from historical to newer parts of the city, it included cultural and natural highlights, outside art and neighborhood streets. Martin shares not only his vast knowledge but love of the city. His old timey photos let you see how the city has transformed. He has a good knowledge of, and shares, the feel of the city. The whiskey distillery tour (about 50 minutes) was interesting, and well planned out with a little museum. My family enjoyed the whiskey but I don’t drink, so enough from me on that. Other considerations are value: well worth it as the tour was actually 4 hours and the bikes were in great shape, Martin was incredibly attentive and even provided a snack (apple or candy). He is very friendly, conversational, well travelled, knowledgeable and loves the city—everything you would want in a tour guide. The tour started on time, was centrally located, had access to public toilets, and went through both scenic bike paths and city streets. He worked to get us access to “off the beaten track” spots like a new bridge under construction. The university was a highlight. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. The tour left me writing this - my first ever review.Written 13 June 2024

- kennym2430 contributionsA really great way to spend an hour and half!!Really great tour! Martin had so much knowledge about Glasgow but still managed to make it all feel so relaxed and informal. The walk itself was at a good pace - not too slow, not too quick - and it felt like we were waling thepigh the ages as we crossed into each different Glasgow district. Excellent tour, well worth every penny. I'd happily take friends and go again!!Written 6 June 2024

This was such a wonderful way to reconnect with Glasgow and to explore the history of this great city. It would be wrong for anyone to assume that there won't be anything relevant to them but as our most knowledgeable guide, Martin explained, the history of Glasgow is relevant to all those who inhabit it and beyond. You'll take in all the usual sights and even some which you may not even be aware of and you'll definitely never be bored as Martin injects such enthusiasm and passion into the story of Glasgow. We were a chatty bunch, full of questions and a little bit of mischief but Martin was the epitome of patience and good humour. I was truly surprised by how much this gentlemen knew about Glasgow and how limited my own knowledge was! We were provided with bikes helmets, snacks, hand sanitizer etc. All you really need is to bring yourself. The bikes were an easy and comfortable ride and I especially loved the huge basket at the front. Time really does fly when you're having fun as the hours flew by and before we knew it the tour was over. I could've cycled around Glasgow all day! This really is the best way to see Glasgow, especially if like us, you're lucky enough to get some sunshine while you're at it. Thanks, Martin.

Thoroughly enjoyed our bike tour with Gallus Pedals. Despite living in and around Glasgow for the past 20 years, our guide Martin’s well thought out route and regular stops with stories galore provided us with new, interesting and surprising information about the great city. His enthusiasm and passion for Glasgow shines through and his knack for storytelling makes for a fun few hours.
I’m not a regular cyclist but found the revamped postie bikes to be comfortable and the route achievable for all abilities and ages. The meeting point was easy to find, with parking nearby if required. Martin provided mid-tour snacks…a Tunnocks Teacake with a belter of a view from the University of Glasgow - what more could you ask for?!
Highly recommend this tour, whether a visitor to Glasgow or a local - there’s something for everyone.

My wife and I booked a group bike tour with Gallus Pedals online late one night, and when we arrived to meet the guide the next day, Martin hadn't been notified that he had a tour. He was very apologetic and offered to upgrade our tour to a private e-bike tour for our troubles. I'm glad we waited a bit for him, because the bike tour was a highlight of our Glasgow trip...even though it rained. You can ride in the rain and dry off with a pint in a pub after. At least that's what we did.
We covered many interesting parts of Glasgow that we wouldn't have seen otherwise, including visiting an amazing venue where the world's best street artists painted murals on shipping containers to be placed in cities across the globe. Martin was knowledgeable and fun. He brought old photos to show us how radically the docks and other areas had changed.
Our ebike tour was fast and fairly easy (even in the rain!). It covers a lot more of Glasgow's waterfront and old colleges that bear a striking resemblance to the buildings in Harry Potter. Martin personalized the tour to what we expressed interest in.
There's a reason this is the #1 outdoor activity in Glasgow. This is no boring shuffle around and listen to a guide drone on. For folks who like a little adventure in their tour, don't miss Gallus Pedals.

We had a short amount of time in Glasgow, so I booked this bike tour to see more of the city than we would on foot. I was not disappointed! Martin, our tour guide, was friendly and so knowledgeable. I admit I was apprehensive at first because it started raining when our tour began, but Martin had us stop in places that were covered along the river and still had beautiful views even with the haziness from the rain. Martin shared the facts but also the stories that highlight Glasgow's character and captured our attention so well that we forgot about the rain and before we knew it, the sky cleared. We then got to see the University and Kelvin Park area. The snack was yummy and well timed, and we were proud of all the biking we did!

If you’re looking for a fun day out with a bit of culture thrown in then this is for you. We were a small group with various levels of cycling experience and all managed to complete the tour without any difficulty. The reconditioned Post Office bikes were super comfy and easy to master. Martin our leader led the way on a tour around Glasgow starting in the City Centre , along the Clyde side and out to the West End . It was amazing to hear about the history of the city as well as seeing some of the fabulous wall art around Glasgow. Brilliant day out .

Really enjoyed the Glasgow tour led by Martin today. Martin was really professional and knowledgeable, taking us around the sights of Glasgow, showing us some beautiful buildings and talking about the history of the city. I was absolutely blown away by the fact that all his bikes are named after famous Glaswegian women in history. And the fact that a portion of his profits go to charity. Would highly recommend this tour and Martin is such a lovely warm person. Will be back soon!

I went on the Glasgow bike tour with Gallus Pedals and loved it. I’m from nearby Coatbridge so know Glasgow well, or at least I thought I did until I went on this tour. We quickly got out of my main go-to places in the city centre and I discovered a whole other side to Glasgow I knew nothing about. Great to understand more about the art, culture and history of my city and was fascinating to hear the background stories of some of our most well-known people. The tour guide Martin was great, knows Glasgow inside out and his passion for the city shines through. He even took us for a pint afterwards! Whether you're from Glasgow or just visiting, I’d definitely recommend. Great little day out.

Loved it!
As a native Glasweign, I learned a lot about both the historical and contemporary gems hidden along the pathways and streets of Glasgow.
The pace of the tour allowed us to take in some of the fantastic scenery of the city, while the articulate tour guide Martin gave some facanating facts on colonialism, the suffragette struggle, and the great diversity that makes our city unique.
I will be recommending the tour to family, friends, and any visitors to our city.

Women on Wheels volunteers and some of our new cyclists visited Gallus Pedals - a Glasgow bike tour company and what a fun tour we had.
There was 10 of us - the biggest group they have hosted yet - and a complete mix of abilities with some seasoned cyclists and some who only just got their balance.
The feedback was amazing and we will definitely do this again....
"Thanks Martin for the fab day. I really enjoyed it"
" Every part of the tour was amazing, from the old postie bike names after inspirational Glasgow women to the historical tour. An amazing 3 hours. Well worth it"

An excellent tour of the west side of Glasgow led by Martin, an engaging and knowledgeable leader, in a fleet of very comfortable refurbished ex Royal Mail bikes. We tracked along the Clyde and up into the West end benefiting from Martin’s knowledge on the way and chatting with fellow tour participants and we went. Far more engaging than a bus tour and you feel good turning those pedals round this great city. It is exclusively on either quiet roads or cycle paths… don’t worry if you are not en experienced cyclist; you will love it !
