About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jnel9210 contributionsAn amazing day in Tuscany and a beautiful day for a Tuk Tuk ride to explore it!We went to Florence from Rome on 9/30 in a high speed train and arrived on time to meet our first tour guide Anna. She was very pleasant and we boarded a bus with other tourists. She gave us a brief history of the area and gave us some fun facts. They dropped me and my friend off at a different location as we were doing a private birthday Tuk Tuk tour. Her bit was on 10/1. We were met by our Tuk Tuk driver and guide Alessandro who made our day even more special. The Tuk Tuk was decorated with balloons and had a blanket in case either of us got cold. He drove us around the showing us the olive trees and grape vines. The landscapes were amazing. He made several stops to allow us to take pictures and he also told us about the area. We drove to the winery where we were greeted with wine. We were then taken to a beautiful area where we would sample 6 more wines and have a light lunch. Alessandro and the servers brought out a delicious Pistachio cheesecake with a happy bite sign. After we were done we were taken to the Medieval town of San Gimignano which was breathtaking to say the least. This is where parted ways with Alessandro and met up with Anna and the rest of the people on the bus to head back to Florence. All in all an amazing day worth every penny!Written 2 October 2024
- LENI S0 contributionsGreat day!Antonello our guide and our driver Tony were excellent. Very professional and knowledgeable. Great itinerary and we didn’t feel rushed as with other tours. Thankful that they waited for us in the morning, because the train from Rome was 20 minutes late and there was a lot of traffic in Florence.Written 25 September 2024
- Coastal111620230920 contributionsWine and Tuscan ViewsThe tour was amazing! We loved our tour guide Dom! He was very informative and kind! We also enjoyed both of the wineries. The first one was more commercialized but still very nice and the second was a smaller winery. Both offered exceptional wines! We fell in love with San Gimignano, it was a beautiful medieval town and which we took in marvelous views of the Tuscan country side!Written 20 September 2024

- Rehtravel0 contributionsAmazing all-day Tuscan tour! This trip was incredible. We met at 8am in Florence and spent all day visiting Cortona, Montepulciano, Siena and the sweetest farm. It was a small group of 7 in a comfortable passenger van. Antonello was a fantastic guide and even surprised us in Montepulciano with a wine cellar tour and tasting. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see the highlights of Tuscany in a day. Thank you Antonella for the fun memories that my mom, aunt and I will always cherish. Grazie!Written 15 September 2024
- katerinac6440 contributionsA travel day well spent!!Excellent itinerary and day well spent. I’m so happy I got see several destinations throughout Tuscany. Our group was enjoyable to be with and Antonello is a wonderful host and guide. I would definitely recommend to do this tour if you’re staying in Florence.Written 15 September 2024
- julianarW3421BD0 contributionsFantastico! This trip was an incredible experience! Our small group of 8 had a phenomenal time with our guide, Giovanni, who make such an effort to get us the most out of our time in the Neapolitan area. While it would be nice to spend longer in different places, I have such special memories of this trip and highly recommend!Written 15 September 2024
- meganpK8250GS0 contributionsHighlight of our honeymoon trip!We had such an awesome time on this tour and are so happy we made the trek up from Rome. We trained to Florence early in the morning and walked to the meeting point and it was very smooth. Our driver to the Vespa spot, Emanuele, was super nice and gave us a lot of cool info on the culture of the area. Our tour guide Ottavio did an awesome job making everyone feel comfortable on the vespas and was so engaging during our stops. Tuscany was absolutely breathtaking and looks so much better in person than in any of the photos. Highly recommend!Written 15 September 2024
- janedI2124WY0 contributionsMemorable Tuscan TourHighly recommend! Loved our day in the Tuscan countryside. Irene our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The wine tasting and food was fabulous. Dining outside in the vineyard would have been nicer than in the barrel room but still a lovely atmosphere.Written 13 September 2024
- Discover100922390470 contributionsAmazing “The Grape Escape” Tour!We loved our full day tour to the Chianti region and San Gimignano with Emmanuel! We did the small group tour (8 people) and this was absolutely worth the extra money! The other tours had 40 people in it and wasn’t as personalized. We were lucky and had a great group of people on our tour- we had a blast! Our tour guide Emmanuel was very nice— he told us a lot of fun facts about the region on our way there and took pictures throughout the day for us. The wineries were great, got a full charcuterie board for each person at the first winery and food at the second as well, with tons of wine tastings! We loved our tour and would absolutely tour with this company again! (Would also recommend booking directly with the tour company, the third party sites cost almost $100 extra for no reason!)Written 13 September 2024
- 252himanshub0 contributionsMy experienceThanks to IOAB Tours for the 7 day wonderful tour of Rome and the Amalfi Coast. Carlo was our friendly tour guide and we got to understand a lot about the italian culture and the cuisines from him. The trip was wonderful and I could not be more happy about having visited some really beautiful locations.Written 10 September 2024
- Z5046JUjenniferh0 contributionsSee Tuscany on Vespa!Ana and driver were efficient getting people and paperwork arranged. Vespa drivers were dropped off for test drive, helmets and bike assignments. Tide was so very fun, scenic and off the beaten path of Tuscany. Beautiful sites and vistas. Lunch and wine tasting at Toscano with winemaker was excellent. Not a trip for tentative participants. Octavio was a friendly and attentive guide.Written 5 September 2024

