What to expect
  • Your tour begins near Oppian Hill, from which you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Colosseum. On arrival at the world wonder, you’ll avoid long lines with your fast-track pass and head straight inside the Colosseum. Travel back 2,000 years as your guide tells stories of gladiator battles, bloody animal fights, and executions in front of 50,000-strong crowds of spectators. If you’ve opted to upgrade your experience, you’ll then visit the arena floor and subterranean chambers, which are usually closed to the general public. Visit cells in which criminals and wild animals were kept, and follow in the footsteps of Roman gladiators in the arena.   After ample time at the ancient landmark, you’ll continue to the Roman Forum via Via Sacra. The sprawling site has minimal signage, but your guide takes you to the highlights and gives you the inside scoop. Learn about the historical significance of the House of the Vestal Virgins and the Temple of Julius Caesar before concluding your tour with sweeping city views atop Palatine Hill.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Raff was very knowledgable and friendly. We went in winter and it was the best, very low traffic and good access to everything. The Colosseum is STUNNING in person, and the best way to experience it is with a guide to fill you in on the history of this colossal.

Paula was our guide, and we learned so much about the history of the Colosseum and the surrounding area! I had no idea how or why the structure was there, but learned its history with help of the learned tour guide Paula! (Who knew arena meant sand - and how it was used!) 😳 In addition to all of the fascinating information, I appreciated the pace of the tour (Paula did not rush, and since there was some stair and hill climbing, this was important and greatly appreciated!). I also enjoyed her reference to Rome as “our city.” Somehow that made all the information feel personal to her, and that she was sharing it with our group. I loved the special surprises on the tour - special spots that Paula shared for the perfect photo or the perfect view! Special memories were made today - thank you Paula!

Me and my friends had an amazing experience exploring Rome including the guided tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Nicholas our tour guide was very friendly and positive, and educated us on so many facts about the history of Rome. We loved every minute of it and 3 hours felt like 5 minutes with him!! Highly recommend Nicholas!! Thank you for the pleasant experience :)

One of those tours where my friend and I looked at each other halfway through it and said, "Wow, we did the right thing going this route for our Colosseum visit."

This is THE way to visit, from the skip-the-line entry to getting a crash course on all the essential highlights on both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum area. Saves a ton of time and hassle but you're also getting a great lesson while you're at it...in a perfect block of 3 hours (not too short, not too long).

The meeting point was a bit intimidating at first, with the crowd of people, but we soon split up into manageable groups (of about 20ish maybe)? This was the first tour I've been on with listening devices which was brilliant when you think about it. Didn't miss a word from Sara R., (nor her tour guide pole with the purple piece of fabric!)

The experience itself was quite incredible, to be in such a well-known landmark, front-and-center, and inside. Sara did an excellent job keeping a good pace and navigating through the crowds (it was quite crowded inside, so be prepared for some maneuvering).

Half the time is spent in the Colosseum, half on Palatine Hill where the views were quite majestic, and a great place to end the tour. Bathroom breaks are offered during the tour which I thought considerate, and the energy was just overall super positive, with both the guide and our group. Sara was knowledgeable of all the prime photo opp spots and also offered to take as many pics as everyone wanted. Loved her, and loved this tour. Worth every penny.

We were guided round by our lovely guide Giuseppe who was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and was highly engaging throughout. Good value for money. Good information. My only advisory to future customers would be that it is a long day! Be prepared to be tired afterwards!
