interesting and enjoyable tour
Feb 2020
We had 4 days in Seville and decided to book 2 trips with Naturanda - Cathedral and Alacazar and this one to Italica. Our guide was Sergio who besides being very knowledgeable about the Roman site and the monastery had the bonus for us of being a birdwatcher who helped me identify a light phase booted eagle soaring over the ruins!

Great way to spend some time in Seville
I had a really great time on this half day trip. We were a relatively small group of people, and I went on the trip as a solo traveler. Our friendly guide Enrique was very knowledgeable about Italica and the monastery, and easily answered questions for us. We enjoyed a short break after visiting Italica to sample some local snacks and sweet wine before heading off to the monastery.

Italica exhibits some excellent mosaics displaying figures from mythology. The amphitheatre is spectacular and it's well worth walking up to the upper parts of the building to get a good view of the area.

The monastery of San Isidoro del Campo was very quiet, so we had lots of space to explore it. Enrique guided us through the buildings, and I was particularly impressed by the wonderful frescoes throughout the monastery.

This was an excellent trip and I would highly recommend taking part.

Italica is larger than I realized. Certainly worth visiting. The monastery is also very nice.

Our guide was good and other than a miscommunication about a meeting point he was knowledgable and friendly.

Good Half Day Option for a day Tour
Jan 2020
It's a good tour if you have more time while in Seville and/or interested in Roman ruins. The drive is short, guide was good. Would have liked to have spent more time at the Coliseum and less on the living areas. The Coliseum was the best part but we spent the least amount of time there.

Catherine was awesome! The amphitheatre was incredible! So much history! The orange wine was very good! The timing of the tour was perfect because as we were leaving, the crowds were heavy at the gate.

The tour is interesting. The guide is nice but mediocre in her ability to tell stories. Her English is only fair.

Journey back to the roman era.
We met for our tour as directed by the company we booked with (Julia Travel) and were met by Montse of Naturanda.
She checked everyone’s tickets and noted a problem with ours, but after a call to her office she quickly sorted things out and invited us to accompany the group. I have no idea why the Julia Travel guide did not show up, but I imagine the two companies sorted this out between them.
I’m so glad that Montse sorted this out quickly and with the minimum of fuss because visiting Italica was the whole reason we came to Seville and had been booked months in advance.
We thoroughly enjoyed Italica, and Montse provided a good explanation of the remains and why the site was originally chosen by the Romans.
What has been uncovered in Italica itself has been beautifully preserved and the grounds well kept for visitors.
There is a building which shows a film detailing what the city would have been like.
I would have liked to buy a guide book but there didn’t appear to be any on sale and also 3 ladies toilets really isn’t enough - leading to long queues.
We were also taken to a local bar for a sample of the local orange wine which was delicious. The tour ended with a visit to a monestry which was unexpected but nevertheless also very interesting.
I can’t thank Montse enough for this tour - we enjoyed it immensely.

Our guide Montse was very knowledgable and kind. Originally we were planning to rent a car and visit on our own, however having a guide helped us to better imagine what it may have been like when Italica was a Roman city. Enjoyed as well the end trip to the monestary. I learned a lot and hope Italica can be declared a unesco world heritage site to preserve its magic.

Fantastic tour
Sep 2019
Seriously good tour, Montse our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgable about the Roman remains plus passionate about their preservation and the development of the site.

Italica is a really interesting place, definitely worth a visit and the ease of being picked up and ferried around makes a huge difference, plus the added extras of a glass of wine or beer at the restaurant across the street and the monastery tour just summed up a lovely morning.

It was about four hours in total and very much worth it.