- staffordo20230 contributionsWonderful Tuscan day!The trip was beautiful, the choices of vineyards visited were excellent, one large and commercial and the other small boutique. Both with good wine and appetizers. The stop at San Gimignono was surprisingly beautiful. Our guide Antonella and our bus driver Daniela were professional, prompt and fun!Written 2 September 2024
- Chantelle K0 contributionsGreatEasy to book and great guides. If you are after a quick tour of two Terras and Pisa, then this is the one for you! However, if you would like to spend more time in any of these places, I recommend you either book a different tour or head out there yourself. There was enough time in Pisa to take photos and sit down and eat/relax etc. (probably more time than needed there), and there was just enough time to jump in the water in one town, and a walk around in the second. They are extremely busy places, so it was a good way to save time and navigate them on this tour.Written 31 August 2024

This is an ‘ambitious’ tour with a fair amount of train travel time required. We departed Firenze Main Station before 8:00 AM but did not get back until after 8:30 PM so it was a fairly exhausting day. Be prepared for a lot of ‘train time’.
The time spent in Pisa was limited and it was not really sufficient to fully explore the Baptistry, the Duomo and to go up the Bell Tower (Leaning Tower of Pisa). If you want to visit all three, buy your tickets early (not included in the price of the tour) as access to the bell tower is limited and controlled by the time on your ticket.
Cinque Terre is beautiful but very crowded with your fellow tourists. Our tour ambitiously had us visiting three stops so our time in each location was limited to less than one hour. Not really enough time to engage in any activities other than walking down to the ocean, taking a few quick pictures then grabbing a snack (seafood or gelato etc.). The regional trains that transit you between locations are very hot and crowded full of sweaty disgruntled fellow tourists! Be prepared to fight your way on as space is limited during peak times (a few people in our group actually could not get on and were separated from the group) - definitely not good if you are travelling with young children as the crowds are huge. (Unpleasant experience actually!) It seems we spent more time on, or waiting for, trains than actual sight seeing. As the three stops we visited are quite similar, it might be better to just pick one if you are interested in a longer stay.
The trip back to Firenze from La Spezia took almost three hours as the train used by the tour company was a ‘local’ train (particularly between La Spezia and Pisa) so be prepared for the ‘milk run’. Not sure why an express train between La Spezia/Pisa and Firenze could not have been used; maybe there isn’t one!
Our guide was very pleasant and helpful although she did not formally introduce herself until we were on the train back to Firenze! She acted more as a ‘travel coordinator’ than a guide and did not provide any real background/history of the places we visited. As an aside I would recommend that where possible, use an “Art History Major” for your tour guide as I have found they have more insight (interest?) in anything historical you are visiting. I would recommend that tour guides provide their contact information (perhaps a business card) in the event you get separated from the group.
I would not take this tour again as it felt very rushed and I did not really get to enjoy any of the locations visited fully. Combining Pisa with Cinque Terre is, as I mentioned earlier, quite ambitious. I would recommend that if you want to visit Pisa and Cinque Terre, that you not try to do this as a day trip out of Firenze unless you plan to only visit one of the two areas in a day. (i.e., visit Pisa or Cinque Terre but not both in one day).

Great way to meet other travelers as a solo traveler. The guide mostly was just helping navigate the complexity of train. Although the price doubled the train tickets (about €50-60 in total) and TripAdvisor’s price ($130) was a bit more expensive than other sites (about €100). Recommend if you want hassle free, otherwise, you didn’t miss much just going by yourself.

