      Pia rocks!
We booked the Gaudi walking tour. Pia was our guide. We had such a great time and learned about Gaudi but so much more - history of Barcelona, development of the city, urban planning history etc. Would recommend to anyone but especially someone with a deeper interest or understanding of how cities are built.

Excellent Overview of Barcelona's Architecture and Gaudi's Influence
My kids (ages 20 & 18) and I really enjoyed this very informative tour. Pia was an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who provides a lot of detail about the history of Barcelona and how that history impacted the city's layout and architectural design. My kids and I are definitely "city people" who enjoy wandering around looking at buildings, so this was just the right kind of tour for us. We also enjoyed talking with Pia after the tour was over!

      Highly recommend!
Our group of 7 (2 adults, 5 teens) learned so much on this tour. Our guide was Rafa and he was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and engaging. We saw the buildings around us in an entirely new light after the tour. Thank you for a great experience!

Fascinating tour but more standing and being lectured to than connecting with the historical buildings on the tour
This tour is especially well-suited to engineers, architects, urban planners & historians. Our guide, Pía, was extremely knowledgeable and freely admitted that she “geeks out” on this tour. I learned a ton about the history of Barcelona, qualities of building materials, how arches allow much larger structures to be built, water & sanitation planning … but less about Gaudí than expected. A fascinating morning but I had hoped to see and learn more about the many modernist buildings in the neighborhood we toured.

      Gaudi and more
This is a terrific tour. It really covers more than just Gaudi - we learned a lot! I was a little concerned about booking this tour, because they don't specify where the tour goes or whether they go inside any of the sights, and I was concerned about covering the same ground twice (we had already visited a few Gaudi sights on this trip). I didn't need to worry - the tour only goes into publicly accessible spaces, i.e. building lobbies, and the information provided was so in depth and well-presented, it was a beautiful compliment to our other experiences in Barcelona overall as well as specifically to Gaudi sites.

      Learn about the buildings
This tour is certainly worth your time. Conducted by an actual architect, you can learn a lot about Gaudi and about Barcelona in just a few hours. What I learned opened my eyes the rest of the time we were in town.

The Architecture Tour- Just Do It!
Carmen was amazing! Her tour covered so much of Barcelona's history which made the architecture come alive. Doing the tour early in our week's stay really put the rest of the city in context. And Carmen is so warm, approachable and friendly. One of our group is going to study Architecture as a graduate student, and she was thrilled with the tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain.

      Pia was fantastic!
This was a lot more than just a Gaudi tour. We learned so much about the history of Barcelona (urban planning, architecture, government). Pia was fantastic! While I don't know any of the other guides, I highly recommend Pia for any tour.

Fantastic Tour - Barcelona and Gaudi
This is for the Barcelona and Gaudi Tour. With all of the different types of tours, I wasn't sure if a $45 E lead by an architect would be worth it. IT WAS!! So much fun to dive into the design, building codes, and history, and I learned SO much more that other tour guides would know. While the focus was Gaudi, we also learned about other architects and designers. After 2.5 hours, most of us still wanted to continue walking and learning and talking. Highly recommend!!

      Very informative tour
We gained so much information about the city on our walk with Pia. To understand the buildings and the city design was enlightening. Such passion and knowledge. Easy to ask questions. I could have spent hours in her company

      10/10 recommend this tour
This tour set a VERY high bar for walking tours. Tomás started our tour with historical maps and images on the history of Barcelona, Cerdas and Gaudi which gave context to the rest of the tour. We experienced Gaudí through the eyes of an architect while walking the streets of Barcelona. It was like a dream come true. 10/10 recommend.

      Learned a lot about architecture!
Our guide, Pia, was very good. She was enthusiastic about architecture. I would not have noticed many details that she pointed out. It was very educational. A bit of a walking lecture. We were given listening devices so there was no problem hearing her.

      Must Do while in Barcelona
Thomas was an incredible tour guide, he was extremely knowledgeable about the architecture and history of Barcelona. I expected the tour to be good, but did not expect it to be as enjoyable as it was. Thomas has a great and detailed understanding of the area and makes the tour very fun. I would highly recommend!

