Overview
The UNESCO-listed Douro Valley is famed for its port wine, but with countless wineries to choose from, exploring the region without a guide can be overwhelming. This tour ensures you'll experience the Douro Valley at its very best, by dining on Douro cuisine at a celebrated villa and tasting award-winning bottles at two estates. To see the vineyard-lined Douro River from the water, upgrade to enjoy a cruise by traditional Rabelo boat.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Porto for the 1.5-hour trip to the Douro Valley, pausing to stretch your legs in Peso da Régua, the capital of the Douro Valley.

Continue to Pinhão, where you'll have time to explore the beautiful village on your own, from the surrounding vineyards to the distinctive blue-and-white tile murals.

If you selected the Douro River cruise, this is where you'll board a Rabelo, a traditional cargo boat long used for Douro River transport. The hour-long ride takes you up a Tua River tributary and past Quinta da Romaneira winery, and then loops back to Pinhão.

Following your time in Pinhão, sit down to a lunch of traditional Douro cuisine paired with local wines at a valley villa, and then visit a pair of estates for tastings of award-winning ports and wines. The tour concludes with a return trip to Porto.

Appetizer for a future 5 days Cruise.

It is marvellous. Porto is a great city, this tour, if you are not staying too long is mandatory. You go early in the morning by boat (breakfast and lunch - just reasonable- included)and return in the afternoon by train.
