The perfect tour of the Champagne region!

My fiancé, friends and I booked the private 2-Day Champagne Tour with Frederic. Everything was perfect and we all highly suggest taking the 2 day option. The communication with the Best of France Tours team was very timely and helpful when setting up the trip.

We chose to take the train into Reims even though the tour included transportation to and from Paris. The 180 mph train ride was awesome as we sped through the French countryside.

We wanted a mix of history, culture, great food and both large and small champagne houses, Frederic did not disappoint. Everything Frederic selected was perfect. His knowledge and relationships throughout the region added a personal touch that we will not forget.

We will book again when returning to France!

A Perfect Day with Frederic

Frederic was our guide. His English is very good, he was personable and was very knowledgeable about Paris and the surrounding region. We visited Veuve Clicquot, then on his suggestion made a stop at Notre Dame in Reims which is fabulous. He then took us to a quaint village, after passing through beautiful vineyards, for a delicious lunch at a local cafe. We then stopped at a boutique champagne house in a delightful village to sample more wonderful champagne. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour of the region!

A Kentucky Bourbon Girl Learns About Champagne

My husband had business in Paris all day so I booked Frederic to take me on a private champagne tour. I was a little nervous that I would have a good time by myself but within a few minutes of driving down the road, I was completely at ease and had made a new friend. Our first stop was Reims Cathedral where I learned about the coronation of France's Kings and the architecture and history behind the beautiful cathedral. From there, we headed to a large Champagne house where I joined a few others to tour the cellar and have a tasting. Frederic was waiting for me outside as we went to lunch together. Lunch was delicious and I felt very local to the region. We finished our day at a small house where I ended up with a private tour of the cellars and tasting experience because I was there in January and it was low tourist season. We returned to Paris that evening and I have been telling everyone about what I learned since I have returned to Kentucky. January is rather bleak and chilly but I would happily return again in the winter because it meant very low crowds which made the experience feel even more special.

Wonderful trip to Champagne

We had a wonderful day exploring the Champagne region with Frederic Meunier as our guide. His English was excellent! He was knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information about the region and the champagne houses we visited. Frederic took us to a local restaurant which was very enjoyable, and the food was terrific. It was a day to remember!

A perfect way to experience the Champagne Region with limited mobility!
Frederic made our day in Champagne absolutely perfect. He arranged for us to tour one large Champagne House, along with two smaller Houses, that we would never have known about. He also directed us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch. I have limited mobility needs and he went out of his way to make the trip manageable for me. This attention to detail is so valuable and appreciated! He also easily engaged with my young adult children and was knowledgeable in pretty much everything! My kids words “hands down the best tour guide we’ve ever had.” Highly highly recommend!

Best Of France Tours was Best Decision for our Champagne Region Tour

This tour was recommended by a close friend with very high standards and it met all my expectations.too. We were led by Frederic who was prompt to pick us up, choose three small growers for us as my friend said they were a lot more "interesting" and personable. We were not let down by the quality of the locations, the tastings, the knowledge of Frederic and the experience. Best Of France Tours made the experience worth every moment and every dollar as an experience of a lifetime. We were all very pleased. This was a 5 star day. Merci, Frederic. Jon

Beautiful day in the Champagne Region

We spent the day touring the Champagne region with Frederic. He was an excellent guide and took the time to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed the day. We spent the morning at Veuve-Clicquot and the afternoon at Mason Penet-Chardonnet. We had lunch in Reims and toured the Reims Cathedral. The day was fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone!

Philippe, our guide and driver was absolutely amazing. He's originally from the Champagne region so extremely knowledgable on it. He booked great champagne houses for us to visit and knew all the best scenic spots. He took care of restaurant reservations and the timing of the whole 2 days. We got to spend time in the whole area. From the minute we were in touch I knew we were in very good hands. I can't honestly imagine a better experience than the one he made for us. The mode of transport was a brand new 6 passenger van. If you are thinking of doing any sort of guided trip out of Paris, look no further, Best of France tours more than lives up to its name!

An absolutely incredible experience! Our guide, Philip, was kind, pleasant, and knowledgeable. He was very thoughtful about choosing which champagne houses we toured, and it was so fun to learn about the region and French history from him. Hotel pick up and drop off made the trip convenient and easy, and the car was spacious & comfortable. Overall the tour was fun, enjoyable, interesting, and well organized. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Spectacular Day!
We had an amazing day with Phillipe. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. His van was very comfortable and clean. A big plus in our book. Phillipe goes out of his way to make your trip “ your own”. If your looking for a fabulous day Phillipe will make it happen!