A taste of Gaudi in a feast of Architectural History
Pia gave us a compact, immersive masterclass in history and architecture, presenting truckloads of information illuminated by a combination of stories, cultural references, and the buildings and neighborhood we visited. This is not just a “Gaudi tour” (which I hoped for and expected) but rather a mosaic that placed several of the man’s gems in context and allowed us to compare them with their contemporarily constructed neighbors, and with the architecture that appeared later. I enthusiastically recommend the tour and Pia as guide. Brava!!!

Amazing “ Barcelona Gothic to Modern” walking tour with Pia. I have architecture background and both I and my husband love history. Pia is fun and very knowledgeable and we learned so much from her about the city and details about how each style of architectures were built. Most tourists go the Gaudi tours but Barcelona is so much more! Rich in history and architecture in the old town! This is the best tour by far we had all our trips to Europe! Will definitely take another tour with Barcelona architecture Walks If we come back to Barcelona. Highly recommended if you love history and architecture !

We did not do the regular tour, we did a private tour. It was Gothic to Modern with Pia though - and it was FANTASTIC. This was the best thing we did in Barcelona, and quite possibly the best tour we have done in Europe. For sure top 3. Pia is extremely knowledgable, personable, and quite fun! You can tell, for sure, that she has a passion for architecture and her city. She pulled out maps, pictures, drawing paper, pencils - all to help us better understand the history of architecture in Barcelona. If you can do a private tour I would say do it - if you can not then get in on her regular tour. She is one of a kind! Thanks Pia for a great tour!!

This was the single most informative activity I did in a month in Barcelona. Pia is extremely knowledgeable and would answer all our questions, use visual aids and even pulling up a blank paper and explain architecture concepts on paper. The tour took one hour longer on our request, and was interesting throughout. At the same time being only four of us it almost felt like a private one and contrasted starkly with the big groups next ones touches upon subjects superficially. Well worth it!

PS not just for architects, anyone interested could follow

Our afternoon with Pia was splendid -- she has a astonishing depth and range of knowledge of Barcelona architecture and history, and she led us to many extraordinary and fascinating (and hidden) spots we never would have found on our own (including, incidentally, a spot for refreshment at the best gelato in Barcelona!). She was friendly and funny and entertaining, as well as informative, and we felt we had a made a friend by the end of our time together. She enriched our experience of the city beyond measure. We highly recommend Pia and Barcelona Architecture Tours.

100% worth it! Our guide Pia is an experienced and knowledgeable preofessional, passionate about the place and its history. Wouldn’t have found half the places we visited because the Barrio Gótico is such a labyrinth… it takes a local to show you around. Will definitely take another BWT next time.

If you have a special interest and previous experience with architecture then this is likely a great tour for you. It’s like taking a 201 vs. 101 class, it is a better tour if you have previous knowledge about the field. It is not designed as an ‘intro’ to Barcelona architecture tour. The guide had extensive knowledge, but didn’t know how to make it accessible to all members of our group. Think architecture encyclopedia vs captivating story teller, so if you already have an interest any of your questions can and will be answered but the guide is not a story teller and will likely not pull you in without previous interest. One teen and parent found it interesting, while the other two couldn’t wait for it to end.

As journalists, we travel for a living and generally shun guided tours, preferring to find out things by ourselves. But boy, were we wrong this time: The Gothic to Modern tour was simply spectacular. Give the credit to Pia, an architect and university-level architecture lecturer who made a three-hour stroll through the old city into a genuinely absorbing master course in history, sociology and design. We'd walked the area for three days before the tour and thought we knew it well, but Pia's expertise taught us that we'd only been looking at the buildings -- not really seeing the cues that spoke to their history and the stages of the city's growth. We left wanting to buy books on Barcelona architecture and history to see what else was there. Barcelona is a magical place, but both of us would agree that the tour was perhaps the highlight of our week-long stay. (And no, we weren't paid or otherwise induced to write this. It's all true.) Put this at the top of your to-do list if you're going there.
