Venture from Munich to Salzburg on a rail day trip with a guide at your side. Train travel in a new place can be daunting, but this excursion removes the hassle, letting you focus less on logistics and more on Salzburg. Once there, you'll get your bearings and hear Salzburg's history on a walking tour. Then, you'll enjoy ample free time to see the sights at your own pace.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in Munich, and board your train with your prebooked ticket. After just a 2-hour journey, you'll arrive in the heart of Salzburg.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the little Austrian city packs a punch with its history and culture. Hear tales of Mozart and the Sound of Music as you explore, and discover sights, such as Mirabell Palace Gardens, Salzburg Cathedral, and the Hohensalzburg Fortress.

When your walking tour ends, the afternoon is your own to explore as you wish. Perhaps visit Mozart’s Birthplace (Mozarts Geburtshaus), or sate your appetite with a slice of Sacher torte, Salzburg's signature sweet bite. In the early evening, you'll meet your guide for the train journey back to Munich.

Great guide and great day

Our guide was a friendly, clear and inclusive person who knew alot about the city and its history. We learnt about things like Mozart and The Sound of Music and viewed many places of interest. Well worth the money. Thank you. Ryan

Interesting Insights given by an entertaining guide!

Recently went on two tours with Veronika and loved every minute of it! Laid back, easy to listen to and always amusing throughout the tours. Paid great attention to everyone and despite the sporadic thunderstorms, spirits were kept high! Highly recommend.

If you're looking for a quick day trip outside of Munich, this is a great break from the daily routine. We had a nice tour guide who quickly took us through the "must do's" of Salzburg -- but be warned, this city can not be...More

Fun day trip with a great guide.

Other reviews have said everything about this day trip and how great our tour guide Ali was. I simply agree with it all.

Go to Salzburg with Ali!

Salzburg was good, but our tour guide Ali was great despite the bad weather (50F and pouring rain the whole day). I highly recommend both! Note that you don't get free time to explore until ~2:15pm (and you need to get a late lunch during...More

We had a fairly large group but we had no difficulties hearing what our guide had to say. Karl lead us through the city and would stop at each place about which he had something to say. He would only start once everyone had... More

One trio from our tour went up to the fortress. It took up a good portion of their free time so I wouldn't recommend it unless you are in Salzburg for more than a day trip.
