Perfect day tour through Tuscany
Sep 2021 • Couples
Everything was fantastic. Georgia was very knowledgeable and gave us many interesting facts that I would never have known to ask about. Very comfortable van. Scenery of Tuscany countryside was breathtaking! The lunch was very elegant at the farm . The family that owned the farm were very informative about the food and cheese. The 3 towns we visited were all beautiful! I really loved the first tiny town of Chiusure where we stopped for coffee. Pienza and montelpuciano were very interesting and we enjoyed the wine tour and tasting as well! We really enjoyed Georgia’s company !

A Day Under the Tuscan Sun
Oct 2019
Wow. What an amazing experience we had. First: Small group, which is very nice. We were lucky and had such a fun group of people that were ready to enjoy the day. Second: You get to roam each place on your own, so you aren't stuck with the group all day — really nice when you're wanting some romantic alone time. Third: Our tour guide, Guillermo, could not have been better. What a great guide — full of knowledge, but not boring. He told you just the right amount, and left room for you to ask questions if you wanted. Pienza is lovely. It's a postage-stamp sized town. Perfectly strollable and lovely to visit. Montepuliciano is also lovely. Each is perched atop a hill, so views are incredible. The winery/farm lunch was INCREDIBLE. There was more food than our group could eat, and the wine was flowing. It was lovely to sit outside and enjoy a meal served over several courses — each course better than the next. The price was very reasonable, considering it was an 8-hour tour, included an amazing lunch, driver with a comfortable passenger van, etc. I cannot recommend this tour enough. We would definitely do this again.

Great sites, well organized, tour guide cranky
Dec 2019
I'm traveling with my sister, brother in law and 20 year old niece for a couple of weeks in Italy. I really wanted to visit some smaller Tuscan towns and none of us wanted to do the driving.

The smaller towns we stopped at were charming, from the first one which is tiny and is the site of an artichoke festival in the spring, to the slightly larger Pienza, where we had a chance to stretch our legs and bought some delicious cheese to bring back and finally to Montepulcianco, the larger of the towns.

The highlight was visiting an organic bio dynamic family run farm where we had an extraordinary lunch featuring products from that farm, including seven cheeses, honey, jam, fresh greens, pasta milled from local wheat and more flavorful than any I've had in the states, followed up by pannacotta. Wine was available throughout as well, plus espresso.

Even though it's mid December I found the landscape very beautiful.

The only difficulty was the guide. I don't see her name listed in the reviews above, so maybe she doesn't do this trip that often. She was perfectly knowledgeable and I felt like I learned quite a bit about the region and about Italy in general.

But she seemed to take a dislike to us fairly early on, and all four us found it very difficult in different ways. She was on each of us for different reasons, but the total impact was negative for all of us.

I travel quite a bit, so I found this really confusing. I don't know what set her off - we were on time, respectful, we didn't ask for anything special in any way, thanked her profusely at every stop, but she was critical and judgemental of us. My niece is a picky eater and this showed up as just not finishing everything, but it's not like she was critical of the food, or asked for quesadillas in the middle of Italy or other kinds of bad behavior I've seen young people engage in. (I'm a college professor, I've taken students on trips. I know they can be annoying.)

We kept getting mixed messages on the trip - we'd get left out in a spot and told to meet her at a designated time. We were always at least five minutes earlier and she'd scold us for being late. She gave the message that she didn't want to be with us and that wasn't how I'd hoped the day would go.

Again, the itinerary was great, I felt that I saw stuff I wouldn't seen on my own, but it was a lot of money to pay to a guide who didn't seem to like us from the minute we got in the van.

Wonderful day in Tuscany
Sep 2019 • Couples
We were picked up at the San Domenico location in Siena at 9:30 am and joined a group ( 8 in all) with tour leader Leonardo. He was wonderful and gave us a lot of iinteresting info and answered our questions as he was driving. We stopped for pictures during the beautiful Crete Senesi drive and had an espresso in a quaint village in Chuisure. Lunch included wine, salad, pasta and a cheese tasting, Pienza was a perfectly designed town and we had approximately 30 minutes to spend there. Enjoyed Montepulciano as well with a visit to a wine cellar.
Very good day - back to Siena about 5:30-6 pm. Recommend this trip if you are visiting Tuscany. Nice to have a driver and tour guide in one person!

Great Views, Cheese and Guide
Jul 2019 • Couples
This was a great way to get out and see a bit of the Tuscan countryside. Ambra (Amber) was an excellent guide. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We had a quick stop in a tiny town famous for its artichoke festival. We had excellent coffee before we moved on to Pienza.
Pienza was lovely. The city was built in the early Renaissance. It is one of the main homes for Pecorino cheese, the whole town smelled delicious!
We then went to lunch at a beautiful farm. Here we had a delicious lunch including local fresh cheeses and wines. I would have liked a tour of the cheese making facility at the farm.
Then it was off to Montepulciano for wine, gelato, and shopping.
It was a great way to get out of Siena and learn about the landscape and heritage of Tuscany.

Beautiful Tuscany, Excellent Guide
May 2019 • Solo
Our small group was in very capable hands with Guillermo (Will, Bill). He made sure we stopped for quality photo ops. He regaled us with history, culture, and interesting anecdotes, yet gave us plenty of time for individual exploration. There was great food and wine. Very enjoyable visits to Pienza and Montepulciano. Lunch at Podere il Casale and seeing the farm animals was a treat. Highly Recommended.

This was truly the highlight of our Italian vacation! Marella truly has a passion and is genuine and authentic with her sharing of knowledge and making this a fun and unique day for everyone. This is not a canned tour like you get anywhere else, this is off the beaten path and local exploring the real Tuscany with a real Tuscan. We loved every minute of this and will book another!

The BEST day trip ever with our guide Marella!
Apr 2019 • Solo
I had the best time in Siena during the day trip with Marella and other group members. It was a solo trip for me but I don't know how to drive. I knew the best way to visit the countryside was to have a car. That is why I joined this day trip. Our guide Marella is an amazing lady. She is sweet, smart, outgoing, open-minded, humorous and talented. She can speak several languages and her Chinese is surprisingly good! She drove us to Pienza and Montepulciano, explained to us all the way, and patiently waited for us to take photos of the beautiful views. We had a cheese tasting and a wine tasting, and a delicious lunch in a village. This day trip made my solo trip not lonely again cause I met great friends. I will definitely recommend it to you. By the way, if you are like me, fancy the movie Under the Tuscan Sun, you have to join this trip.

A magnificent day!
Our small group visit to Montepulciano and Pienza was the BEST! It was a full day of breathtaking vistas, excellent food, a wine tasting, and casual strolls through picturesque medieval towns. Our guide, Ambra, was an absolute gem!! She shared such interesting historical facts as we traveled, answered our many questions, and delighted us with her quick wit and endearing personality! Ambra was the pièce de résistance of the day.
