Nice crew
Nov 2021
The crew was very kind and joyful and the surroundings were beautiful. However I would have liked to be sailing more than ca. 25 minutes.
Your ferry from Orzola to La Graciosa departs at about 11:40, and the catamaran from La Graciosa sails to a bay were you lay for about 2 hours to swim or to go to the beach. After that it goes back (by motor) to the harbour of La Gracioca and you'll arrive there at about 16h, and then you can take the ferry back to Orzola on Lanzarote. The ferry is included in the price.

Sounded wonderful … in reality it fell somewhat short.

We were asked to meet at a certain pick up point at 9 am; bus was late - eventually arriving at 9.30 am - and THEN spent the next hour collecting people from other hotels before we were back at the original point they picked us up from ( which was on the main road !)
.10.30 am departure from Playa Blanca and midday arrival at the port for our trip by ferry to La Graciosa to pick up the catamaran for our island tour.

12.30 pm catamaran departure, sailed a short distance to one bay for lunch, swimming/snorkelling if you wished , then 3 pm back to the ferry point at La Graciosa ( half hour sail) for our 4.30 pm ferry to Lanzarote
Cruise itself lasted just 3 hours

Plus points on the cruise - lunch and local beers/wines/ soft drinks included; minus points no attempt to sail around the island so I still don’t feel we got to see any of La Graciosa other than the closest bay (Pirate Beach)

However what was of REAL concern was, despite signs everywhere exhorting us to wear face masks and observe social distancing, there was no attempt to enforce this either on the coach to the port ( which was absolutely full) or on the ferry which was also full.

In these Covid pandemic times there should have been two coaches and two boats for the numbers on this particular trip so that we could all breathe a little easier ….. instead the operators acted as if Covid had never happened !

Disappointed …….

If you like waste your money and time - then go for it
Not worth it at all. At first you are going to be picked up by bus to travel 1 hour to port Orzola (fair enough) and if you are staying at Playa Blanca better consider to go to Papagayo Beach (even by taxi) as this will make for you the same day out but much cheaper than going on this catamaran, which sail in total for 40 minutes. When you get to Port Orzola will be of around 11am and you will have to wait half hour for ferry to cross to La Graciosa island. Ferry crossing takes 30 minutes. When on La Graciosa you will go to catamaran at local marine and board up. They will welcome you with bit of a bubbly in a paper cup and give you some canapés. Then off you to "sail" 🤣🤣😂 20-25 minutes to nearest local beach next to a yellow volcano where they anchor and let you swim or use kayaks for all most 3 hours (lunch in the meantime- simple but tasty). Well this is the end of the excursion as you will sail back 20 minutes to marina from where you arrived. After that you have 30 minutes to walk around before ferry will take you back to port Orzola on Lanzarote, ferry is crossing again 30 minutes. You back to Lanzarote and bus will take you to your hotel in ie. Playa blanca.
All excursion at this price is a sort of joke as is boring and not offering anything alike you can experience when on Tenerife or Gran Canaria. If I add up all "sailing" 🤣 with ferry crossing this will make 1 hour and 40 minutes maximum. So summarising if you like to save some money then better go to local beach where you'll find kayaks as well. I am sorry but won't recommend this to anyone unfortunately as is waste of time and money.

Good day out & gluten free catered for
Pros

Able to book gluten free food in advance with tour company
Friendly crew
Large clean boat
Opportunity to use kayaks and swim from boat
Welcome snack, plus pasta and salad lunch. Gluten free lunch of chicken, potato and salad provided as requested at booking .

Cons
Transfer was around 30 mins late (our reason for 4 stars and not 5)

perfect in every way
Aug 2021
Had a fantastic day with my 3 sons aged 14+, the crew were attentive, the food was lovely and it was very well organised indeed. All Covid guidelines were adhered to and it did not interfere with our enjoyment. We took our own masks and snorkels which was advisable as they are currently not able to use shared ones. The Kayaks on the beach were fun too, only criticism was the day went too quick. We were blessed with some cloudy skies but make sure you wear sun tops and top up on sun cream, though plenty of shade on the boat. Thankyou so much for a memorable day.

