1st day we arrived at camels at 12.15pm was far too late, it was all booked up. We went on a reserve list, stayed for a good 2 hours only to be told we didn't make it n had wasted our whole day travelling from puerto mogan to maspalomas by bus.
2 days later we tried again, got a cab from puerto mogan approx 32 euros. Got there for 8.45am a much better time, it opens at 9am. Only 6 small groups in front of us. Within 10 mins there was a massive queue behind us. Be aware even if you Ave purchased a ticket in advance- a early time slot say 9.15 10 10.30am etc it means nothing. Its all about where you are in the queue. You could b waiting many hours, it's a 1st come 1st served basis. My advice is get there at 8.45am 8.50am no later otherwise you will spend your day here and it gets too hot. This place is very popular, cost around 70 euros for a family of 4 (2 a 2 c) A good experience, takes a good 30mins 35mins to ride round which is too long imo.

    1. Come early we were there before 8.30 and there were already half a dozen people queueing
    2. That's it!

Enjoy! Oh if you are afraid of heights then expect a bit of a shock when the camels get on and off I literally squealed to the delight of my daughter and all the other guests. Was great and an experience I will never forget. In a good way.

So we went straight at the site to buy the tickets and the salesman was very rude and not helpful at all. The camels do not well treated, they look tired and overworked, Although I understand the need of the wire in their mouths it feels like we are mistreating the poor animal, needless to say that I will never do such ride again, in the desert they do not look like this and even that we are riding them they look much more comfortable.
The ride itself has nothing interesting to see, you do not go to the dunes, you wonder around for 40 min and see nothing.

Thanks for your review, it´s always helpful to improve our experience. We are sorry to hear that you did not like our experience. We just want to point out that our animals are very well treated, fed and cared for, they are born with us and the whole team looks after them with great affection. Best regards

This was a good trip - very worthwhile to see the dunes up close and something a bit different too. The men working there could have been friendlier and didn’t really tell you what was going on i.e no warning when the camels were standing or sitting. The woman was very welcoming though. The camels seemed in good condition too which made me feel more at ease. I would recommend but make sure you have sunglasses as the sand gets blown everywhere in the wind.

Our hotel told us it's not possible to buy tickets in advance, you have to go in early morning and get in the waiting line to get some tickets. This can take 30 min/1 hour. If you are lucky you can return later that day to enjoy the ride. It's a nice walk but lasts only 30 minutes. Ok to do but would not recommend if you are not nearby.

This was a really nice but short experience, however not worth the wait we had. We arrived at 10am with a booked ticket and was told that our ride would be at 12:30. The walk into the shopping area is about 15/20 minutes and so we can wasted the time we had by wandering around the shops.
I would advise anyone interested to arrive at 9, ticket or no ticket to ensure the shortest possible wait time

When we arrived, we were a little disappointed at the reception area, no-one at the desk, and lots of people milling around. Eventually a guy arrived and told us it would be an hour wait. He wrote out a ticket, passed it to us and walked off with no welcome, than you, where to wait etc.
Luckily there is a circular covered area so we could escape the heat fit a while. There were vending machines with cold drinks and ice cream, and a concrete bench surrounding the area. No instructions re what happens at all, a small booth selling soft toy camels and small toilets. We walked out to the area where the camels were resting and were able to photograph and stroke them. When it came to the ride, the handlers were very good, and our seats (either side of the camels) were balanced. When the camels stood, we were finally up and riding (forgot to mention a member if staff calls out your number when its your turn to go the the camels). A slow 30 minute trek in a loop around the dunes was enjoyable, and the camels seemed to be treated well throughout. Good one-off experience overall, but a better and clearer welcome would have improved it. Decent value for money too.

Frustrating start to our trip to the camel farm as the man on the front desk didn't seem to know what to do and was very abrupt and kept telling us to speak to "the lady". The lady in question was doing everything including stocking up the vending machines and eventually she and the man on the front desk aligned to book us in. This meant we had to wait for 2 hours to ride something we had pre booked and paid for.

Once we'd got that out of the way things improved immeasurably and we split our group of 5 over 3 camels and I shared with another very nice lady from another group.

The camel handlers are very good and well trained and communicate well and treat the camels well as far as I could see. We had a nice ride through the dunes and arrived back safely.

If not for the problems at the start this would have been rated higher. This side of the enterprise should definitely be improved. I imagine that as there was a sign saying all tickets sold that, they'd checked out early despite paying customers still requiring some assistance.

Camel riding was such fun for our family of 7! The guys are a tad unorganized but the ride was fun along and around the sand dunes, take a camera and a bottle of water as it is so hot! They also have a nice waiting area for those of you that dont like to ride the camels. You can purchase a photo that 1 of the guys takes, like all attractions they try to gain as much income as possible. I would recommend for a mornings entertainment!

The camel riding itself was enjoyable.
We arrived not long after 10am and the queue was huge.

Despite having pre-paid tickets, we couldn't get on a camel ride until 1pm, so had to go to the nearby beach to pass the time.

The man at the desk said you need to arrive much closer to 9am even if you have a pre-paid ticket as it's pretty much first come, first served.

The walk off the main road down to the camel place is also quite tricky terrain with a buggy (a lot of sand and gravel).
