The trip was very well organized. There was enough time to explore, enjoy and to fill our stomachs although the programme was tight. The trip wasn’t tiring and there were both young and old managing quite well.
Our guide, Adrien, spiced up the trip with interesting information and a lot of humour. Those who didn’t have much knowledge of English history or literature, got the taste when our guide played pieces by some of the famous British people from that region, e.g. a famous poem of William Wordsworth or some tales from “Peter Rabbit” by Beatrix Potter, one of which was read by Ewan McGregor himself.
On board we were given a specially designed map with the route. Our first point of interest was Castlerigg, where we could enjoy (for free) a stone circle, older than the Stonehenge. Later, we stopped at three charming English villages: Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere, where we were given some time to explore on our own. The first village is known of its delicious gingerbread and the grave of William Wordsworth. There we were given enough time both to buy and taste the gingerbread (or other food), to visit Wordsworth’s grave and to take a stroll in the village. Then there was time to take a hike close to one of the lakes in the District and enjoy breathtaking views.
The trip gives a unique opportunity to explore the charm of English villages and the beauty of English nature.

We went to Manchester to join tours from busy bus. We only have 2 days and luckily we are able to book Lake District tour. Frank was on time picking us up from the station and started the tour with great sense of humor. It was a wonderful day, sunny and frank was funny. He sets the mood in the bus to keep us entertained with the long drive. He is very informative and gave us bits from each places we pass by. I’ve been to alot of tours and I can say i enjoyed this much. Highly recommended.

I was riding with Frank which was a very friendly driver. My favourite part was when we walked into the trees and found the minibus on the other side. Next time we need charges at every seat instead of going to the front and charging it there. Overall it was realy good and i enjoyed it. Thank you Frank. Omer

16th of September - Tour in the Lake District with Frank
I didn’t know about the company Busy Bus but I don’t regret booking with them. We visited the most beautiful and interesting places, everything was well organised and on time, the views were amazing and Frank made the whole trip 10 times better with his kindness and stories. We will definitely book again with Busy Bus when we come back to the Uk for another adventure.

This was my first adventure trip with busybus and it was really a great experience. If you book, try to ask for Adrian. He is an amazing tour guide and the best entertainer with loads of knowledge about history n geography(he also knows a lot about witchcraft hahaha). No matter you travel solo or with family, this trip will be the best experience and busybus will take care of all the important stops.

Loved the tour today. Shelly was brilliant and she's exceptional with the kids. Even though I did not travel with kids myself, I could see that the kids that were on the bus absolutely loved her and the experience. The day was very well planned with plenty of time for everything. We enjoyed the stories that Shelly shared with us and learnt something new about the local area and history.

We had the best time ever! Definitely a trip we wont be forgetting! Frank made the whole trip so much better, his character and energy was amazing, even his live for the herdys 🤣 I would and have recommended this trip to everyone. Our guide, Stuart, met us exactly as planned, in time, and fully prepared for the day. The Busy Bus was clearly marked and immaculately clean. The ride was comfortable, and Stuart had every stop timed perfectly. It was a beautiful tour, and we learned a lot. It was a great balance between natural beauty and time to explore shops, cafes, and restaurants. We made it back to Bay A at the airport in a timely manner, and Stuart helped us find transit back to our hotel. A great day, over all.

We enjoyed the sightseeing and the scenic beauty. Our driver/guide, Stewart was very friendly, accommodative and informative.
It might be better to carry your lunch rather than spend time in buying it during the lunch stop. This will give you more time to explore the nice little town.

Terrific way to see the Lake District. Yes, the drive to get there (and back) was a bit long, but well worth it. Frank, our driver/guide, kept us entertained with a sense of humor and good music. He was informative and genuinely interested in making sure we had a good experience. The hike through Great Langdale looked imposing but was not as difficult as it appears and was a welcome respite from the drive. Lunch recommendation: Mathilda’s in Grasmere. I was blown away by the eggs & smoked salmon. Definitely stop at the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. I don’t normally like gingerbread but this was not your ordinary gingerbread! Frank expertly navigated through the narrowest roads with some hairpin turns.
