This was an excellent tour. Tintoretto was very informative and even though it was a larger than normal group of 20 people we had no problem at all getting ample food and drink during the tour. Don’t want to spoil for people but you enjoy sweet and savoury and there is plenty to eat and drink at every stop and we ended up having great craic. Although it does feel a bit expensive especially If a couple or family it is well worth it and I would highly recommend.
Only one piece of feedback - we all stood around looking list for first 10 minutes maybe having a flag to show the actual tour would be helpful as the square you meet in can be busy.

Great experience. Third time in Venice, 2nd time doing the food tour, and didn't regret it. Super savory local "cicchetti" or as some tourists call it, "Italian tapas" but do not refer to them as tapas to a local. It is a no-no as they are very different in style, ingredients, and how they are prepared, only similarity is the small portions like tapas. Highly recommend as you start with some cicchetti, go to a restaurant to have several other dishes such as local pasta and seafood. All of this is also accompanied by some alcoholic beverages, whether it be local red wine or prosecco, which should attract drinkers as well. Great tour guide as well, extremely accommodating, and willing to work with people with food restrictions, diet, allergies, etc.

I have never written a review before but this tour is so amazing I thought it was only fair to write the review about our amazing experience. We have travelled alot and have taken many food tours, and this is the best by far. The guide was passionate about the city and knowledgeable. The quality food, and drinks were needless to say were plenty ( we were full by the third stop !!!) . We had over 15 different types of food to try, a nice sit down dinner at a restaurant fully packed with locals, and lots of nice wine. We met a few nice couples on the tours and after the tour, we even went and have another drink together. Overall, I cant recommend this tour enough , a must do on your list when visiting Venice especially if you are in Venice for a very short time.

Do not book this trip. We have been on many food tours and this was by far the worst. It was billed as small group and ours had 21 people. We were notified by text message earlier in the day a guide had canceled. We were told the group would be a little bigger than normal but fine. We were told they would split it into two smaller groups. It wasn’t fine at all. Our guide did the best she could but with 21 people in the tiny narrow alleys of Venice it was impossible hear her. So we missed most of the narrative and explanations. We only entered one of the establishments, the rest we stood outside and ate in the street because our group was so large. The one place at the fish market was especially awful as when we got there another (much smaller) tour group was inside talking with the people who worked there. We never got in and the food (fried) was cold by the time they brought it out to us. Another disaster was at each place we were served different things meaning for 21 people there were a couple of each of 10 different desserts so they passed a tray around in the street and you had to hope the one you wanted to try was still there by the time it was your turn to pick. This happened multiple times. The guide kept apologizing over and over. She told us the group was triple the normal size and they were doing the best they could. The last stop was supposedly the best gelato in Venice. Google what fake versus real gelato looks like….the one we had is what every single guide tells you not to eat. Big mound of bright colored puffy uncovered “gelato”. Attempts to contact the tour company at the beginning to leave and get a refund were met with silence. Huge waste of time and money. Go with a different company, I wish Eating Europe had tours in Venice. Their tours in Florence and Rome were incredible and highlights of our trips. This one should be avoided at all costs.

Hello Jennifer. You were fully aware of everything you wrote before the tour as we told you one of our guides were sick and we had to combine the tour group. We messaged you asking if you would like to cancel and refund or move to another date because there will be 21 people exactly or stay and get more food and wine. You were fully aware of this and still decided to join! Noone forced you to take this tour, and we were happily give you the full refund BEFORE you participated in the tour. It is also Written All Over the voucher that , if you don't want to join the tour because for whatever reasons, there are more people than stated, you can walk away and get a full refund before the tour, even 1 minute before the tour started. But no, you didn't want to do that, you wanted to do the tour and also requested a refund !!!and when there was no refund( because of all the extra food and drink you happily consumed ) , you have gotten upset when you, yourself agreed to exactly this condition !!! I'm sorry that we couldn't satisfy you though you could easily get full refund BEFORE the tour. If you hated the tour so much, why did you continue on the tour and finish it ? You could leave in the middle and demanded a partial refund. It is unfortunate that one of our guides were sick, it is even more unfortunate to encounter customers like you who wants every one to work for them for free .

This was such a fun experience. We told ourselves we'd be adventurous and eat whatever was offered, and we did. We enjoyed it all, and we left with our stomachs full and happy. Anna was a great guide, and we loved wandering around the city, stopping at so many wonderful spots, learning about Venetian food and culture, and drinking great wine. We had a large group, 19 people, but by the end of the evening we'd made lots of great acquaintances.

Absolutely wonderful. There were about 10 of us and each stop we got more wine and delicious food and just slowly all started making friends with each other and had a blast. I definitely think our guide’s kind and heartfelt description of Venice’s best food and drink made us all feel more relaxed and willing to talk with one another.
The food and drink was spectacular and special, each place having a unique style but purely Venice. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour!

If you only do one food tour in your life, this has to be the one. A really lovey guide, who's knowledge of the food and drink of Venice was truly amazing and very detailed. We visited 6 different restaurants, had 8 different courses, 6 different wines, the food and drink were of the highest quality along with the places we visited. We would definitely recommend this to everyone, great care was also taken to suit dietary requirements, our group included vegetarians and they certainly were catered for well.

After rereading the other reviews I think the guide can make or break the experience. We have done food tours in other cities in Italy and been impressed. This one was disappointing. Our guide was a gentleman who seemed to be going through the motions as he ushered us in and out of places. The portions were small and the explanations pretty basic - along the lines of here’s some sweet salami and 24 mo cheese. No introduction to the shop owners, no explanation about what’s special about the single slice of salami or pebble size piece of cheese we were offered. At the restaurants it seemed no one was expecting our group. The pasta con vongole was ok but we could have done just as well finding similar food on our own and asking a waiter who cared about their food. I think this tour would be a different experience if you get one of the guides others rave about…,

What a great trip! We’d arrived in Venice a few hours earlier and this was a brilliant introduction to the city. Our guide was a friendly, amusing, informative guy and we met some really interesting people in our group of 16. The ciccetti (local tapas), food in an authentic Italian restaurant and variety of wines, Prosecco and spritz was enough to ensure we all had fun and chat over the 3 hours. I’d definitely recommend it!

As a family of 4 we have never done this kind of tour before, but I booked it thinking it would help us find out way around the city and be a fun activity and we were not disappointed. We did this tour on our first morning in Venice with 2 children (19 and 16) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour guide kept things moving, managed the group of 16 really well and ensured we all got to try everything at each stop. The food was plentiful, the wine flowed and we got to learn some top tips that we tried to make use of for the rest of our stay in Venice. And we all definitely tried some new and interesting foods. All in all it was worth the money and a great way to spend 3 hours!

I would tend to agree with Marin S. Some of the locations got very busy, and I would be concerned for your young child’s safety. Probably best to describe it as adult only or at the very least older children….admittedly we did go for the late evening start, and ended up in the Irish pub.

Sorry, I only just picked this up and am probably too late now.
In all honesty, I've only been on the 3 hour tour and it was brilliant, our guide swapped perfectly between French, Italian and English but more to the point, took us to some great eateries and gave us the history of the area and food.
Do you offer a non alcoholic version of the tour for people who do not drink?
