Small-Group Pompeii with Amalfi Coast Drive and Positano Stop from Rome
From US$222.10
Overview
Pack two of Italy’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites—the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii—into one day on a tour that includes easy round-trip transport from Rome. Your guide knows the best ways to get around Italy and keep you safe when driving along the twisty, hard-to-navigate roads of the Amalfi Coast, leaving you free to focus on the scenery rather than the roads.
What to Expect
Your Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour picks you up from central Rome. Hop aboard a climate-controlled vehicle, and get ready for the ride to your first stop of the day—Pompeii.

Once you get to the ancient Roman city, meet up with your guide and learn all about the history yourself as you follow your guide around the ancient ruins.

Afterward, your guide takes you down the roads of the Amalfi Coast on a beautiful vista drive. Your guide is an expert navigator, and heads down the roads easily even with the hairpin turns. Your group stops in Positano, where you can enjoy free time wandering the area. You can eat lunch while you’re there if you choose (own expense).

Your Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour ends with a ride back to where you started the day in Rome.

Wish it had less time in Positano and more in Pompeii

Overall, I enjoyed this tour. However, the 2 hours and 15 minutes spent in Positano was about an hour too long for me, although it wasn't yet warm enough for swimming, so that may be a great amount of time once summer is in full...More

A very long day, but well worth it!

Our guided tour of Pompeii was absolutely outstanding. We were there in January which means there were no crowds at all. We had time to explore much more than if we were there in peak season. The afternoon in Sorrento was beautiful and scenic. We...More

Long day, but well worth the travel time to and from Rome

Valerio was our guide/coordinator for the day whom we met at the meeting point for our small group tour (there were about 15 of us) and off we went and he provided useful commentary along the way. First stop was a store/cafe with samples. The...More

The ride to and from may kill you

We embarked from Central Rome in a 20 passenger Mercedes Van with 365,000 kilometers on it. We sat in the back and were thrown out of seats at one point due to poor road conditions. First stop was a tourist trap where you can buy...More

Not much luggage room on the vehicle, would probably depend on how full it is. Also, our tour went to Sorrento due to mudslides in Positano. We went to Sorrento first, had lunch, then went to Pompeii in the afternoon... More

I don’t know. I travelled with my daughter so we were 2 adults and it was fine. She booked a similar trip alone 2 years ago. When you book it and specify the number of travelers I’m sure they’ll let you know if it’s not... More