Fabulous day trip !
Feb 2020 • Solo
This was a great, fun and entertaining day trip, enjoying lunch and drinks on a catamaran, and making landfall twice on La Graciosa to explore the beaches, and on the second occasion, explore some of Caleta de Sebo. Would highly recommend! Superb value too! Very friendly boat crew :D

Little disappointed
Sep 2019 • Couples
We were disappointed because there no music being played at all on the boat until we were getting off, that’s when you saw people relaxed and smiling . You are on the boat quite a long time and especially when you have stopped for lunch, swim and Jet Ski ride. It just lacked atmosphere. So because it lacked this fundamental aspect, it spoilt it for us. . The staff try their very best to entertain you, but it falls short. We’ve been on lots of these excursions so am able to compare. The food and lunch was adequate and the staff were lovely.

Best day of the holiday
Sep 2019 • Couples
Picked up from Matagorda, bus journey was fairly comfortable but a little long, but considering we had to go all the way up to the top of Lanzarote it makes sense and was totally worth it.
We hopped on a ferry (which we thought was the catamaran we were going to be on all day which would have been a bit disappointing) then to land on the volcanic island were we jumped on our real catamaran which was much more like the discription. Staff were super fun and very professional. Plenty of booze and snacks to start off with and some facts about the area on the way.
We stopped at a lovely location by the volcano and the "French beach" and we could kayak, stay on the boat, go to the beach, swim or snorkel. We swam and snorkeled and the fish were plentiful! So many amazing looking fish and crystal clear waters.
We came up on the boat for more drinks and lunch (which was lovely and accommodating for vegans!) And then jumped back in the sea for another relaxing swim.
Honestly can't describe how lovely the sea was and we kept saying how much of a lovely time we were having. Defo best day of the holiday and well worth the money.
Amazing views, good food, great staff, phenomenal waters and really fun!

Loooong Coach ride
Sep 2019
The two hour coach ride of pickup's from other hotels was looooong and by the time we got to the Ferry, we had enough.
The snacks were ok, but the drink was plentiful. The lunch was ok (pasta and sauce, with salad and a banana). What do you expect on a boat I suppose.
The overall time on the boat was good and the island was lovely.
My advice is that, unless you are happy to sit on a coach for two hours (each way), look for a boat trip that is nearer your hotel. There are plenty of them around.

Disappointing! Mis-sold by the Rep but staff working on the boats were friendly and accomodating
Sep 2019
When my partner booked this excursion with a rep near the Marina Rubicon the rep wrote on the 3 leaflets with 3 different types of sailing experiences with max amount of people for each one and prices : 1) catamaran with max of 12 people 2) Gourmet sailing max 8 people and 3) Catamaran tour of Graciosa and 18 People max. This information was written down on the leaflet so that my partner can show it to me later as i was not with him at the time.

We chose option number 3 and paid an initial deposit of €33 and in the end it was €118 in total.

Now to our surprise when we got on the catamaran we were expecting max 18 people, however, there was 50+ people on board. We felt like sardines in a can, not a pleasant experience at all! There is nothing luxurious about this at all. It was just so hectic and not enough room to move around and have the full experience of enjoying the views- not relaxing

FOOD: They served the tiniest amount of cava when we boarded with barely any tapas basically 1 inch of melon, 1 muscle in butter and garlic, 1 potato, 1 bread with some meats on. Then for lunch they served pasta with tomato sauce or tomato and tuna, banana and salad and bread.

DRINKS: Awful white and rose wine, very vinegary in taste and Stella Beer with soft drinks- they gave us 1 shot while sailing back to la Graciosa.

Resolution: We messaged the Rep and he said that "We must be getting mixed up" Then we explained that on the leaflet you gave us you wrote down max of 18 people, then the Rep replied "No the max capacity is 80 people" - We replied and said, This is obviously where the mix up occurred. 18 and 80 sounds very similar however, the fact that it was written down as one and eight thats where it was mis-sold, it is a shame that we did not keep the leaflets as i cleaned my bag before going on the excursion, otherwise I would have taken this further.

In the end, we were already in the boat, it was our last full day in Lanzarote and decided to just endure this madness and just go along with it. Luckily there was unlimited booze which helped ease the whole situation.

We would like to thank the staff of La Graciosa Sail, as they did an amazing job with making sure everyone was looked after, our Guide gave us some information on the coach on the way to the ferry and while on the catamaran which was great, and when i explained to him what happened, he ensured that we still had a good time even though it was not what we wanted.

NEVER GOING ON A CATAMARAN EVER AGAIN!
