- creaghtwin00ExcellentLouise was our tour guide. She was very informative and brought us to some wonderful sights. We especially liked Caesar's forum which was beautiful light up. I would highly recommend.
- F S00Great after dark tourI dont usually write reviews but this was an excellent walking tour. The admin and texts informing of the timings etc was good and Bryan our guide was great. Very knowledgeable, personable and clearly enjoyed his role. One of the highlights of my brief Rome trip.
- Inga M00Well spent time, highly recommendAnother brilliant tour with tour guide Louise, full of knowledge and delivering it really well. We could hear and fully understand her and she made our journey complete fun. 5 star service
- Q9816SJjamesc00Holy Doors - SO WORTH IT!This was my third time using More of Rome, and not the last for sure. Every time I come back to Rome, they seem to come up with something new. 3 Papal Basilicas have been on my mind for a long time, but I could never find the right tour. This one was just perfect. Our guide was passionate about history, and the Basilicas were breathtaking. You visit three ancient churches: Saint Mary Major, Saint Paul Outside the Walls, and Saint John in Lateran, and a huge bonus at the end of the tour is the relic of the Holy Stairs. If you're looking for something special to do in Rome, this tour is definitely for you. The transfers between the venues were a breeze, and we were even given some free time to relax and use the facilities. Overall a 5-star experience. Highly recommended!
- helenej2500Excellent tour and excellent guideThis is a an excellent tour and Sarah was an excellent guide The history of the Jewish community in Rome is extremely interesting and of course tragic at times , but what resilience has been shown The area and Trastevere are particularly attractive parts of Rome as well with some great roman remains like the Theatre of Marcellus Sarah was knowledgeable and fluent so a perfect guide !
- voice96100Excellent tour!Very informative without being boring. Really interesting facts and sites. Never really knew the background of this area. Amazing guide!
- Harvey W00Worth itHad a great time with a knowledgeable host who made the tour interesting and engaging. Walking round Ancient Rome with it lit up and learning history about it is a great way to see Rome.
- charlesnC7018TY00Ancient Rome at Twilight Walking TourExcellent tour with an excellent guide (Brian). It was great to experience the city at night all lit up, and our guide provided us with an excellent insight and knowledge on the city which enhanced the tour. Great tour, I would recommend this to anyone
- Glenn S00Well worth the ticket.Initially concerned that we may not find our guide (Sarah) but one quick WhatsApp call at the meeting time and problem solved. I would rate the 2 hours as outstanding. In 2 parts, there was the actual tour (locations, stories, events) and then Sarah’s general knowledge of the history of Rome, beyond the framework of the tour. The actual tour was great and took us places we would not have gone nor have had knowledge of the unique history of these locations. Sarah’s historical knowledge was unsurpassed. All in all worth every cent, away from the crowds and gaining more about some of the secrets or Rome.
- jfiveamigos00Great ExperienceLearned so much. It was really fun and had a nice time. Would highly recommend this tour The knowledge and history was so interesting. Sarah was just so excited to share the history of Rome and made it so much fun
- Ahahn06300Great tourBrian was an excellent guide! We got mixed up at the beginning and thought we were supposed to meet at piazza Venezia rather than the palazzo Venezia but I got a text a few minutes before the tour to help me get to the correct place. The tour was full of great facts and beautiful evening lighted views of beautiful places. We really enjoyed this tour!
- shawno80700Rome Shines at TwilightA beautiful way to experience this beautiful ancient city. A twilight tour hi-lighting the ruins of Rome is a wonderful time to explore. Seeing the city lit up is breathtaking. Sarah shared stories and the history of her adopted city with great enthusiasm. I would highly recommend Sarah and this tour.
- Moketastic00Good guide. Too expensive and more people. Not as advertised. Stated as 10 people or less, actually 12+guide. Guide was knowledgable but not the “curators”. Overall though, including the cost of entry to the Antica, it’s the best part of £70, and frankly too much.
- GZee3400Great day!We really enjoyed our tour of Ostia Antica. Was nice to get out of the busy Rome crowds for a time and see a very interesting Roman Trade-port. Sonia was our host, and she really educated us on what it was like back in the times. She is very kind and has great knowledge of the history. We really enjoyed this day!
- jennyc66900Excellent Tour and GuideThis tour was worth every penny! Amazing to see such well preserved sites. We got a good feel as to how ancient Romans lived and Sarah, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our many questions.

We spent a very enjoyable 90 minutes in the company of our personable and knowledgeable guide, initially meeting outside the gates of, Castel St Angelo and then taking a meandering route, through to our end point at, Largo di Torre Argentina. This is certainly more of a history lesson rather than a, 'Ghost Hunt, which the tour never claims to be in all honesty, but the title could be seen as misleading, as it certainly was for a group of New York students, who thought we would be venturing into creepy crypts and spooky locations, rather than dodging the crowds and traffic of Rome's city centre streets. Not quite sure why it's billed as, 'adults only', either, as there certainly wasn't any choice language and the tour is conducted at a steady pace. Possibly as the content is quite, 'dry', a younger audience wouldn't find it as interesting, if they were expecting some sort of, 'Scooby Doo', adventure! All in all, if you want a bit of a guided tour of Rome by night, learning a bit more about the history and perhaps stopping at a few buildings you would otherwise walk passed, then this certainly gives you that. But if you're looking for things that go bump in the night, then this tour, not so much.

