Our guide Katia was patient and informative. The bus was comfortable and they provide us enough time to explore each stop .The only thing that bothered us most was waiting for a couple of people to board the bus (not the tour company’s fault). Would recommend this tour.

Sicilian tour

My family and I enjoyed the tour. I think our tour guide, Sara, made it the best. She was very aware of everyone's interests and mobility issues. She pointed out things to do and took extra time with those who wanted to do extra. Having a smaller tour group allowed us to have free time to explore as needed. We didn't feel rushed at all.

Great cruise port excursion from Messina

This was a great shore excursion on our Messina port day.

Castelmola is small but has breathtaking views. They provided a walking tour but then left plenty of time to explore on your own.

Taormina is much larger and we chose to explore primarily on our own but they did provide a walking tour there as well for those who wanted to join, which most in the group did. We had about three hours there which was perfect.

They also stopped for some panoramic views of Messina harbor before returning to the ship.

During the bus ride they provided lots of interesting commentary including visuals on an iPad. They also provided bottled water and almond cookies which was a nice treat.

The only downside is we were originally booked for The Godfather (Savoca) plus Taormina but they didn’t have enough people booked on that tour so they helped get us onto this one as well. We knew there was a chance that would happen, and appreciated they didn’t just leave us stranded without an excursion. Castelmola was a nice alternative.

All around great tour company. Wonderful guides. Comfortable bus. Highly recommended.

Guide was good, she was informative and knowledgeable but…
The guide was informative and knowledgeable but she was a tat bit difficult to understand and initially she made a poor attempt to display her name list. I had to intervene and hold up the sign in order to get our last five people to join our group. The areas we visited were more based on eating and shopping. Some info was given about the history while in the small towns. She gave us plenty of history on the bus.

Excellent tour guide
Our tour guide Katia was very professional and extremely clear about our tour. She and the assistant and driver are very friendly and show very patient about their job. The driver Giovanni is such an excellent driver to do all the curves roads and turns. Bravo!!👍👍

Great Tour by a Great Tour Guide

I thought the Tour company was called Discover Messina Tours. If it is the same company then our tour guide Katia was excellent. Normally on bus trips there are long periods of driving but Katia provided general information on Sicily, which I hadn't been to before, on places we passed through and on Taormina and Castelmola. Lots of useful information. She led a 30 minute walking tour of Taormina, pointing out the best Canoli shop, and allowed two hours for personal exploring. Also did a short walking tour of Castelmola (a smaller place). If you are afraid of heights the drive up is unnerving but the view was great (except Mt. Etna was covered by cloud). Reasonably priced. The owner of bus company drove the bus. Were a bit late coming back but that was because of traffic in Messina. Pick you up and drop you off at the cruise ship.

Very professional, organized and thoughtful guide. One of the best excursions we did on our 10 night cruise. We learned so much. Provided earphones to hear guide while we were walking. Bus was comfortable and air worked great. They provided water and a another little surprise that was very much appreciated.

Magical Day on Sicily

We were on a Viking cruise and I did not like their options, so I signed up for this tour. What a fantastic way to spend the day! We had wonderful guides, a comfortable bus with an accomplished driver (important on that scary drive up and down to Castelmola), and a great itinerary. Learned so much about Sicily, and had time for lunch on our own and some wandering in Taormina. It was so fun watching the White Lotus, season 2 bc it was filmed here!

Would highly recommend - one of the highlight tours of our 30 day European adventure.

Great half day tour of Taormina and Castelmola

Saturday our cruise stopped for a quick visit to Sicily. Mariatita picked us up at the dock and we were off to see these two interesting cities. On the 45 minute drive we learned about the local life and history. Once in Taormina and Castelmola we experienced the sights, sounds, food and drink. Mariatita gave us the right mix of tour time and time on our own to experience the both towns. Her knowledge helped us to see everything we wanted to make the day worthwhile. Of our seven excursions over the 11 day cruise this was in the top 3 experiences.

One of the highlights of our trip. Our guide was professional, provided just the right amount of commentary, and helpful. We were greeted at the gate right outside our cruise trip. The tour is just the right amount of time to see both Castelmola and Taormina. Be sure to climb the steps up to the castle in Castelmola. The views are even better from the top. While in Taormina, be sure to visit the public park. It requires a little extra walking to get down to the entrance, but the park was one of my favorite parts of the town. The park was quiet, shaded, unique, calming, has ocean views, and is free to enter. I highly recommend this tour.
