We did this tour last week. Good comprehensive tour tour. But was tiring as it was really sunny and hot.
We travelled by train from Berlin and later by tram in Potsdam. Saw,all the sights. Our guide was very clear and knew his history.
Would recomend this tour

Really enjoyed the tour of Potsdam. The guide expertly takes you around the town, both walking and with public transportation. And the guide was one of the friendliest and most engaging I’ve had!

We were very lucky on two counts; a small group of 5 and a well-informed guide named Josh. The transport was easy, the timing and walking distances manageable and the information provided was second-to-none. How Josh managed to ensure that we never waited more than 5 minutes for a tram or bus is beyond me. Today was truly the highlight of our trip to Berlin; thank you.

This is probably a fantastic tour for younger people, but for seniors like me (I’m 76 and in good health) it was too strenuous. The actual tour takes about five hours, with moderate walking for maybe three and a half to four hours of that.
Our guide, Tobi, was knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic, though having grown up in the former East Germany he repeated and over-emphasized life before and after reunification, in my opinion.
He also, however, spoke at length about the palaces and castles of Potsdam, as well as the history of the city itself. His heart is in his work, and it shows.

Dear Bill H,
Thank you for your review. Yes, this is a longer 6 hr tour which necessitates quiet a bit of walking. We are always trying to hit that sweet spot between showing our quests as much as possible and not exhausting them! We hope that when you think back on this tour you will recall the outstanding beauty and wonderfully interesting history of Potsdam more than anything else.
Kind regards,
Gerard

The weather was superb as we got the train to Potsdam.
Maria was excellent - informative and enthusiastic - and even made a change so we saw an The New Palace.
There was so much to see from a Viking house to palaces to the Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin conference venue, the grounds and naturists!
Well worth doing!!

We have been twice lucky. The weather was fine and our guide was Maria : a witty and cultured person and a very good storyteller. The group was small (9 persons) and we didn't know each other but the day ran smoothly and friendly. I recommend the tour.

My husband and I recently went on this tour. Directions for meeting point, etc were very clear. Josh, our tour guide, was very informed and we learned a lot. Our tour ran from 10 am to about 3:30pm. Potsdam was very pretty - castle and gardens were a nice walk. There was no opportunity to go inside the palaces. This tour only visits the gardens outside. The old town was quaint and lovely. We were only given 30 minutes for lunch there. I wish we had more time so we didn’t feel so rushed, and also had some time to explore the town on our own.

What a fantastic 6 hours, full of information and humour. Maria's storytelling of important and trivial facts was told in a wondrously quirky way that kept us interested and amused. No dull history walk this one.
Maria did it very cleverly, combining tram, bus and walking, with perfect timing for catching these vehicles. I would recommend this tour, and particularly Maria, to any visitor to Berlin.

Tour guides tend to vary both in terms of enthusiasm and knowledge, We were extremely impressed with Maria of Insidertour.com Berlin, who not only ticked all our boxes, but went the extra distance to make sure everyone was well looked after, spanning the gap between ordinary and superlative. Her presentation was fluent and often humorous, and her knowledge impressive. She optimised the use of public transport making routes viable even for those not too fit, I am 71 and my wife is in her late sixties,

On my tour we did not enter the Palaces but I think that there is public access. I'm sure that time was a factor on my visit.

I see very positive feedback on this tour and i'm so interested in purchasing it but really confused as ii is not clear if we gonna meet in Berlin then ride the train or bus to Potsdam? or gonna meet in Potsdam ?

It is a very interesting tour, highly recommended. The tour group meets at Zoological Gardens and takes a 30 minute train ride to Potsdam. From the Potsdam station we used local the Potsdam bus service to get to the Neues Palace and the same again to Sansoucci Palace. We walked from Sansoucci Palace to Cecilienhof Palace and on to the Glienicker Bridge (Bridge of Spies) before taking the Tram back to Potsdam Station for the train to Zoological Gdns.
Do we meet in Berlin and then ride the train together? Or do we meet you at Potsdam?

We met in Berlin and went on the train together with our guide. It is well worth doing that as the guide then takes you on buses in Potsdam

Yes you can, you just need to buy the entry tickets into the palace. Have a great time and my apologies for the delayed response. Cheers.
