This tour exceeded all of our expectations! The driver was punctual getting us to the 3 stops on the tour on time. The coach was very comfortable. The driver took us to the countryside outside of Parma to visit family-owned businesses where they produced Parmigiano-Reggiano, Balsamic Vinegar or Prociutto di Parma. The views in the hills were beautiful. At each stop, knowledgeable and personable guides shared (in English) the production of their products. It was amazing, not rushed and each stop ended in a generous tasting of the product in a picturesque setting. We could have not asked for a more pleasant tour where we learned so much!

After watching the Stanley Tucci's: Searching for Italy, Bologna episode, I had to experience this for myself during our trip to Italy. Our group of 5 booked a private tour with Food Valley to visit the Parma producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Prosciutto di Parma and Balsamic Vinegar. It was a fascinating tour. Our guide, Alicia, was passionate about the process and the food, and clearly loves what she does. She was fantastic!
Each factory tour ended with a tasting and a new appreciation for the traditional methods of producing these special foods.
Our tour also included lunch at a beautiful castle on a hill. We enjoyed prosciutto, fresh pastas, wine, desserts and espresso.
Thank you to Food Valley for a quality experience that was a highlight of our trip!

We had a great time on our tour. It was a small group as promised. The driver took us to all three locations and got the guide for us. Each tour guide Pamigiano Reggiano, Parma ham, and Balsamic were from the families of the business, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely do this tour again with other family members. Parmigiano tasting was perfect with background information on each cheese with complimenting wine. Lunch was perfect at Parma ham location with a selection of aged ham, Parmigiano cheese and Balsamic with wine. Our final stop was at a vineyard that also processes balsamic. The owner tour guide was so friendly and funny. He really made the end of our day! He asked our driver for a few extra minutes to do a Lambrossco tasting. He did that for free. It was amazing. He gave us a bottle to take for later. I will be back before we leave Italy! The driver was great! Got us everywhere with ease. Thank you!!

It was quite an interesting morning tour. It englobes a good idea of what makes it the Food valley. Don't expect it to be a very deep dive into a culinary experience! However, it is a very fun and enjoyable one that I truly recommend.

We took the Highlander Tour in September 2019 and it was better than our expectation. The website is easy to negotiate and the follow up is fantastic including an emailed schedule of activities. We were with 6 others in a comfortable people mover. The tours of parmagiano, balsamic and prosciutto were guided by knowledgeable, female members of the family in each case. They all spoke excellent English.

A trip to Parma without an experience like this would be wasted. We can not speak highly enough about the Food Valley Travel experience.

We booked the tour the evening before the actual event took place. An extraordinarily friendly man explained the tour via telefone (in English), booked us in for the next day and managed all the details via e-mail which was really helpful.
The next day our group (7 persons) met up in front of an easy to find restaurant with good parking facilities. We met our lovely and perfectly English-speaking guide Deborah and our friendly driver. All of us hopped into a small bus and the tour started.
Our first stop was at a cheese factory for Parmigiano Regiano Cheese. Deborah explained all the steps of producing this traditional cheese and we watched the cheesemakers executing every single step. The second stop was at a manufacturer for Balsamic Vinegar where a lovely lady explained the process of making this specialty. Last but not least we were driven to a factory for Prosciutto Parma ham. An employee gave us a tour through all the rooms inside the factory and answered every question we had. This tour was crowned with a tasty lunch followed by homemade desserts. Also we had the opportunity to try out all the specialties we were learning about after each event. Those who wanted to shop had the opportunity in the manufacturer's shop, but we were not forced to buy something by any means, so don't worry about that.
All in all that was a fantastic tour with lovely people, great food, a very friendly and very well informed tour guide Deborah and great customer service. Well done and good luck.

We really enjoyed our tour to the local cheese making farm, balsamic farm and prosciutto factory. Our favourite of the three was the cheese making farm. The guide there Roberta was so friendly and very passionate about dairy farming and cheese making. We were fascinated by the sheer amount of work involved to make Parmigiano-Reggiano. We got to sample 1, 2 and 3 year old Parmigiano-Reggiano. At the balsamic tasting we got to try 12, 20, and 25 year balsamic vinegar. The process is very interesting to learn. At the last stop the prosciutto factory it we got a tour of the production and got to sample different kinds of prosciutto. Our driver was so friendly and kind and we had a great time with our group of 3 couples! I suggest having a larger breakfast as lunch consists of a plate of prosciutto, wine and a few cookies. I would have liked to be able to buy a sandwich or something more for lunch. Other than that a fantastic tour!

We were very excited for the Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto tour. We booked this tour through the TripAdvisor website few month before our trip to Italy. The tour guide was on time on the designated location. Everything on this tour was amazing but the traditional balsamic vinegar was a surprise! We learned so much on this tour and it is a must do tour in Parma!

1st off, Deborah did a really good job providing the factual info on the 2 locations plus adding her spin on the content. You definitely pack a lot of travel into the overall day seeing the craftsmanship of each of the providers. The fact that each business was family-run added to the enjoyment of the overall tour. Our favorite was the Parmesan portion of the tour as we got to see each step of the process and the cheese master interacting with us as he conducted each step added to the fun.

A few things that would make the tour even better. The 1st is the meeting spot. Unless you are staying in town, maybe adding some parking suggestions for folks staying outside of town. The 2nd suggestion would be to add a bit more bulk or inclusion in the overall process during the balsamic stage. The lady who conducted the tour did a really good job with the family background but we missed a bit of the essence of the overall process since we did not witness any of it, just received the oratory description. The other 2 parts of the tour really went in-depth in the process.

Overall really enjoyable. Keep the tasting stages with wine as that was a must.

Dear John, thank you so much for your kind review. We will keep in mind you very precious suggestions!.. About the balsamic: differently from the other 2 productions that you have seen, this product is not made everyday but only once a year.. than it's only a matter of time.. this is the amazing point about it, that's why you didn't see any manual making of.. Best Regards.