Jason, we appreciate the time you took to review your experience. We are happy you enjoyed the company of your guide, our guides are excellent storytellers. We are sorry that you found the content of the tour "dry", we made this tour Adult Only, because the children are very impressionable, and the content and the use of dowsing rods is inappropriate for kids.
We do not enter any Crypts, and nowhere in description does it mention the Crypts.
The name of the tour is Haunted Rome, because we visit the places, that for generations have been a scene of paranormal activity and hauntings. It's called a ghost tour, and it is packed with countless ghost stories as well as tales of murders, executions, poisonings etc. that had taken place in these ancient neighborhoods. But it is not a horror movie tour nor is it an adrenaline rush tour. Our mission is not to scare our guests, but to share our passion for the supernatural, paranormal and mystical things.
Thank you.

The haunted ghost tour of Rome was an exceptional experience that blended history and thrills seamlessly. Our tour guide's profound knowledge of Roman history added a captivating dimension to the spooky tales he shared. With a perfect balance of factual information and engaging storytelling, he took us on a journey through the eerie alleys and haunted sites of Rome, leaving us both informed and entertained.
Throughout the tour, the guide's attentiveness to the group was commendable. He made sure everyone felt included and engaged, answering questions with enthusiasm and patience. His pleasant demeanor and witty sense of humor created a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere, making the entire experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this ghost tour to anyone visiting Rome, as it offers an unforgettable blend of history, chills, and the expertise of an exceptional tour guide.

Kathleen was super knowledgeable and told the stories about each site with a lot of gumption and enthusiasm. A few times I asked questions that were very random and required a specific answer, and each time Kathleen knew exactly what I was talking about and provided a detailed explanation. I was in Rome solo for 8 days and took a lot of tours...this was by far the most fascinating one for me because Kathleen knew her stuff and made it very interesting and allowed the group to ask questions when they came up and really made us feel a part of the tour. It really could not have gone any better and it was all because of our guide, Kathleen!

Our tour guide Arianna was absolutely fantastic - so passionate with an impressive knowledge of Rome’s ghostly and gruesome history. There was a brilliant range of stories and the way Arianna told them was engaging and exciting. She knew the answer to any question asked by the group and never made us feel rushed. She really took her time and made everyone feel included.
She even went the extra mile for me when I asked for recommended reading on the stories she had told us by researching books in English that were relevant and emailing an extensive list of books the next day!
If you only do one tour on your trip to Rome, make sure it’s this one with Arianna. Amazing!

Take good shoes and proper clothing (check weather) and be ready to hear different kind of history about Rome. Tour was very good and our guide Sarah knew a lot about local history and also told stories like a real actor.
Group size was okay, not too big and not too small.

My boyfriend and I went to Rome as a long weekend for the beginning of September, we found this trip on here before we left and decided to book it for our Saturday night and we're so glad we did. It was a lot of fun walking around the city at night, felt very safe, we went in a small group with another couple and a family - which was nice to meet other travellers. Our guide Clara was excellent!! She was so knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed talking about the dark history and talking with us, we had great conversations with her, so lovely! We found out so much history and information that we had never even heard of before, very interesting, would recommend!

Arianna was a bundle of energy and walked us thru the local haunts quickly with humor and knowledge. I was with my Italian cousin and even he learned a few new facts! Fun activity at a reasonable price.

This tour was simply amazing! Our guide was so excited to share the macabre history, superstitions, facts and legends, I came home and started reading more about Roman history! She engaged everyone, took questions, and was just very entertaining. So glad we took this tour! Highly recommend. She had us looking for specific things as we walked which made it fun for everyone. There were two 2 older kids (over 10) and they seemed to really engage, participate and enjoy the tour as well. I loved the story of the Female Serial Killer and have told everyone about her. Bring water, comfortable shoes, and an open mind! And most important, ENJOY!

What a fun way to get to know a city! Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable about the history of Roma! His stories were interesting, historical and covered so many genres… church stories, art stories, WWII stories of hiding Jewish chi often and my personal favorites: the building where Galileo went on trail and the building where the “witch of Roma” lived (and did business) So worth the money!

Solid 5 out of 5! Sarah was fun and very informative about the ghostly and ghastly happenings of Rome. It was great to learn so much about the dark stories of Rome’s back alleys and old buildings. And on the best side… the kids LOVED it! They actually stayed off their phones during this tour!

Sarah is a great storyteller.
It's not easy to keep the kids engaged, but to keep them off their phones - oh my :)
Thank you!

Hi would the tour be suitable for kids aged 9 and 10?
Christiane A

I would say it depends on the kids - this being a ghost tour the guide will talk about crimes, beheadings, murders. Plenty of kids will be able to keep enough distance already to not have nightmares at that age but far from all. So I‘d say it‘s a judgement call.
