Skip the Line: Chateaux de Chambord, Chenonceau and Loire Valley Wine-Tasting Day Trip from Paris
From US$196.37
Marvel at the Loire Valley's opulent châteaux and taste its famous locally-made wine during this 12-hour tour from Paris. Skip the long entry line at the Château de Chenonceau and embark on a tour through its intricately carved stone walls, rich hanging tapestries and intimate chapel. Relax midday with a traditional French lunch at Nitray Vineyards, including tastings of the vineyard's Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Walk through the vineyards and learn about the winemaking process from your oenophile guide. Entrance fees, a gourmet lunch and round-trip transportation from Paris are included.
What to Expect
Following early morning pickup from central Paris, board an air-conditioned coach and get comfortable for the ride to the Loire Valley. On the journey, get to know your guide and small group of 25 other passengers.

Stop first at Château de Chambord, built in 1519 and used as a hunting lodge by King Francis I. Take a tour of the castle at your own rhythm to see its ornate French Renaissance architecture and dramatic staircases. Keen an eye out for the wild boar and deer that call the verdant castle grounds home.

At Château de Nitray, sit down for a gourmet lunch at Nitray Vineyards. Along with tastes of some of the Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc produced on site, enjoy a meal made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Listen as your guide talks you through the tasting notes for each wine, then end your visit with a post-prandial stroll through the vineyards.

Continue to Château de Chenonceau, where your special access tickets allow you to skip the long line and start your tour right away. Pass original stone carvings dating from the castle's construction in the 16th century, luxe tapestries and pause in the cozy chapel. Walk through the immaculate gardens before boarding the coach for the return trip to Paris.

Your 12-hour Loire Valley adventure ends with drop-off back at your original departure point.

Both are directly in front of the entrance to the Catacombs -- easy access from Metro (line 4 or 6) and RER B. Stop is Denfert-Rochereau.

Yeah, depending on traffic conditions. We left right on time in the morning and made it back around 7:30-8:00 pm. Totally worth it!

I am pretty sure the pick up was near the Paris Catacombs, which you can google to see the exact location. We stayed near the Louvre and took a taxi to the location.
