JUST GO!!!!!!
I must say I was really nervous before going to Caminito Del Rey. Articles saying that it was really dangerous and it was called ‘the walkway of death’. NONE OF THAT WAS TRUE.
It was the most beautiful experience I have ever had in my life. The view was breath TAKING. It was all safe. The guide helped us all the way long. She was very kind and funny. If you are doubting going to Caminito Del Rey, JUST GO!!!! You won’t regret it, you have my word. It was a once in a lifetime experience!

Good tour and guide.

The guide, (pablo?) was very well organized and informative, both about the history, flora and fauna as well as what to expect. Made a lot of interesting comments in Spanish. That helped make for a smooth and interesting visit including one hour bus ride from Malaga.

Terrible guide
Jan 2020
We took the tour to Caminito del rey with Julia Tours with a “guide”.

We have never met a guide who was so uninterested in her job. During the bustrip she almost gave no informations but spend most of her time chatting with the driver. At the site - which is beautiful - she let all participants take care of themselves and gave no advice, explanations etc. We got the impression that she only wanted to get back home asap. The time set for us to walk through the canyon was far too short. We had to run through the path, from start to finish.

This is our last booking of Julia tours.

Visited 15th Jan 2020 by car. The walk is strictly one-way, from North to South. There is limited parking near the El Kiosko restaurant at the We did the trip 15 Jan 2020. The walk is strictly one way from north to south. There is limited roadside parking near El Kiosko restaurant at the north end, with a 2euro car park about 500m further away. There is also very limited parking at the south end, near El Chorro railway station, from where you can take the half-hourly shuttle bus to El Kiosko for 1.70 euros. From El Kiosko it is 2.7km through trees along a relatively level gravel track to the pay station at the start of the Caminito proper. We hadn't pre- booked so we paid the full price of 10euros each. It is then a full 5km along a mixture of narrow boardwalks clinging to the mountainside high above the river, and a mid section of fairly level gravel paths to the final very narrow boardwalk section, which is a good 100m/400ft above the river, including a rather bouncy suspension bridge with a see-through metal grid walkway, followed by lots of wooden steps, both down then up, to the final gravel pathway to the end at El Chorro, from where you get the shuttle bus back to El Kiosko. We parked in the 2euro car park near El Kiosko, and our phone app showed that we had walked fully 9km in total. The temperature in January was quite mild 60°F/16°C, so it was quite comfortable for walking, plus the number of visitors was fairly small, so we really enjoyed the walk. However in the height of summer, I can imagine that the temperatures and the crowds would make it far less pleasant, plus it could be impossible to find a parking place. The good news, though, is that a brand new car park and visitor centre appears to be almost finished about midway between the north and south ends, with shuttle buses running back and forth, which should solve the parking problem, although, for the time being, out of low season, an organised coach excursion would appear to be the best way to visit. Once you leave El Kiosko, there are no toilets until you reach the pay station 2.7km away; then there are no further toilets till near El Chorro railway station - approx 6km without "facilities". Similarly, there is nowhere to buy snacks or drinks between El Kiosko and El Chorro - approx. 8km/2-3 hours - so take enough with you.

One of the best days of out holiday
Excellent value for money, would recommend you book online in advance a few months before as it can get busy and the only chance of getting tickets would then to go there before 8.00am on the day and hope for the best. There was 7 of us in our group - 3 of which don’t like heights lol but still went ahead and completed it. Well worth a visit. Just make sure you take lots of water with you, and a bit of advice - go to the loo before you start as there are none on the way round and if you want to go at the finish then make sure you have tissues as no loo paper lol. Myself being one of the 3 that don’t like heights would defiantly do it again.great views and well worth a visit. Afterwards we went to have lunch in the lakes which again I would highly recommend so make sure you take your swimsuit and a towel

Alexander was a great host , took us to little villages, orchards and introduced us to various culture and fruits. Thsnk you Alexander for making this day so enjoyable.

Teambuilding with colleagues
I had no idea what we would do, only that I needed to take hiking shoes.
It was a wonderful experience! Not too much for someone like me with chronic pains. It was challenging but possible. Definitely worth it!
Not for people with extreme fear of heights. 😬🤔 But no problem for my colleague that has a mild form. She was brave.
You need a camera but no selfie sticks allowed!
We didn’t wait for the guided tour since it took another half hour extra. But we loved it anyway. Tour guide is not needed.
We chose to drive to the end point and take the bus to the start. So when we were done we could just take the car home. Perfect!

Great hike, however too long to come back
Sep 2019 • Friends
The hike was pretty. I expected the hike to be much more adrenaline-inducing but it’s totally safe. Our driver took 3 hours to come back which was a bummer. Overall a pretty fun experience for Malaga :)

Dear Alice H, Thank you for your feedback. I am delighted to see yo had such a good time during your excursion to Caminito del Rey. The return trip followed our pertinent operations since we pick up and drop off at different places along Costa del Sol to facilitate the experience to visitors lodged in different hotels. Kind regards, Alex b.