Hello,
we are very sorry to hear that you didn't think you got enough value for your money.
It's unfortunate that you made a comparison between the price of our services with the train fees.
In this way, you have completely disregarded the added value that we strive to offer to our customers but more importantly, you don't take into consideration all the hidden costs that every tour operator faces i.e your tour leader's guidance, the office organizational costs, and very high third party fees from the platform you are booking from.
We are sorry that you felt that you could have had the same experience by going on your own, as far as the information that was given to you. Unfortunately, this is a faced pace tour and we have limited time at each stop, if what you were looking for was a deep dive into the history of the sights you were visiting,
we would have gladly customized a tour for you and booked a Tour Guide for an additional cost.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us, we value your opinion and we take all reviews seriously and will use them in our continuous improvement efforts!

My family joined the tour organized by the Italy on a budget tours to visit Pisa and Cinque terre. There was good arrangement on transportation and meal, and more important a knowledgeable and responsible guide to lead us to different sightseeing spots. I would say there was quite sufficient staying time in each spots given we were visiting both Pisa and Cinque terre in one day. We were totally satisfied with the tour as organized. You won’t disappointed.

The trip was very rushed to say the least. Many train changes and the time spent in each village was very short.
As a suggestion; we recommend to only visit the last village which is representative of the others and spend more time and enjoy the views and the village, sit down, have dinner and then returned relaxed and happy…

Hello,
we are very sorry to hear that you thought the tour seemed rushed.
As per the itinerary that you agreed on upon by purchasing the tour, we would have visited Pisa as well as three of the villages in Cinque Terre.
It is indeed a lot to fit in one day, but we cater for those who want to get the most out of their one-day trip.
Travelling by train is also by far the most efficient way to visit this particular destination and unfortunately, it takes 2 and a half hours to get there and another 2 and a half to get back.
You recommended to visit just one out of the three villages but you made your mind about it because you had the chance to see the other two as well.
If you only had been to one, you most certainly would have felt that you could have explored more of the Cinque Terre.
We try and give our customers the possibility to see as much as they can so they won't have the feeling that they missed out on something.
In saying that we are sorry that you would have changed some aspects of the tour.
We appreciate your feedback and hope you had a pleasent stay in italy.

We went on the Pisa and Cinque Terra your before the pandemic hit. Our group consisted of my and my husband (in our late 40’s/early 50’s), my daughter (in her 20’s) and my parents (in their late 60’s/early 70’s). The tour was perfect for all of us, despite our age differences. The tour was affordable and worth every cent! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us on time with clear directions and meet up spots. We had just the perfect amount of time in Pisa and were able to see three of the villages in Cinque Terra. We loved every moment of the day! It was a long day but it was perfect and breathtaking! We will definitely use this company again! I can’t remember the name of our tour guide, but I can’t say enough good things about him.
We actually went before the pandemic, but i am just now getting around to writing the review. The drop down for the date only goes back to June 2020.

Excellent experience with Julia who submerged us in Italian history and beautiful scenic places of Pisa Tower and Cinque Terre. Well organised, made sure we had an enjoyable day and ensuring our group of 17 were well aware of our surroundings and assured we were safe and well guided till our return back home. Grazie Mille Julia! Love from Paris, Jay and Vick.

A wonderful day trip to interesting Pisa and beautiful Cinque Terre from Florence with great guides! Our guides, Giulia and Domenico were very professional and handled the train changes and time schedules very well. The guides were mainly there to help us with the trains (which wouldn't have been easy without them!) and keep us company onboard. In Pisa and Cinque Terre they took us to the sights and gave us plenty of free time to explore. A great day, I warmly recommend this trip!

Does anyone know why there’s age restrictions? I’m 51 & my mother in law is mid 70s. Both very able & im unsure why we wouldn’t be able to join this trip. Looking at September this year. Thank you

Some of the little towns in Cinque Terre have very steep alleys and stairways and those are the only ways to walk around the town. I’m 34 and trust me, my breath and my resistance where put to the test, but I’m not the fittest or healthiest person so… While I’m a firm believer that age does not necessarily dictate how able you are to stand strenuous physical activity, this might be the reason why there is an age restriction.

Hello,
My children’s ages will be 18,14 and 12 when we are in Florence. Are they allowed on this trip? I am only asking because it has an age recommendation of 18 years old.
Thank you,

There was kids on the tour when we went, I think the youngest was 15. I don’t think they are totally strict with the ages. I mean I’m 55 and there was a lady older than me that day and I believe they try to restrict it to 40. It’s all good, you’ll have a great time.
