Richard was a lovely guide who took us to some nice spots along the lake while informing us of local history. I definitely recommend him if you want a local's view of Killarney. He very kindly took some photos of us as well. Rua was a little too tired to join us that day, but

Yes Rua my red setter guide was tired that morning so only walked a short distance with us. We were lucky to get some nice Spring weather to walk around the shores of Loch Léin in the nice natural woodland of old oak, beech, holly, and other native trees. Thanks very much for walking with me ,and writing a great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while)

It was lovely to meet you both, and I enjoyed the hike so much myself that I would love to do it again tomorrow. We had a good share of rain before you arrived, but that showed the waterfalls at their best. The weather was lovely, and we were lucky to see the two wild goats even though its usually deer we see. I always love to call to where my grand mother lived an old cottage now in ruins surrounded by oak woodland. Thanks for walking with me, and writing a great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while)

It was lovely to meet you, and enjoy a relaxing walk in the lovely Winter sunshine. For me it was educational as I always learn something when I meet people especially about their home places. It was not a day for swimming in Loch Léin the largest lake in Killarney National Park, but at least the curious red deer kept an eye on us. There is a lot more to see lots of lovely walks so I hope you get a chance to return, and thanks for the great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while)

It was lovely to meet you, and show you some of the places I love in Killarney National Park. We were lucky to get some Winter sunshine at the 15th century Ross Castle on the shores of Loch Léin the last castle to fall to Cromwellian troops in the south of Ireland back in 1652. Some red deer also showed their faces to us which is something I always like to see. Thanks for walking with me, and please return sometime soon. Slán go fóill (bye a while)

Richard picked us (24M 24F) up with his car. We started our tour at the Ross Castle. Beautiful views from the start. It is clear that he has much experience and knows many details about the park and flora/fauna in general. There is a forest with many beautiful trees and great

Yes its a lovely place to walk the woodlands near the 15th century Ross Castle on the shores of Loch Léin, and lake which is about six miles long. Its connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the River Laune, and the Vikings knew this route very well. The remains of the old copper mines are still to be seen, and some of them were referred to as the Danish Mines so the Vikings must have worked there in times past. The mines were in existence for some four thousand years before closing in 1828. Anyway thanks for the great review, and if you don't find a bronze axe on your next visit maybe a lump of copper will be good enough. Slán go fóill (bye a while).
