Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains Day Tour from Dublin

Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Fall for the unsurpassed natural beauty of the Garden of Ireland on this Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains day trip from Dublin. Set off from the capital and be wowed by the sights of rural Ireland during a scenic drive to County Wicklow. See where scenes from ‘Braveheart’ were filmed, stop at a lake that resembles a pint of Guinness, hear the legends of Glencree Valley and steal a kiss at the ‘P.S. I Love You’ bridge. Then, explore the monastic ruins in Glendalough before stopping for lunch in Ireland’s highest village.
  • Round-trip transport lets you explore County Wicklow without a rental car
  • Engaging commentary from your guide on the area's rich history and culture
  • Private tour for just your group at Glendalough
  • Many photo stops along the way are perfect for social media uploads
What to Expect
Make your way to the pickup point in Dublin and settle into your seat as the coach leaves the bustling city behind. Sit back and enjoy the scenery on the way to County Wicklow without the bother of puzzling over directions and traffic.
Stop at Glencree Valley and then continue past the heather and bog landscape of the Sally Gap, some of the most filmed spots in Ireland, to the bridge featured in P.S. I Love You for a photo stop. In Lough Tay, see the lake known as Guinness Lake and some of the filming locations from the movie Braveheart and the TV show Vikings.
On to Glendalough, famous for St. Kevin’s monastery and its 10th-century round tower as well as its upper and lower lakes. Learn about the ancient history of this site through your guide's commentary before heading to the village of Avoca for lunch at a local pub (own expense).

A great opportunity to see some nature outside the city. Our tour guide Richie was not only funny, he also shared a lot of knowledge without talking too much. We definitely recommand this trip (and Richie).
