A day that I'll remember forever. The Rykers are super easy to control and ride. Highlights... * Riding along the coastline by the turquoise sea with the sun in my face and the wind at my back. * Riding up the mountain track to a height of 1km, just above the clouds!! * A beautiful, traditional, Canarian lunch in a cave restaurant built into the mountains. * A lovey stroll arund the stunning town of Agüimes. Top tips... * Take plenty of sun cream and some water. You are exposed to the sun for the full day. It feels cool with the wind whilst you are riding but you are exposed to the sun for the full time. * There is a short 20 minute hike around the mountains and a 20 minute stroll through the town of Agüimes so be prepared to do a little bit of walking. * Wear comfortable underwear and shorts/trousers. The riding can become a little uncomfortable after a while. * Take lots of pictures!! A special mention to our guide, Dani. He was such a lovey young guy. Super knoledgeable about everything, very patient and relaxed attitude. He is an absolute credit to the business. Thank you, Dani, for a wonderful experience!! Went on the buggy tour with my girlfriend. The hosts Alex and “Speedy” Gonzalez were amazing, very welcoming, very informative and also funny.
Started off by driving into the mountains on long windy roads, stopped off at a checkpoint for us to take photos etc and switch drivers if needed, and then back down another route in the mountains back to base.
Then the fun starts - we then went on an off road track and that’s where the buggy’s really come to life. Driving the buggy’s on the off road part was so fun - but very dusty!
Be prepared for your clothes to get filthy. We would also recommend buying the bandanas at 2 for €5. If you don’t (or you try and use a face mask), it could ruin the off road part for you.
Overall though, would thoroughly recommend and definitely worth the money!

This was fun!
We originally organised hotel pick up but were advised that this didnt include drop off afterwards and so made our own way, and it was easy to mind.
We left the base in convoy and took the road into the mountains around narrow hairpin bends. This was the time that you realise the joys of powered steering - especially when another car whipped around a bend in the other direction on a single track road.
After the trip into the mountains, we went off road where the dust was such that it covered everything, obscuring even the car in front. This was the most fun part of the trip, as the vehicle whipped across rocks and craters.
They took a DVD of the trip which can be purchased form 30 euros.
This was good value - just dont forget your driving licence as this is a mandatory requirement to take part.

I booked Buggy Pirates for 4 of us, one of whom was celebrating his 21st birthday. Absolutely awesome trip, cannot recommend it highly enough. Our guide Alex was just such a lovely guy. He ensured everyone was safe but also having a fab time. He took the time to speak to each group. He explained where we were and interesting points. Can't believe how many languages he spoke. Great trip, we'll definitely do it again in September x

Had a fantastic Birthday surprise from my daughter, I’m stuck here in Gran Canaria as I can’t get home to NZ at the moment! What a great morning out! Picked up bang on Time by Alex, in spotless MPV. All forms completed “Don’t forget your driving licence “ and safety features explained.
Off we went, up and over some mountain passes and a few stops for picture opportunities at some stunning passes and small villages! Scenery is staggering from different viewpoints along the way.
Completed the route and then off to do some off-road fun!! Be prepared to get down and Dirty!! Was great fun and Alex and Fabi (Alias “Speedy Gonzales” mad sure everyone had a great time and some laughs! Make sure you take the video and pics that Fabi makes of your trip along the route, well worth it as a great keepsake!!
I can thoroughly recommend this trip, highlight of stay here so far. Thanks again to Alex and Fabi for a great morning adventure!!

This was a fun way to spend a morning. One of the team picked us up from our apartment and took us to the venue. After the form filling and safety brief we were off. There were 7 buggies in our group we started, in convoy, driving on roads up the mountains. The buggies were very easy to drive all automatic just stop and go. After the road trip it was off to the dusty track, and I was dusty. Then finally a road trip back to base and a lift back. Great fun

Me and my friends enjoyed the driving experience on and off-road with the buggies. The chosen route was fun with great vistas and activities like cactus fruit eating when taking a break in middle of drive. Thanks to Alex and Fabi for amazing experience!

Tldr: not enough terrain, too many photos, otherwise good.
We were picked up at the hotel on time, then we went to the organizer where we were given an introduction to the buggies. Group photos were also taken and you could buy drinks/snacks/scarves.
Then, after a little animation from our tour guides a la "now everyone put your hands up for the photo" etc., we set off.
The route led up the gorge, on narrow mountain roads. Very beautiful, but nothing that you can't experience by car.
Short stop, even more animation, the pirate flag is waved, everything a bit over the top for my taste, but most people seemed to like it.
"Speedy" whizzes around the buggies the whole time on his scooter and takes photos of everyone at pretty much every bend.
Then, after a lot of road, we go briefly into the terrain, about 5-10 minutes in total, then straight back onto the road.
For me, the biggest drawback of the tour. The buggy was the most fun off-road, but apart from a few meters of gravel and then kicking up a bit of dust in a sand hole, it has nothing to do with "off-road". A real shame.
At the end we all had to put on pirate hats and could buy all the photos and videos from the tour for €35.
Not my thing, but a few people snapped them up.
Conclusion: driving a buggy is fun, the route is beautiful. But you can also experience 95% of the route yourself in a car, so I wouldn't do it again, only if there was more terrain/off-road involved.
I would give it just under 4/5 stars, the buggies were in good shape and with 900ccm they had a lot of power 😁👍

Sebastian collected us from our hotel promptly. The rules and importance of safety were clearly communicated in 3 languages to accommodate the various nationalities, with a touch of humour thrown in. Riding in a convoy of 12 buggies we hit the roads heading out of Maspalomas and up the mountain. Narrow roads, edge of a cliff and hair pin bends! We then pulled on our goggles and bandanas to hit the dusty off road trek. As co-pilot/passenger I could take in the stunning views of the mountain, valley and canyon while my husband focused on the path. Afterwards we headed back down finishing in a dusty area of waste ground where we really let loose and raised up a storm of dust and sand.
Exhilarating and fun couple of hours safe under the guidance and watchful eyes of Sebastian and Alex.
Highly recommend!!!

First thoughts before booking was quite expensive however after 5 minutes we could tell it was more than worth it! Guys were all excellent positive and up for a laugh. Your was 2 hours of roads uo the mountains and off road bumps. Well worth it and wanted to do it again straight away. Thanks to Luciano, Sebastian, speedy gonzalez and the team. If you want a great day out you need to book 👍

Lots of fun with windy turny roads. They make you fill up documents in regards to insurance and driving license etc which made me feel safe. In the first part you’re driving on normal roads which takes you up a mountain to a view point. You then come back the the base point and they take you on the second half the off road part. I was quite scared on driving on the left hand side as in the Uk we drive on the right, but it was completely fine just giving way to people on the left on the round about was a little wierd. Alex and Fabio were great and at the end they we wanted to go back to sand dunes and they dropped us off to the Best bit. Lots of fun with bumpy rides the only annoying thing was that there were a lot of cyclists on the day we went so the bendy roads you had to slow down quite a bit taking the fun out of things. Even on the off road parts there were lots of cyclists! My only recommendation would be to be able to play music that would add to the fun!

Yes you do. If there are two of you and you both want to take a turn driving that is possible as well. Just take both your licences. The stop a few times along the way to change over.
I have to say it was one of the highlights of the holiday. My wife was a bit scared along the way but she did say afterwards it was a great experience.
The staff are really helpful. The buggies are automatic to is just a case of accelerator and break. Then steer. You can buy the bandanas there if you dont have one. Take old cloths and closed shoes. We left the t shirts at the hotel as they where just to dusty to take home.
