The split helped to a contribute to a unique streak of “non-conformity” that persists to the present day. As you explore the alternative “underbelly” of modern day Berlin, you’ll check out examples of its thriving street art and graffiti culture, visit the scene of past protests, riots, and demonstrations, and visit some of the city’s most popular underground neighborhoods.

You’ll also have the chance to visit the East Side Gallery, one of the last remaining intact stretches of the Berlin Wall, and learn how gentrification and urban development are changing the fabric of this dynamic capital of a modern Germany. You’ll end your experience at the East Side Gallery.
