Santorini 5-Hour Island Tour with Wine Tasting
From US$92.68
Overview
Savor Santorini’s scenery and some of its wines on this 5-hour tour. Visit the cliffside villages of Oia, Imerovigli, and Megalochori; see the blue-domed church that graces most Santorini postcards; and climb Santorini’s highest mountain for panoramic views. Plus, enjoy an optional swim and lunch (own expense) at Perivolos’ black beach and finish with a Santorinian wine-tasting at a winery perched above the caldera. Hotel, port, airport, and Fira cable car pickup and drop-off included.
What to Expect
After pickup at your Santorini hotel or Santorini port, airport, or the cable car at Fira, set off by comfortable, air-conditioned minivan toward the famous and cosmopolitan village of Oia.
Stop at the edge of Santorini’s caldera to take in the awesome views, and on arrival in Oia, explore the narrow, marble-paved streets. Admire the architecture of the captains’ houses, delve into the prettiest parts of the village, and take as many photographs as you can.
Next, continue to the village of Imerovigli, an ideal spot for snapping more pictures. Your guide will lead the way into the heart of the village, explaining its architecture and showing you the beautiful blue-domed cathedral and hotels perched high on the caldera cliffs.
Your next stop is Firostefani, the home of the famous blue-domed church that appears on many Santorini postcards. Admire this tiny church and soak up the spectacular view from here — it alone is well worth the price of your tour.
After your visit to Firostefani, continue to the Prophet Ilias Monastery, situated on the top of Santorini’s highest mountain. Enjoy the panoramic island and Aegean views from the summit and then head to Megalochori, one of Santorini's most beautiful villages.
Take a walking tour here before venturing to the famous black beach at Perivolos. Get time here to explore or swim, and if you wish, enjoy an optional lunch at a local fish taverna (own expense).
Lastly, pay a visit to the Venetsanos winery, built on the edge of the caldera cliff and commanding gorgeous views of the sea and volcano. Enjoy a tasting of five different wines on the winery’s outdoor terrace as you admire the stunning backdrop.
Your tour starts at 9:30 am and finishes at approximately 2:30 pm with a drop-off at the original starting point.
