Interesting tour, great guide!
Sep 2019
Heard great stories about the history of people residing in Pere Lachaise, and even of some of the folks who come to visit them! It’s a beautiful cemetery, the mausoleums are amazing in their architecture. Wonderful tour for learning some of the history of France.

I wasn't sure that a trip to Pere Lachaise Cemetery was the very best present for my friend's birthday, but this tours led by Avi was absolutely fantastic. He was well informed and gave us so much information, without ever patronising or veering into mock comedic stand-up routine. Respectful, interesting and always fun, we had a two-hour tour and didn't get bored for one moment. Be prepared for some amusing and adult anecdotes as well as the sombre monuments to the Holocaust victims and resistance fighters.

Wonderful walking tour
Jun 2019 • Solo
Avi - our guide - was excellent. He had great stories about the people - some famous, some not - and the place itself. When we reached Oscar Wilde’s tomb it started to rain - a lot - but Avi hardly missed a beat. Highly recommended. Especially liked paying respect at Chopin’s tomb - one of my favorite composers.

Must see cemetery!
May 2019 • Solo
Did a well priced (ie: low) 2hr tour of the cemetery and it was great. Going back by myself this week. Most tours visit all the same graves so I'd avoid paying some of those high costs

elegant decay
May 2019
This beautiful, leafy green space is jammed full of samplings of architectural styles and details. Elegant and occasionally excessive,it reveals the social and political history of Paris through its residents. To be fully appreciated a guide is a must.

The tour of the famous cemetery is led by Thierry Le Roi
Is a professional and fascinating tour, the guide has extensive knowledge, he knows every corner of this huge cemetery and is full of stories about all the famous people. The tour takes place in French.

Lots of walking and famous sites
Apr 2019
Do not try and find the famous grave sites on your own or if you do you will be frustrated. Try and hire a guide it will say you time and headaches.

Pere Lachaise Cemetary
Oct 2018 • Couples
This is an historical treasure. You will find the graves of Chopin, Napoleone's sister, Bugatti, Jim Morrison and other greats.
You can puck up a map at the entrance as the cemetary is huge!!!
Wear comfortable walking shoes as the ground is very uneven and there are lots of stairs.
It is a peaceful, quiet and slow paced excursion.

Dear Agata Thank you for your interest but you are on the wrong account. Our account "Thierry Le Roi & les NécroRomantiques" isn't an account dedicated to the Père Lachaise Cemetery. It is only dedicaded to our ouwn activity : visiting the Père Lachaise Cemetery with our guides. So you could not attend one of our visites. If you had attended one of our visits, you would have learned that Napoleon's sister are not buried at the Père Lachaise : Elisa Bonaparte (1777-1820) is buried in the San Petronio Basilica in Bologna - Italy Pauline Bonaparte (1780-1825) is buried in Sainte-Marie-Majeure Basilica in Roma - Italy Caroline Bonaparte (1782-1839) is buried in the Ognissanti's Church in Florence- Italy Regarding Bugatti Ettore (1881-1947) and Rembrant (1884-1916) they are buried in the Dorlisheim cemetery, Eastern France ! Best regards
