Learn the backstory behind the Renaissance art inside the Doge’s Palace
Save time with skip-the-line access to both the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica
What to expect
Travel back in time and learn how this island city became a crossroads of civilizations and Queen of the Seas. This exclusive 3-hour walking tour will take you through a maze of narrow streets and gently flowing canals from Riva degli Schiavoni in Venice to the Renaissance Church of Santa Maria Formosa, built on the site where the Holy Virgin allegedly appeared to St. Magnus, the church’s founder, as a magnificent matron. Just across the square from the church, you will also get a glimpse of the majestic foyer of an 18th century palace, resplendent with magnificent Murano glass chandeliers. Just a few steps from this lively Campo will take you to the medieval buildings of Marco Polo’s House,  one of the city’s most famous sons. The next stop will be at the T Fondaco dei Tedeschi, the newest architectural renovation in Venice and latest addition to stylish shopping in the city. Once a palace-cum-warehouse that was the headquarters for German merchants starting from the 13th century, it has been metamorphosed into a luxury lifestyle department store and center of culture overlooking the Grand Canal. The hustle and bustle of the commercial district is epitomised  by the Rialto Bridge, the oldest  bridge over the Grand Canal, still lined with shops  as it was in the Middle Ages and affording a breathtaking view of the magnificent palaces lining the canal banks.   On the way back to St. Mark’s Square, pause for a minute to admire the spiral staircase of Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo and then reach the pulsating heart of the city – Piazza San Marco.   The only square in Venice called piazza and the hub of political power for centuries, it showcases the most iconic Venetian buildings – St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. With this skip-the-line tour, walk through the spectacular rooms of the Doge’s Palace literally lined with priceless masterpieces, and see the halls of power in which the government of the Most Serene Republic convened. After your guided exploration of the Doge’s Palace, your guide will walk you through St. Mark’s Basilica, one of the most majestic cathedrals in the world. The glittering mosaics of the interior tell the story of St. Mark and episodes from the Bible. Its most famous treasure stands in the sanctuary -- the Pala d'Oro, a golden altar screen encrusted with pearls and jewels (admittance ticket not included).     End your visit at an artistic glass furnace just off St. Mark’s Square where you will enjoy a spectacular glass blowing demonstration with a detailed explanation of this ancient handicraft. Stunning examples of blown glass pieces are on display in the adjoining showrooms.

Wasnt going to do a tour and then we met Antonio
May 2021 • Couples
Me and my husband had just 2 hours with the kids so we wanted to do a quick tour of dodges palace on our own. Antonio came up to us very nice but i said no as we were in a rush. Well we ended up doing the tour and forgetting about doing anything else. Antonio had so much knowledge and enthusiasm for his job that we became entranced by the legacy and history of the palace. Do not go here without Antonio, the palace comes alive with his stories.

The review of a tou leader is particularly valuable because he is a person who travels continously from country to country accompanying people and comparing services and collecting opinions of his own clients. In other words ,he is a professional anf can judge with great experience ; so I am happy to get your five stars and I remain at your disposal for future collaboration! ,

Doge's Palace
Oct 2020
Antonio has prepared a wonderful tour of the Doge's Palace for us. Apart from the history of the building, interesting anecdotes about its former inhabitants and their guests, he also provides a lot of information about history of the city itself.

We can definitely recommend him! Besides being a great tour guide, he speaks several languages fluently, amongst them even Chinese and Japanese.

Just incredible
We were with Antonio for the tour of the Palazzo Ducale and we had an amazing time.
His way of explaining and guiding us was just incredible captive, you didn’t want to stop listening to him.
He did the tour in Spanish for us and for an Italian couple, both at the same time and his fluency is notable in both languages.
I would highly recommend António for anybody visiting Venezia, he clearly is the guide you want to get for the full experience.

Best tour of our holiday in Venice
Sep 2020 • Couples
Antonio gave a fantastic guided tour of the Doge's palace and prison. His in-depth knowledge and excellent English added an extra dimension which made the tour a real learning experience.

As usual you need the tour in in shop were in exchange for a 'free.' Prosseco you were expected to purchase something, it would be nieve to think this was not standard.

Antonio also pointed out some other places of interest and also showed his honesty by coming to find us later to give us the tickets which also gave access to three other museums making the tour even better value for money.

Dear clients, God sent you to me so that I could relax without having to concentrate on the choice of words which could or could not be anderstood by a non- mother tongue english speaker.Thank you for your compliments, sorry for the mistakes that I certainly made during the explanation and also sorry to read that you felt a little pressure in the glass factory .I wish you all the best and to come back in the future without Covid "pressure" .It was a pleasure to get to know you !

AMAZING (private) Venetian tour!!!
Jul 2020
Antonio is amazing (and very patient with wild three-year-old boy running all over the place)!! He is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain in detail the history and importance of each landmark and site.

Being a local, he has extra insight

I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning a trip to Venice. It hits all the major must-see things in Venice and will make for a memorable trip.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Your child was a ray of sunshine in what would otherwise be a pretty bleak scenario, and I hope this will be only the first of your visits to Venice.
